We're told the photos of our kittens make them look much larger than they actually are. We're guessing sharing that they weigh 6.25oz and 1.9oz really doesn't give you a fair picture. Maybe a ruler will help. 🙀 The little one is hanging on by a thread. WAY too small to be away from momma. Birth weight is typically at LEAST 2.8oz. This is a 5 day old kitten at 1.9oz. Unless he was a premie who survived this long, he's tragically underweight. Welcome the newest loves to our team! Please meet the palindromes! 😅 *We just have far too much fun with names because we know the names aren't forever, but the families we search for are!* This outdoor mom kitty was set to be spayed and returned to her outdoor home when she surprised Santa Rosa County Animal Services with 4 little gifts in her kennel yesterday morning. Though we are sad this mom has to stay cooped up with us the next 6 to 8 weeks of her life, she will be kept in the quiet comfort of a foster home while she raises some exceptional and healthy babies. Our foster homes have filled up rather early this kitten season and we have more still waiting on space. Each time someone adopts from an organization which takes in animals in need, they open space for more lifesaving superpowers!🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️ Please remember this when you email and call us with your request for assistance... Our focus is not to help out our community after they've decided the kittens are no longer 'cute' and 'fun'. Our mission is not to take in healthy strays or robust adult cats who could easily be fixed and placed back in their community or adopted out. We are here as a resource to guide you to what each of us can do. We drive 300 miles every other week to help your animals get fixed at a reduced cost. We take in the fragile and struggling neonates who end up in shelters, or as orphans. We give out free pet food every month so you don't have to add that cost into a reason to surrender your furry family member. We're building a clinic to help those causes even more. Please meet the newest kitties... Mora is a beautiful little lady who is being treated for ringworm. We love our Crunchy Muffins! Tic and Tac are two tiny girls at just 9 days old. There were three when they were dumped at the shelter yet only 2 made it this far. The shelter is no place for tiny kittens. Frick and Frack are two big belly boys at just 5 weeks old. They are a little timid yet fun and loving. Our foster parents have taken everyone home and tucked them in for the night. Hopefully they're dreaming of their fresh start (because tomorrow is a new day). We love and welcome our newest kitties! We're happy to introduce our three newest members.... Elon, Musk, and Tesla are the product of an outdoor cat colony reproducing and abandoning the babies due to stress. When the breeding cycle just continues without any discrimination, the cats have no idea what's going on and the babies are left alone.. to starve and die. This is the three remaining babies of five. We have put our team on assisting the colony caretaker in getting his kitties fixed and vaccinated. These furbeans are not very strong and not doing the best at eating and retaining heat, but they are here and we are trying. These babies weigh just .3lbs....4.8oz Their eyes are barely starting to open.
