I wrote a little something. Nerron x Will Reckless.

Cornelia didn't have to go "I loved you so much I forgot what hating myself felt like" so hard with Nerron seeing the malachite in his skin as a positive thing for the very first time because it echoes the green of the jade in Will's, but she did and I will never be normal about it.

The color of your skin reminds him of pearls. He also loves when you wear pearls, literally or metaphorically ;)

He wants to remind you that he loves you. Usually whispers it in your ear before kissing your neck.

Mała myszka = little mouse

Goyl are much taller than humans, so even if you're tall, compared to him you're short.

Kopalnia = Mine

Hentzau possessive and likes to remind you that you're only his.

Moja skarb = my treasure

To Nerron, you're the greatest treasure he has ever found. Someone who loves him, can put up with his attitude, and doesn't care about the malachite veined skin.

Kwiatuszek = little flower

He uses Kwiatuszek when he's teasing you.

Can we just talk about the fact that the fandom is so small? Seriously, books are absolutely awesome, Cornelia offers us a whole universe, and there are twenty people who talk about it? The fourth book was not even translated into French (I am French, but luckily I know enough about English to be able to read the book in that language anyway.) Why are there so many people talking about these books?

Nerron expresses desire to possess a female partner twice -let’s skip over the sexism of his worldview for now- but both of these declarations ring hollow. That Nerron wants the power and status that is conveyed by possessing a beautiful woman, not the women themselves.

When Nerron is being led astray by the winds, part of his fantasy is having a wife more beautiful than the dark fairy, but the core of this fantasy is the idea of surpassing Kami’en as a king, and surpassing Kami’en’s wife reads as just another facet. Since a part of Kami’en’s visible power is the love of a beautiful immortal, to surpass him requires a beautiful spouse of Nerron’s own. 

When Nerron captures Jacob in the vines and steals his mummified corpse pieces, he says he’s going to steal Fox as well, an expression of Nerron’s total victory over Jacob in this moment. Nerron wins, in his mind, by taking Jacob’s treasure, his reputation, and his love interest.

It’s worth noting that Nerron meets both Fox and the dark fairy, and in these scenes is not verbally attracted to them, or even particularly interested in them as anything other than enemies and rivals.

Based on a conversation I had with someone under a post in which I called Nerron a twink that should be on my blog but I can't find for the life of me:

So, for the... at most 12 people who will have an opinion on this. We know most Goyl are tall and broad shouldered. Nerron is smaller than average, but is he also slimmer?

Relistening to Reckless and Fearless audiobooks this week and the voice acting for Hentzau, Kami’en, and Nerron is unfair. I get sooo distracted with feelings👀😈
