"Hey you okay? You alright?" He asked, voice coming out frantic as he grabbed Gale's face, forcing him to look at him.

"You came"

Gale said weakly, voice relieved, almost shocked, like he couldn't believe he was here. Before John could even say anything, Gale was wrapping his arms around him in a bone crushing hug, face buried in his neck as he breathed him in.

"Of course I did. You called. Of course I did." He tried to sound reassuring, but his voice trembled with worry.

He felt paralyzed, his heart racing as he instinctively looped an arm around Gale's waist, his other hand gently running up and down his back to soothe his shivering. Gale didn't do well with the cold anymore and seeing him shaking like this dredged up distant memories in John-memories he wished he could pack in a box and lock them away and forget them forever. Memories of the war, of Gale shaking and shivering in the blistering cold, marching across Germany with him, not knowing what kind of fate awaited them. The deep sense of helplessness at seeing Gale with frozen eyelashes and flushed face, trembling, huddled with hundreds of other men and not being able to do anything about it, sipped back into his bones and made space as if it had never left. It felt wrong and unbearable to see it now. Those days were over and he never wanted to see Gale cold and shivering ever again.

The memories crashed over John like a wave, knocking the breath out of him. With newfound urgency, he pulled back, shedding his coat and wrapping it around Gale's shoulders.

“John-” Gale breathed, voice strained. His eyes were brimming, threatening to spill over, face pinched with raw emotion. John reached to brush his messy fringe out of his forehead, cutting him off.

“You’re shaking, Gale. Talk to me. What’s wrong? What’s the matter?”

John rubbed up and down his arms vigorously, desperate to get him to stop shaking. To warm him up. Gale did nothing to resist it. He just stared at John and bit his lip, his expression pained as he looked away and closed his eyes, hands fisting in his lap.

thank you @gailiag for the tag! this was really fun to consider and work on, and it gave me an excuse to gpose again lol. it took me a while to decide if this fit Iverelle well or not--I always thought that Iverelle was the type of person who would always and forever do the right thing, and even in her worst versions of herself (like in a villain ending), she'd be doing it because she believed herself just. But, then I remembered one of Iverelle's key factors: She believes in the good of the people around her. She believes that her suffering is justified, therefore she will continue to suffer it until her final death, because it is worthwhile for the sake of the people she loves. She would shoulder every burden imaginable, if it meant the people she loves would never suffer. But what if she gave up on people? What if misanthropy and nihilism won over, and Iverelle decided that not only was her suffering not enough, but that people around her didn't deserve her righteousness? What if she decided enough was enough? After all, Iverelle has a certain friend who she could turn to, should the two of them decide this is the best course of action. She's never truly alone, after all. And all of her fights and all of her duels with Zenos, it's changed her. She knows he's not wrong, in claiming she's nothing more than a beast hunting for greater prey. What greater prey is there than all who roam the star? She would do it, then, turn against all who once stood with her, for the greatest challenge imaginable, for the greatest thrill. She'd give her detractors everything they wanted. She'd prove them right.

But don't worry. Iverelle's unwavering belief in the good of people is unwavering for a reason. She loves people. She believes in people. She knows that for every bad person out there, there's a hundred good people. She knows that for every opportunist who would profit off of the suffering of the masses, there are a thousand who will work to improve the lot of not just themselves, but those around them. Even after all the abuse she suffered growing up, Iverelle knows there's still good out there, and still good people--and so, it is worth it to take another step, as exhausting as it is.

3. What’s your favorite fic that you’ve written?

Ohhh I love all of my fics I truly do ;-; that being said though it would be illegal if i didnt say True Vengeance given that. Ive spent two and a half years so far writing it and i think about it Literally every day LMAO. “Favorite” simply does not encompass everything i feel about it ;_;

14. If you could see one of your fics adapted into a visual medium, such as comic or film, which fan fic would you pick?

Also True Vengeance !!! It would make the movie ever djdjdjdkdk. Okay for reals though, I do have like some half baked thoughts about doing a comic version of it (mostly as a long term way to improve my drawing skills) so. Who knows..?? Keep an eye out maybe. In like a few years xjxjdjdk.

15. How do you come up with titles for your fics/chapters?

Ooohh so some of them are really important and i know them incredibly well in advance. Sometimes im just like “eh yeah thats good enough.” I generally enjoy it when my titles (fic or chapter) have more than one meaning… thats good shit right there. I do have a certain chapter title scheme for my victor exchange fics, which is fun (its just a relevant noun for each but it looks cool trust me).

My fic titles generally just come to me in a burst of insight and im like ok yeah. Thats it right there, and i just Know. Sorry if thats like. Not helpful 😭 ik when i was picking my title for True Vengeance I certainly did not have as much of the story thought out as it is now so. It ended up working out really neatly (also its vague enough that i could work with it xkdkdk)

18. What’s one of your favorite lines you’ve written in a fic?

God… cue me taking a trip down memory lane for my favorite lines from all my fics.. but for the sake of the question i will. Just choose one. (Being strategic and doing this before i post the trv finale otherwise i will simply never shut up xjxjdjdk)

Uhh okay real answer, most of the time when i upset myself its like.. positive..? Like “dang i am Feeling Things about this line” or whatever, and i Love doing that. There Have been times where ive upset myself negatively though and. Do not recommend !!! Be careful out there kids ;-; i will say though, sometimes it can be a really good experience to work through something via writing, but still its beneficial to be cautious and take care of yourself♥️

1. Before our spring -jonghyun

This was the last song in his entire musical career and his life. I can't describe it really. I think a few texts arent enough for me to describe it. It's my only favourite song and it'll hold that position till i die. Even tho he's not here with us anymore, that song feels like he's still here with us really. The "then then then..." at the end kinda feels like a comma or a semicolon and not a fullstop. I think there are some things that you just can't get over with no matter how much time passes. So yeah, this.

2. Love poem -iu

I listen to this song everytime things get hard. This song doesn't really go "OH ITLL GET BETTER. ITLL BE COMPLETELY FINE" no. It says "I'll be there. Till this dark night ends". Sometimes- no, most of the times you don't really need advice or anything. You just need someone to just sit there with you when it feels like it's too hard to continue alone. This song is the perfect depiction of that. I dont listen to it that much bc it never fails to make me cry.

3. Promise -jimin

I love this song. Its just someone is giving you a hug irl. Like no cap. This is literally a hug in song form. I heard that jimin wrote it for himself to cheer himself up even when things get tough, to promise to continue on, and thats why it makes it even better for me. Even tho theres obviously the language barrier but i cant help feel what he's singing when i hear it.

4. Adult -sondia

☠️ ayo why is it all comfort songs. I say no description needed for this. It is what it is. Sondia's songs are always comforting in a way. It's not like Adult is very comforting but i think we all need to feel like "oh it's not just me who's going through it. I'm not alone in this" moment. This is the song for that moment for me.

5. To my youth -bol4

☠️☠️☠️ i have no idea how many times ive heard this song on repeat trying to internalize the meaning of it while crying my guts out. The lyrics are just 😭😭😭😭🫶 "but still maybe i could be a bright light in this world" the lyrics (im having goosebumps atp) make me bawl and hopeful at the same time.

Named after someone?: not someone, some place! My parents drove through a cute little New England stylized town in the middle of Florida and loved it so much they decided if their next child was a girl it would be her name. Cassia, Florida. So my name is Cassia.

Last time you cried: ya know funny enough I was trying to remember this a few days ago and I literally could not tell you. I may have done some single tear emotional TV moment cry, but an actual cry? Not in a long time.

Do you have any kids?: no, just two chinchillas and a hedgehog.

Do you use sarcasm a lot?: actually not really. Am I bitingly witty and snarky? Often. But I’m not often sarcastic.

What’s the first thing you notice about people: whether or not they laugh at my jokes. Honestly. If someone laughs at my jokes I know they are laidback and I warm to them so much faster. Also smiles. Love a good smile.

Eye color: Hazel, kinda a light golden hazel. I have a bit of green towards my pupil.

Scary movie or happy ending?: so like a scary movie with a bad end or a scary movie with a happy end? Or like a scary movie vs a rom com? To the first id say scary movie with a happy end. I prefer that. For the second? Just a scary movie.

Any special talent?: ehhhh well I guess the fact I’ve been a half way decent writer since I was like... ten. People are constantly trying to get me to publish my short horror stories but I just kinda suffer from a lot of self criticism. Also I can sing, I just only sing in the car.

What are your hobbies?: Video games, writing, sometimes art journaling but also just regular journaling. I build gundam models and used to be big into paper crafting until I switched to that. I know how to quilt too, but I haven’t done so in awhile.

What sports do you play/have you played: I enjoyed lacrosse in high school during gym but I never played on the team. It was really expensive and I was very withdrawn as a teen.

Favorite subject in school?: we had a photography lab course for art credits so definitely that. We had an entire dark room set up and it was the only thing that got me to come to school. Of the traditional subjects it was history.

Itara does the best she can to not have any accent at all.  But, when she’s been drinking (or is otherwise inibrated) it comes out.  And concidering her general state these days… that’s pretty much constantly.  The severity of the accent depends on the level of intoxication.  A mild buzz gets her with a slight country drawl, but once she starts getting properly sloshed she will start mushing words together like a really backwoods girl (full y'all'd've, style).  She’s also spent a significant amount of time in Limsa and around Pirates, so she can get a bit of that sort of inflection on some words, and has picked up a good deal of the slang.

Itara doesn’t have a very expansive vocabulary and doesn’t often speak in a grammatically correct way (to the ever irritation of Grammerly).  She often mispronounces words (especially foreign words) or uses words with the wrong meanings. And as I mentioned before, she will straight up combine words to make new ones.

Most are surprised when I tell them that Itara’s voice is supposed to be fairly… annoying.  She’s loud and shrill, and her voice tends more high pitched than the seductive velvety way most expect form a character like her. Especially her laugh.  We’ve all heard the woman laughing to loud at a restaurant and its like nails through the ears… That’s Itara.   And the drunker she gets the louder she gets.  Not that she can’t be seductive, and she often does take on a smoothness that dulls some of the sharp notes of her voice, its just not the default.

Itara rarely calls people by their real name (unless she’s mad at them).  If she knows them well they’ll end up with a specific nickname usually.  And she has certain pet names she uses for different races in general (Au’ra girls are all “dolls”, Miqo’te boys are all “kits”).  At the very least a person is a “darling” or a “dear”. If she’s not using pet names, it’s a sure sign that she doesn’t like you, even if her smiling face says otherwise.

A few other fun habits Itara has:  She does not introduce herself unless forced.  She will dodge doing so as long as possible. And in general, doesn’t like talking about herself (but she loves it when other people talk about her). Itara doesn’t say “please” or “thank you” (A constant struggle for my ever-polite ass during rp) and as a general rule is void of any manners.  And she will say what could be said in one word in 15.  She likes to ramble and chatter on endlessly.

Itara’s speech has a very specific set of rules I have to follow and if we are ever rping and it seems im taking too long to reply… likely I typed something and then realized it was either 1) too fancy for Itara or 2) too polite  and thus had to re-write the whole damn thing.    I really wish I had a dollar for every time I typed something and then went “nope, that words too big for Itara” and had to think of something else XD

nickname: my “grownup” nickname is “Chels.” For obvious reasons. When I was a teensy weensy lil thing, I was called “Worm” because I couldn’t stay still and because I would wiggle out of your arms. HIgh school into college, it became “Bones” because of my weight--not in a bad way--which some folks still call me. It’s ironic now because I’m fat. Heyyy-oooo.

every time i try to tell someone who is not used to my southern accent that my appendix burst when i was younger, they think i said my “penis burst”

i have chronic lyme disease and am a host to many other diseases and conditions. 

because of what i just said, i have lots of time to do stupid and sometimes boring stuff like watch movies and tv shows a lot (horror is my jam), do craftsy things like collages, read and write, and mainly just stare into the abyss.

also because of this, you can probably guess i have like no friends and am completely single. not expecting a pity party, just sayin’ 

sometimes i secretly like it when the power goes out because my dad and i  STILL get to make shadow figures on the wall. my favorite is when i make a guy eating soup who then chokes on it. he survives though!!

Maru!!! Ah, dammit where do I even start with you. Honest to god I still feel so awfully bad for writing that jonty hc so long ago, I feel it heavy like a fucking sin and one day when I die God’s gonna be like-You made that fifteen year old kid cry and you’re off to hell, asshole and I won’t fight him cuz #tru! So no matter what anyone tells me, I still feel awfully guilty about that, just because you are such a sunny and beautiful kid and all I ever want for you is to be a happy cupcake. And I think you’re honestly such a mature for your age person, like when I found out you were sixteen I was like what? What are those kids eating these days, at sixteen I was a fucking asshole who hated the world and couldn’t put one coherent well-thought sentence down. But nope, you ain’t like that! You’re smart and you’re so understanding and cool. I see all the different stuff you reblog all the characters you love and it makes my heart warm that there are people out there like you who aint biased lil shits. Also, I really wanna just kinda like wrap you in a blanket and hug you and take care of you cuz you is smol. And I’d like to spent an afternoon in the park with you where we just talk about jasper and maya and eat unhealthy stuff and maybe tease Kat, cuz what is life without teasing her.
