nothing is worse than when u pay somebody for art and you realize that you picked the wrong kind of artist. like maybe their art style just doesn’t jive w the character u for art of. or they’re misunderstanding a key element

If nothing is wrong with the character, and it's just a style thing... you shouldn't be obligated to change it. They chose to commission you. I've commissioned many artists and sure, sometimes I ask for a small change. Most of the artists have a clause saying they will only make so many changes before charging OR won't make any changes past a certain point unless it's their mistake (some might, but would charge). This client should be paying for these changes, most likely. I'm curious what stage the commission is at.
There's only ever been three four commissions I've ordered that were completely wrong in some way that I can remember. If they're that bad, I honestly just... never look at them again and forget they exist (thus the strike through above). Four is still a super low number given the massive number of commissions I've ordered! The reasons were all different. The one I just remembered actually had a wonderful sketch. It looked just fine. There were no other WIPs. The finished version looked both muscular and emaciated for an otherwise dainty woman which was... impressively wrong; I just accepted it and moved on since there was no changing it. They had a great style; I wasn't sure what happened since the sketch was great. I think they leaned into her abilities which don't affect her appearance. Another was my fault. I asked an artist would seemed pretty good at both cute characters and skulls to draw one of my cuter characters and her partner which is... a kind of horror. His head is an animal skull. She came out wonderful, but him not so great; I think she was better with human skulls. That feels weird to type. In any case, like your client, I just didn't pick the best artist stylistically, and that's on me. I wasn't particularly upset or anything; I just go with the flow. Another was... I'm not sure. Miscommunication? I'd commissioned them at least five other times and each one is breathtaking. This one, there was an issue portraying the character's age where he didn't either look 18 or 40, haha. I only asked for changes twice (in the same sitting) because I hate feeling like I'm being a bother. It's not a bad commission. It just feels off. The artist wasn't upset with me, though, and this was during the usual "hey, is everything good" phase.
The only one that actually annoyed me is when my actual instructions from the beginning of the commission were ignored. =/ like... I'm fine with two of those examples and I've apparently forgotten the first one. But this one is and otherwise gorgeous commission that frustrates me because it's a realistic style, right? This character has two small pokemon, so I paid extra for them and asked hey, please draw them as realistic cats. In the sketch they were just blobby placeholders, so there wasn't much to say. I get the are back and... they're toony. They stick out against the main character. I don't remember if I asked about it at the end or just gave up as I tend to do. It was about five years ago now, after all, but it's the only time I can think of where someone ignored a specific request. She generally didn't do changes once something was done, iirc.
And now I've rambled tangentially off topic. My apologies. I'm tired.
I do art commissions. This commissioner keeps asking me for various changes, and I am under changing them than what i normally would. Like. WAY UNDER-CHANGING. But im only doing it because i need the money.
Anyways, they keep asking for changes, and when I express I cannot be completely style accurate to the charater as its a style i dont work with, but they paid me because they liked my Personal art style.
Not only that, they frequently come into my dms to vent, and honesty. Id refund them if i didnt need the money this badly.

zephyr: slight burst of gentle wind; gentle breeze
Why did I watch those shows again? You thought to yourself as you sighed, trying to fix your hair from looking like a bird’s nest. A few days before, you had promised yourself that you would pack your bags and then binge-watch your shows, but what did you do?
The exact opposite.
On that day, you decided, oh one episode wouldn’t be that bad, and it went downhill from there. You ended up pulling an all-nighter to finish watching the episodes. Now, it was 4:30am and you are shoving every possible thing you owned into a small suitcase and duffel bag.
You looked at your watch and groaned at the time. Your friend was about to arrive any minute to pick you up and you didn’t pack your toiletries yet. You dashed to your bathroom and shoved everything into your suitcase but you didn't realize that your hair dryer decided to greet you by flying into your face as you tried to reach for something else.
You swore under your breath as you winced when touching the slight bruise forming near your eye due to the hair dryer. You couldn’t go out like this, not with that bruise forming! Your phone started ringing and you glanced down at the screen. The words Haneul appeared on your screen and you swiped your phone to pick up the call.
“Rise and shine idiot!! It’s time to go to Norway, you better be up an-” A chirpy voice blasted through your phone.
“Yeah, yeah I’m awake. Give me a sec.” You grumbled, already in a bad mood. You overslept, didn’t pack your bag, and now you have a forming bruise under your eye. All you wanted was your bagel that consisted of avocados and fresh tomatoes seasoned with pepper and salt (A/N: Sorry if you don’t like this combo !!) since you haven’t eaten anything.
You shoved the remaining items you needed into your toiletries bag (while holding a freezing cloth to lessen the pain of the bruise) and you bolted out into the kitchen where all your stuff was. You quickly glanced at the coffee table and saw your sunglasses. This is the only way to cover that nasty bruise, you thought. Your face mask wasn’t going to do much but it still helped slightly.
You took all your stuff (not forgetting your bagel) and you ran into every room to check if everything was okay and that nothing bad would happen while you were gone. You locked your front door to the apartment and walked downstairs to see your friend sitting in her car. You quickly loaded your luggage into the truck and opened the passenger door to sit down and greeted Haneul.
The second you fastened your seatbelt, you looked at your right wrist, which had a black arrow inked into your skin. There was the so-called “myth” of meeting your soulmate with the use of the arrow on your wrist.
Supposedly, if you get near your soulmate, the arrows on you and your partner’s wrists will point into that direction. The second your hands come in contact, it shifts into a red heart to signal that you have found your soulmate. You have never seen your arrow move in any direction and you were beginning to lose hope that you would never find your soulmate.
You looked out the window and relaxed, after the insane morning you had encountered. The ride to the airport was filled with classical songs  and everything went as planned from the second you got off Haneul’s car to your flight to landing at Norway. You figured to go to a trip to primarily relax but to also find inspiration for your next piece of art.
The second you had gotten out of the airport, you inhaled and exhaled contently, finally here in Norway. On the plane, you were busy drawing away some art commissions you had done for your followers on Tumblr - traditional drawings of people from artists to cartoon characters. But then, a burst zephyr had lifted the cover of your folder, causing one particular sketch to fly away. You widened your eyes, I can’t afford to lose that drawing!
The sketch that the wind had taken away was of a man in his mid-20s, with broad shoulders. According to the person who had commissioned you to do this particular person was named Kim Seokjin from the K-Pop boy band group, Bangtan Sonyeondan. At first, you weren’t too sure about accepting this request because you had no idea who he was, but after researching about him and listening to his group’s music, you fell head over heels for them. You also couldn’t deny that Jin was indeed very good-looking.
You quickly ran off to chase down the drawing until it floated softly in front of someone wearing all black walking towards you. You quickly hoped that whoever was walking wouldn’t step on it. You noticed the same small arrow on his left wrist but you paid no mind to that.
“Er, sorry that’s mine.” You mumbled, not knowing what to do. You tried to pick your drawing up but your hand flew in contact with the person’s hand who was reaching down for your drawing. You felt a tingling surge through your body as if it had woken you up. Your extended hand revealed your arrow pointing right at the person in front of you. As if he was not used to the tingling, he withdrew his hand and you decided to just grab the drawing in front of you, taking the chance so that you didn’t have to face another awkward moment.
You couldn’t really get a good look at your possible “soulmate” as he had a face mask and sunglasses as well but you assumed he was equally as shocked as you were. “Uh -” You both said in sync, but stopped after realizing that both of you talked at the same time.
The arrows on your and his wrists soon shifted into a heart that was inked in red. You had stared at your wrist in shock and your gaze went over to him, who was staring at his own wrist. You then realized that his gaze shifted towards you and you suddenly felt small when you looked up to him because you only reached his upper arms barely.
“Well, I didn’t expect to meet my soulmate through the element of wind.” He said amused, breaking the silence around us. He took off his sunglasses and mask as if he wanted to look less suspicious in front of his soulmate. You quickly followed so but then froze because your bruise was still there. It wasn’t that noticeable but you prayed that you didn’t make a bad impression for your soulmate.
“Oh dear, what happened to you?” He chuckled lightly, smiling softly as he reached out to touch the bruise. His touch didn’t hurt you, but instead, made you melt under his touch. So this is what having a soulmate feels like... but why did he look so familiar?
“... Mistakes happen.” You muttered bashfully, suddenly growing very shy in front of your own soulmate. You couldn’t get his facial features out of your mind - they stuck out as if you knew him from somewhere.
“Either way, you’re still very pretty. What’s your name?” He said contently as if he was trying to savour the moment. How could he stay so calm? You internally panicked, no one told you what to do when you meet your soulmate!
“[First Name].” You could barely register what was happening at this point. You were slightly grateful that your soulmate was doing most of the talking because you could feel yourself stuttering every word you uttered.
“A beautiful name for a beautiful girl.” He commented as you saw him smile. Those words had set butterflies off in your stomach, He’s already calling me beautiful and we barely met only two minutes ago. The sight of his smile also made you weak at the knees.
“Anyways, what about you, Mr. Soulmate?” You asked, feeling much more relaxed. All the events that you experienced led you all the way to meeting your soulmate, who you never thought to have met.
He glanced down to your drawing, and gently took the paper out of your hands as he held it in front of you. Your eyes widened as your realized why he looked so familiar.
“Jin.”
