#never though so how excusable is it? queer/trans/poc are justified in their outrage but how productive is it to call people who voted for

the thing about it is that people are desperate, and when they are desperate, they're going to turn to the person who conveys that they have a solution. the u.s. right wing, despite moral failings across the board, is at least good at politics. they make people - their poor and neglected and uneducated and underresourced constituency - feel seen and heard. they offer solutions. while it's obviously a fucking plague that is corrupt and deplorable, it's no surprise - historically - that people are flocking toward fascism when they have nothing. you're poor? it's the goddamn immigrants, we'll hunt them down and ship them off. you're single? it's women's fault; we'll take back their autonomy so they can't divorce you, they can't make enough money to live without you. you're lonely? no you're not, you have your cars and your guns and your political party and your nationalism and your god, what else do you need? don't look at them, look at me. they're trying to take that from you. they're the enemy.
and democrats will sit back because they know they're the only other option. real policy doesn't matter to them. at the end of the day, it's not about party, it's about wealth. you, materially, have more in common with the trumpiest republican than with someone like hillary clinton or donald trump because you both exist to be exploited by them. democrats will pull their punches in the fight for your right to exist because they know if they lose, they can continue to campaign on them, get donors from them. this is their 9 to 5, their day job, and the money they make comes from You. both parties, at this point in late stage capitalism, are dependent on your desperation. the only difference is that republicans want to win so the cycle can continue, and for the exact same reason, democrats want to lose.
Is she genuinely losing?! How are the democrats so good at losing
