in her final moments a miracle occurred and nero died knowing a human love. that miracle is the core of the heroic spirit nero claudius, the dream that "there will eventually be someone who will reach out to me". she says if it hadn't happened she would still be in that wilderness, slowly dying while waiting for something impossible. that is the death that belongs to the person nero claudius, freed from her mother's suffocating love even if it happened too late to change anything about her life.

draco did not receive that miracle. the shade of nero who continued to slowly bleed out in that wilderness without anyone to care for her in her final moments, whose evil love is in devouring all the world so that she will be there in everyone else's final moments instead. she calls herself draco, and beast VI/S, and sodom's beast, but not nero claudius. she did not get to die as a person, as the her who is herself, instead of the convenient tyrant and star of calamity that others saw in her. the beast drinking filth from the holy grail is the child still drinking from her mother's poisoned cup.

From previous asks it sounds like you really liked Lilim Harlot. If you haven't done so already would you like to talk about what you liked about this chapter?

It's just a really powerful and competent character study on Nero. Haganeya was as thorough as possible in covering her portrayal, drawing not only from Extra and Arcade but also from the manga adaptations, her interludes, her bond with Manaka, and more. It's tightly presented, it's triumphant, and it understands her down to the last detail. A Nero fan simply couldn't ask for more after this.

To contrast Tamamo and Nero rivalry Koyanskaya and Draco actually are very good friends, best friends even, gal pals, two bosom buddies, some would even call them.... roommates

Been meaning to put this to words, but Draco is so good because she's so Nero.

She doesn't change herself to fit into Chaldea's structure, to become another chess piece. She got too much of that under her mother's thumb.

She says she will stay a Beast. Unlike Tiamat and the other playable Beasts, Draco does not compromise on her own self.

She acts as arrogant as Nero- perhaps more, even. She is clearly somewhat selfish and self centered as Nero, yet she does not apologize. Less 'UMU' and more of what made Nero so compelling in the first place.

She refuses to change herself for ANYONE. Instead, Draco makes it clear that instead of losing herself i.e. turning to an Alter Ego, she will remain a Beast.

Because to deny her Beasthood means to hide Draco's true self.

And what she really wants is to be free. Free to be HERSELF.

Ironically FGO fans call those who have a problem with these pedophilic designs tourists with shitty excuses as to why they don’t like the designs. What are the optics of putting these “they’re supposed to be depraved” designs in a game where you essentially pay thousands to gamble and BUY THEM? how do you reckon with playing a game that profits off of this? because there’s 1 or 2 characters who are just your “skrunkly little blorbo” or “sexy epic france destroyer big tiddy goth waifu” or whatever inane bullshit?
