For the ask game: do your durge and gortash coordinate clothes?

I wanted to get at this when I had time cause it's a bit of a long multifaceted answer that I have spent way too long contemplating because im obsessed with fashion. I'll include some art and photos because I'm extra. but the short answer is yes.

Gortash is prone to wearing luxury Baldurian fashions in black and red with gold accents.

Achaia wears the same red and golds but is more prone to wearing white before he and Gortash become an item, and he switches to black afterwards. His fashion however is very much loose flowing art silks, folded in a dhoti style for his pants, if he wears a shirt it's a kurta style tunic. He'll wear sarees and dresses, anything flowy that's beautiful when he's moving around.

Gortash will occasionally add a long silk shawl in a matching color to his own outfits to tie their looks together. And once in a while Gortash can get Achaia in a high collared Baldurian jacket.

After the events of the game if he rejects Bhaal and destroys the brain, Achaia swaps his red primary color for a fuschia to match his new eyes, which are orchid pink, tho he keeps the golds and blacks to match Gortash(who has to be alive or Achaia takes control of the brain to go get his man, at which point he keeps the reds regardless)

After he rejects Bhaal Achaia does have a bit of a fashion crisis because he sees a lot of his clothing tying him to much to a man he can't remember being but his fashion preferences win out eventually. Also Gortash loves the easy access the folded silk pants give him.

I like to think that by the time Achaia is dressing in the pinks and fuschia's that match his eyes, Gortash is also replacing the reds in his own outfits so they match.

Surrounding the palace were sprawling gardens, lush with rare plants and vibrant flowers, their scents drifting through the air. Servants, like silent shadows, worked tirelessly, tending to the gardens and ensuring the palace's upkeep without a word. The soft gurgle of fountains punctuated the quiet, their waters shimmering faintly.

Inside, the palace reflected a balance between raw power and refined taste. The floors, made of cool light marble, stretched beneath towering pillars carved into the shapes of prowling lions and roaring tigers.

Pardas (curtains) of rich silk hung from the walls, interspersed with tapestries that depicted the Maharaja’s rise to power. Chandeliers fashioned from bones and gold hung from vaulted ceilings painted with celestial scenes, reminding all who entered of Rakesh’s angelic origins and his violent fall.

On the eastern balcony, overlooking the vast gardens, Rakesh reclined in a low chair, his amber eyes fixed on the horizon. A long, carved pipe made of ivory rested between his fingers, the sweet smoke curling lazily into the air.

Do you have any uncommon/less-common headcanons/theories about Kurapika?

i’m not sure how uncommon these are, but I certainly have many many headcanons…

Control is such a huge aspect of his trauma, so I imagine it bleeds into all of his habits in some way. For example, I imagine him with a less-than-positive relationship with food and eating. He is probably very particular and regimented about what he eats, and rarely eats for “pleasure”, just to stay alive.

It’s pretty common to draw/depict him in really elaborate, fashionable outfits (and I can’t blame people! he’s very cute!), but I think realistically he would care very little about fashion. When not wearing his Kurta attire I imagine he dresses very simply and comfortably. He never had time or energy to develop a real sense of “style”…

He hates April Fool’s Day. Pranks are just lies, so it’s just a day for lying. Which he hates.

He fantasizes about winning arguments with people. Mostly Leorio, who is very easy to win arguments against.

I don’t think he has any vices; I imagine he finds cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, etc all disgusting. He will share an evening glass of wine with Leorio on occasion, however. (when he does end up out drinking, he is a total lightweight.)

To make up for his struggles expressing his emotions, he takes up writing letters and poetry for his friends. Birthdays, holidays, and special occasions all come with a letter. (Leorio bawls each year over his birthday poem.) (theyre not even particularly good…)

I think this one is pretty common, but I fully believe he’s autistic.

Since he was so young when he lost them, and he has no photos or anything, he has forgotten what most of his family and friends from his clan looked like. But because they looked so much alike, he is able to remember his mom’s face a little more clearly when he studies his own.

In the same vein as the previous one, I personally don’t think he would remember as many specifics about Kurta ceremonies, songs, recipes, etc as he seems to in a lot of fan-fiction. :,) He was bright, but he was so young. I think it’s sweeter to imagine that he records what he does remember, but also folds new things into his traditions from his friends.

When I imagine a post-mission/canon Kurapika, I truly believe he yearns for and deserves the normalest life ever. He could go to college and learn everything he wanted to learn in “the outside world”. He could travel, he could write… I think he would be happy doing anything as long as he had his friends with him. :,)
