My nevermo flatmate and I were discussing the name "Amos" because it was the name of a contestant on a baking show, the name is Hebrew and I said that I didn't remember any Amos in the bible and my flatmate looked the name up and said to me that there was a prophet named Amos in the bible and were two Amos' in the BOM, Amos son of Amos, and Amos son of "Neffy"

I laughed so hard, so hard, he meant "Nephi" and now I want to pronounce it that way in front of my TBM family, just for the giggles

I can see the points you're making, and given the current context, my stance on the two has become less critical, but I still am not a fan. When I originally posted this it was prior to VTB and sunny was still nephis's slave, leading to a power dynamic that could in now way be healthy. In regards to your point of sunny and nephis being opposites, kai and sunny work far better as foils, as while nephis started off as a great combatant and learnt to manipulate people, paralleling sunny starting as a great manipulator then learning to fight, Kai started off in the polar opposite position to sunny, he is a figure constantly in the lime light, while sunny is part of the class that cant even breath clean air. Whereas nephis learns from sunny, Kai is thrust into a parallel situation, as sunny loses his only form of defense, while Kai loses his support system, but on top of that Kai learns with sunny, while sunny becomes an incredible combatant, albeit one who stays out of the public eye, Kai becomes even more famous than he was before, and still stays roughly equal to sunny in regards to combat capability.

Back to nephis, and your point of both of them being fake, that dwindles the further the story goes, as early on nephis acts as she is, yet as she progresses she acts more and more like the role she forged for herself, whereas sunny becomes more and more honest about who he is, starting as a figure who weaves grand tapestries of falsehood before slowly and tentatively letting people know who he is, before promptly it dropping for Kai, cassie and neffie. Even in the most recent chapters he is still being incredibly true to himself, just only as pieces instead of as a whole.

I dont see how nephis and sunny is a good relationship, considering it was fundamentally built on a power imbalance, that continues to the present chapter.

P.s If this comes across as rude I'm sorry, I dont mean for it to be, I just really dont see all the stuff for nephis and sunny, when Kai and sunny is right there.

Over the last 100 or so chapter sunny and nephis have been getting together, and my main complaint has been dealt with

And I understand that the two best ships were never going to be included. However I cannot view sunny/nephis as anything other than comedic relief, the only few similarities they really have is being morons when it comes to emotions and having a divine lineage... by the same metric sunny and mordret would work great together

I still mourn both sunny/kai and nephis/cassie

RIP narratively fulfilling romance, you will be missed
