#daniel ricciardo #dr3 #went on a hike the sunday after the official announcement and listened to this song on repeat for probably 3 of the 8 miles #POV: me in the middle of the woods telling myself to get it together #while crying about a 35 year old millionaire before I end up passing someone on the trail and they call the police on me #so song is about how female stars are treated overtime and when they first arrive they're praised for being authentic and refreshin #but once the shine wears off and they're a little older and reveal imperfections or they struggle they become a target for ridicule #and then they're discarded for the next new thing in town and the cycle keeps repeating itself forever #which to me so closely mirrors daniel's trajectory in F1 in the eyes of the media #but also when you take the lyrics at face value they are just so daniel...#the f1 ecosystem and more specifically the redbull “family” are fake as hell #and yet daniel is one of their most genuine products who actually can't be easily reproduced (but by god they'll try)#he showed a great deal of promise despite coming from a place that really never should've produced a successful f1 driver #because the cards were stacked against him and nobody really thought he would make it #but he did and he gave us 13 brilliant years (and he has SO much more to give and do and succeed at and he will)#but the wheel of time keeps spinning and the cycle continues for the next shiny new toy that they can nurture and then destroy #anyway i'm not totally in love with these gifs but I need to be done w/them and I had to exorcise this demon that was making me sad

ohh so itz one of Those days for me today huh.

#days where i ponder What if my friends and also literally everyone ever all Hated me due to the Valid reasons for hating me.#and then i spend so much time contemplating 1) what i would do if Everyone hated me and how i would explain myself in various situations an #places. what i would say how people would react what i would do in response etc. and then also 2) i contemplate and recontemplate my belief #over and over even tho i Know by now how i feel. because What if my opinion changes and i realize i was wrong before. and i finally arrive #at the perfect answer that feels Right and Good and True and which i could adequately explain to anyone and convince anyone of itz Rightnes #and Correctness. like thats not gonna happen thats not an answer that Exists can i chill out and focus on my classwork pleas.#i mean actually i have gotten some shit done. but i have More to do still. and i should work on more things instead of Contemplating and #Feeling bad over and over in ways i knooowwww will not lead me anywhere new. but what if they do!! what if i stop thinking about things and #then one day i would have had some realization if only id thought more but i didnt!#like come on. theres more productive things i can be doing with my time than going back and forth about this. pleaseee. this will not lead #to anything new can i Please do something useful and not bad-feeling with my time instead #but also i should not avoid uncomfortable thoughts just because they feel bad.. itz Important to be uncomfortable sometimes in order to gro #hhhhhhhhhhhh. this has been my brain all day whenever im not sufficiently distracting myself with conversation or school work.#imagining and running through scenarios of what would happen if various strangers and friends found out and disliked me for some things #is Not a good or productive use of my time rn. i need to focus on not failing any classes Please

#how do i express that while it is not realistic or even desirable for everyone to strive for a monastic life or a life dedicated to pacifism #i think it's actually a really fucking important perspective to exist in the world. we need true pacifists among us. not all of us. but som #not everyone can or should dedicate themselves to meditating on and preserving the inherent sacredness of life BUT SOMEONE HAS TO.#i see a lot on here about how it's not immoral and is in fact necessary to fight back against bigotry by any means necessary #but i am of the opinion that it goes both ways.#i think it's stupid and naive and self important to believe that fighting against oppression and establishing peace are one and the same #individualism has poisoned you guys so bad that you're walking around thinking that there's a specific philosophy or mindset #that is the opposite of oppression and that every progressive should eventually arrive at. it isn't true. it doesn't exist.#that's my problem with [redacted] too but yall aren't ready for that one.#you guys are full of ideas that you think are new and radical but are irrevocably based in a western perspective #diversity in society means diversity in mentality.#someone who commits themselves to doing no harm to anyone or anything ever is not an inherent enemy or in antithesis to leftism.#this feels like such a 'making up a guy to get mad at' thing as im typing it but i don't think it is.#i think it's dishearteningly common for passionate and angry progressive fighters to assert that the only way to make a better world #is for everyone to feel and think and act like them and throw out or convert anyone who doesn't.#i don't think it's productive. i think it alienates and individualizes people who ultimately want the same ends and should be collaborating #okay im done now

I know that at this point the release of the third novel is practically around the corner (and I know I'm also very late to talk about this) so there's really no need to post about it. But I haven't seen anyone commenting on this on Tumblr before, which is kind of surprising, I'm not going to lie. (And I checked the tags and I used the search bar, I didn't find a soul who posted this before. Either that, or they posted it and I didn't see it (words/tag filters working maybe))

Anyway.

SO,for those who are excited for the new book and didn't already know this (either because you don't use Twitter, haven't seen this here on Tumblr before or are behind on the news) a new extended preview for Bendy: Fade to Black was released a while ago!

The first preview had already been shared here back in June, and it only had the first chapter of the book + the first page of the second chapter. This extended preview has the prologue of the book, chapter 1 and more extra pages for chapter 2 (I don't think it's the entire chapter,tho)

(Also, the book has 33 chapters in total. Nice)

Again,I know it's too late to be able to talk about this at this point (I got busy in September and was prevented from talking about it before), especially since this book is coming out like. This week lol. There's not much point to talk about this now. But repeating myself, I didn't see anyone commenting about this here on Tumblr. I checked the tags and used the search bar, and nope, nobody. Which is surprising considering the other official (I think?) things people decided to share here. And hey, maybe there really is someone out there who doesn't know that this preview hasn't been released (because I'm sure at this point some of you reading this will have already seen this preview before I posted it here) so consider this post as a helping hand/a reminder perhaps.

And just so this isn't just *a* post sharing the preview, here's a reminder for everyone to remember to tag your spoilers if you're going to talk about the new book! And for those who won't be able to read this book anytime soon (Me), remember to mute/block tags and words so as not to be spoiled! I have to definitely do that after posting this.

Looking at the rota app thinking well. Tomorrow is going to be fascinating

#basically it’s just me; the assistant manager; my work bestie; and a volunteer who comes in only to cut bread and wash up #and only for 2 hours. she leaves to have lunch with her husband at 12:30. which is extremely valid because she’s literally working for free #i wouldn’t do even one hour’s unpaid work in that place #and uh. that’s it lol. and at some point we all need to get lunch breaks #and we have stations like hot food and cashiering that absolutely need two people to be on them at all times #AND we have restocking that needs to be done; we need to be emptying bins; cleaning tables; etc #and we have a BIG space! the cafe’s at a nature preserve. land is what we have. it is spread out #to summarise i think i’m going to be cashiering and making drinks by myself for 7.5 hours straight #we have deliveries arriving because someone (read: our manager) thought that was a good idea???#i just hope someone from retail or car park bails us out because otherwise i am going to have a full on breakdown #and i hope i don’t slice my thumb open again. and i hope the bucket doesn’t leak again #if something crazy happens i might just make an executive decision to stop service until we’ve dealt with it tbh #because it was absolutely ridiculous trying to serve customers while literally standing on one foot while my coworker wiped the wet floor #under me & another coworker fixed the coffee machine (meaning she was very much in the way and i basically couldn’t use either machine)#it was TOO MUCH. if it happens again i’m just letting the customers know ‘here’s what’s happening and you’re looking at a 10 minute wait #because my manager has overcomplicated everything’#literally we just do way too much stuff in too small of a space. like the more stuff you cram in the more can go wrong #and WE DON’T HAVE THE SPACE OR THE MANPOWER TO DEAL WITH IT #like girl you’re the best manager i’ve ever had but every time we order in a new product i die inside #so that’s my life atm. thanks for asking #personal
