Earlier this year there was a landslide in Big Sur, leaving a large portion of Highway 1 useless. My best friend @sarahethridge and I had already been planning a trip to Big Sur, so we were wishing and hoping that we could still access a good portion of this incredible area on our road trip. Luckily, thanks to the incredible locals, there is now a trail up a mountain and through some redwoods that leads you to the other side of the road closure area. Big Sur is my favorite place in the world, so I was thrilled. We had @nepentherestaurant basically all to ourselves, and Highway 1 was practically empty. If you've driven the 1 through Big Sur, you know how crowded it can be. The 1 is set to reopen this fall, but this Big Sur trip was truly an incredible experience and something I will never forget. Even if the hike up the mountain left me soaked in sweat. Love this part of the country. 💙💚 (at Big Sur, California)
