Palm on the beach who feels wanted, who feels useful - but who has so deeply equated his self worth to his actions that he cannot imagine a world in which Nueng wants him just for wanting.
Palm on the beach who feels wanted - but maybe that want is just a way for Nueng to get over Ben. Maybe Palm is just convenient. He doesn't mind.

The thai bls I've seen are great bc for the most part, the ones I've seen have main leads who are well-established bffs IRL and therefore have amazing chemistry. However, this also means we get shots like:

these two JUST met - there's absolutely no need for Pond to be throwing out laser-focused-eyes-of-a-yearning-puppy lvl. 20000 here even if it was pretty much love at first sight lmao
(100% not a criticism btw - it's very endearing)

I love Neung and Palm with my entire heart, but they really left the braincell that Neung is usually in possession of back in 2025, huh?

I think it's interesting that the cousins Neung and Chopper are falling in love with versions of each other. It makes sense that they'd let their guard down around someone that reminds them of someone they trust.

Alright, I finally finished never let me go, and OH MY GOD. Hands down, has to be one of the best finales I've seen from GMMTV yet. That whole scene in the warehouse? Beautiful, had me at the edge of my seat. I know some people would have rather a sad ending, but I'm a HEA girl all the way so that ending was just great for me.
Overall, the whole show was great; I was hooked from the start and stayed invested in the storyline throughout. I loved neungdiao and palm as individuals, as well as their chemistry together. The only real criticisms I have for the show are
1) I feel like Chopper and Ben were a bit rushed, so while I was happy they ended up together I couldn't get as in to them as I wanted to be. I think it's mostly that while we know that Chopper has liked him for a long time, I couldn't really tell when or why Ben fell for him. I wish they fleshed out this storyline a little more, maybe showed some flashbacks or given some solid backstory or something.
2) While I understood the intention and I can see how it aligns to their characters, the whole leaving storyline got a bit repetitive. The biggest irony of the show is it being called "never let me go", and yet having the leads constantly trying to leave each other because they think that it's better for the other. Again, totally understand why they did, but particular with when palm left, it just felt unsatisfying after they kept on saying "I'll never leave you, I'll stay with you for as long as you want me to" you know?
All in all tho, definitely recommend this watch. Nice to see gmmtv branching out with the type of content and stories they're making

@zeesqueere thank you for enabling me!! I am so annoying about them!!!
I have many Palm thoughts but specifically for this section it's like - GOD okay. Palm who is just desperate to be loved, to be wanted, and suddenly Khun Nueng likes Palm. Wants Palm. Khun Nueng, who is brilliant and gorgeous and amazing, likes Palm.
But it cannot be just because of Palm as a person because no one has ever just liked Palm (his mother is a person he knows only by name, he is only loved by his father as much as he is useful) so it must be because of Palm's usefulness, because of Palm's ability to protect. And he doesn't mind - he'll die if he has to for Khun Nueng.
And then Maggie is there - Maggie who is sweet and nice and talks to Palm and invites him places even though he offers her nothing. She seems to just... want to be his friend.
So he shows her around, takes pictures, watches as Maggie points out pretty scenery and makes notes to bring Khun Nueng there later. And Khun Nueng looks upset, like maybe he doesn't want to be here and maybe he really does. But Palm can't quite figure out why.
(It doesn't occur to him, that Khun Nueng might be jealous. Because why would he be?)
Nueng being jealous of Maggie but also Nueng wondering if maybe for Palm, their relationship is just something for the island.
Nueng being jealous of Maggie but also Nueng thinking about how he has only brought destruction and hurt to Palm, and how maybe it's better this way.
Nueng being jealous of Maggie but also Nueng wondering if he has any right to Palm (his time his presence his love his everything) because Palm was forced to be here, this is his job, and maybe Nueng is just that for him.
Nueng being jealous of Maggie but also Nueng being uncertain and hurting.

Thai dramas rarely make me cry, but Never Let Me Go Ep. 9 4/4?? My god did I just cry my eyes out.
The way that both Neung and Palm are so deadset on making the other one happy that they fail to realize what makes them happiest is the other person, espacially Neung in this case. Rips my heart out of my chest how they basically only have each other and not understand how much the other person needs them. Devestating
