Achaia

I really thought my hyperfixating brain would let me get away with just writing three long fics for BG3. But oh, my brain already prooved me so wrong with coming up with Bound by Blood and Praise Loviatar.

Now, however, it also wants me to come up with a plot for yet another one. Because it jjust turns out that everyone included we now have a total of three different plothooks that would get people into hell.

Wyll (in my playthrough) still has his contract - that should be taken care off some way, so he won't end up as a Lemure.

Karlach does have a somewhat working machine right now, but she needs a permanent solution. Which she probably can only acquire in the hells.

Tav's former partner got kidnapped into the hells eight years ago and was not seen since. Tav really wants to safe him, because he feels guilty about it.

Big question right now is, how the fuck to merge all that into one coherent plot. And then I will start crying, because I already know how many fucking characters this will involve.

Still, something that I am looking forward to, is writing Achaia, a devil OC I have come up with. She is one of the daughters of Belial, making her a duchess of hell. And she is going be... quite complicated as a character. Also she is smoll bratty kind of demon xD

Rudra/Shiva

Achaia is a Dark Urge, rogue(thief)/Monk(open hand) multiclass. Technically he's built out of half wood elf for extra movement, but he looks like a half drow (because Bhaalspawn, he isn't actually an elf at all) Top stats being strength, dexterity and charisma. The background gives you medicine and intimidation. I also took one look at Orin's headdress and decided that Achaia's aesthetic needed to match but in gold. Now-

Shiva also drank poison and his wife choked him so it wouldn't poison the universe (forgive me if this is not completely accurate, I'm not a worshiper just an enjoyer) and Achaia frequently calls his beloved Gortash "the hand at my throat" and his relationship with Gortash is literally the thing that threw a wrench in daddy Bhaal's plans for him to destroy the world.

Shiva is specifically referred to with matted hair-Achaia wears his hair in mattes, the list goes on.

Achaia learned a lot about Gortash during that raid on the House of Wonders.

this is certainly one way to look at it, unless you consider (Insert Name Here, e.g. my oc: Achaia) the person behind The Dark Urge.

the way i see it, before being killed by Orin, Durge was pretty overwhelmed by Bhaal's will and was comfortable or even flourished in it because it was all they had ever known. but then their darling sister/grand-niece jams a dagger in their skull and shoves a parasite in there dampening Bhaal's hold over them similar to how it affects the other companions. they wake up on the nautoloid with their own thoughts, emotions, and free-will for the first time no matter how scrambled those may be. all the other bhaalspawn had urges they inherited from Bhaal that sometimes fought against the will they inherited from their mortal parent. it seems that Bhaal tried to circumvent that with his Special Baby by asexually reproducing, and it kind of worked? he had an unusually strong hold on Durge but he did still create an entire person, not an avatar and that has its own implications. imo Orin accidentally did Durge (or at least my oc: Achaia) a favor dampening TDU because it broke Bhaal's complete control over his creation for the first time letting the person behind it show. whether they ended up being evil anyway or not determines who Durge actually is underneath it all and is entirely up to you as the player. you can absolutely decide that Durge is actually a murderous, cannibalistic necrophile, but that is a choice you have to make as the player - it's not built in. the pain Durge feels while resisting reads as Bhaal's will trying to claw back control over an unexpectedly wayward puppet. the potentially resistant part of them didn't just appear out of nowhere, it was always (potentially, depending on what you decide for your character) waiting under there. Durge doesn't become a new person if Withers resurrects them because they've been that person for the entire adventure AT LEAST. they're now more themselves without Daddy Bhaal crushing their soul in his iron fist. yeah they were created to be what Bhaal wanted and exact his will on 'earth' while he was waiting to be brought back, but taking that away doesn't make them not themself, but rather entirely themself for the first time~

Mentally screaming over The Dark Urge Origin of Baldur's Gate 3.

To preface, I haven't actually gotten to PLAY BG3 (don't currently have a gaming PC), but I've been obsessing over the lore and I want to mention something specific.

The "Good Ending" for Durge isn't really Durge's happy ending, is it?

Baldur's Gate 3 Spoiler's Ahead

From Durge's perspective, they lived their entire life as the Bhaalspawn. Durge seemed to like their life, and seems to enjoy giving in to the Urge (when it isn't at the expense of their lover), while they seemingly suffer for denying the urge.

Then, their best friend (or potentially Lover) from before the amnesia finds them, tells them who they are, and then suddenly it all makes sense - they're home again. Finally, someone is praising them for their natural inclinations, not looking at them as a broken thing that needs fixing.

In the "Good Ending", Durge literally dies, and a new hero (like the blank slate default hero) is born in their place. (it's not a case like Astarion where his evil is largely survival/trauma based. Durge was CREATED to be who they are, taking that away makes them just...not them.)

It's a good ending for the rest of the world, but certainly not for Durge specifically.

I firmly believe Gortash loved the idea of being a desirable cad and playing up the idea of Achaia being his long suffering slightly oblivious spouse. If they're talking about your rocky marriage they aren't talking about your underground slave trade. King of bread and circuses.
