I HAVE TALKED ABT THIS SOOOOOO MUCH IN MY PREVIOUS HEADCANONS ON TIKTOK hobie acts heavily like someone who had a random glow up and still isn’t entirely used to it yet 😭😭 he’s very confident n casual but to the point where it seems SLIGHTLY forced, especially when he says “I was this cool the whole time.” like obviously i cld be reading too hard into it but the idea that hobie was never this cool is so cute to me, i love the concept of him being a little nerd in high school and just randomly getting hot and not entirely knowing what to do w himself yet 😭

he’d fs be the type to fawn over people, i cannot for the life of me believe his overconfidence isn’t a front almost. like he’s a pretty skinny lanky guy even if he does have some clear muscle you can still see, mainly only in his arms n shoulders. but the idea of hobie being this nerdy skinny awkward boy just a few years ago seems so possible. AND he’s smart like there’s no way he was this conventionally attractive his whole life.

spiderman’s whole thing is also often being this embarrassing, not really sought after nerd and then suddenly glowing up after being spiderman for a while. y’all think hobie skipped that awkward phase ?? NO i refuse

hobie acts overly confident to try and hide the fact he would’ve practically been a fan of you in highschool (and still is, bc he’s still a nerd no matter what)

Why do I see people only acknowledging that hobie is a british person and not taking into account that he’s a BLACK british person. I don’t often see BBE used in the works he’s in ..

Also, if any black british folk see this post and know about/speak in the dialect can y’all dm and help me understand it better so I can get to writing? Please and thanks I’d love to learn about it 🤭

Oh, more spoilers for Spiderverse but just realized smth

Across had two of my favourite character archetypes (?) Idk what to call them but:

One who seems all cool and epic but is actually a silly nerd. Hobie my beloved. (Still so very cool though!)

And a loser who turns out to be/becomes an actual threat. The Spot my beloved.

This movie is so good it's healing me from all the Sonic brainrot and that's saying something

Okay, the time has come. Swipe Right... is one of my all time favorite stories I have read!!! Also as a side note, I read the description behind why it is the activate your SIM card series. AND IT IS SO CLEVER. This might honestly be my fourth time reading this story and I didn’t even realize the double meaning for a dating sim until now and I absolutely LOVE IT.

Okay, back to this chapter.😂 Firstly, this Jungkook makes me want to fight because he’s so sweet and then the tables get turned so quickly!!! Poor OC. The way he is so shocked the first time he sees her but then she thinks they’re just nerd pals because they like the same video games! So wholesome but the betrayal is coming.

Also, I think Jin and Yoongi are winning so far for my most beloved side character. Jin with his jokes to break the tension in the beginning??? And then inviting her to scare people after she is upset? Amazing. And then Yoongi being so so supportive both following her panic attack and throughout the whole situation with Jungkook. We love supportive kings!!!!

But back to me ready to fight Jungkook. Honestly, I’m the biggest sucker for enemies to lovers so I already know I will end up coming around to not wanting to fight him, but that is not currently the point! The point is that he upset OC and hid his antics and it’s too deceptive.😂😂😂 Absolutely lived it though and the scene built the tension so amazingly and just Wowowow Kristi’s writing is once again amazing.

I really love how the characters are the same but just slightly different in this series! All the connections between Love Bytes and this one are A+. Yoongi and Hobi aren’t roommates yet but they will be soon is one of the biggest ones I noticed and I absolutely loved it! So so much love for this series and all of Kristi’s writings and will be continuing to scream about the rest of this series hopefully soon!
