Note
An average interaction between Death and Nemeya;
Death: You're plotting
Nemeya: I'm not plotting.
Death: You're ALWAYS plotting.
Nemeya: Am not! And even if I was, which I'm not, but even if I was how would you be able to tell?
Death: You always pull the same face!
Nemeya I do not!
Death: You're doing it right now!
Quaboth in the background while smiling: I've missed this.
(They may be gods but they are siblings first)
I love this so much!!! đđ
Siblings will fight like siblings, even the ones that are millions of years old ahhah
Thanks for the ask!! đ€đ€

The final part of the puzzle, the ruins of Deathâs temple. Iâve added a few extra drawings to show the progress. Having started this when The Abyssal was dropped, this project is months in the making. I can no longer open this file on my tablet, so I guess this is it. I wish tumblr would let you zoom in on all the little details that I added and that transfer from tablet to computer wouldnât make every image greyscale. But, oh well.
Little details added to the Ruins of the Abyssal (starting from the bottom up)
1. The rug is from what I could gather when it comes to the @theabyssal lore. With the creatorâs âdeathâ, Sol and the Abyssal Oneâs creation as well as that of Hylaria. 2. The mosaics are of the Abyssalâs priests of the past. Some other sketches I made of the temple had urns lining the walls alongside a series of statues for both the gods and heroes from the past that have myths&Legends involved with Death. 3. The vase is that of an Amphora, commonly used to carry oil, keep offerings for the dead, or to signify graves. The Amphora vase in question is that of the three abyssal gods (that I know of) Death, Quaboth, and Nemeya (who both are also heavily depicted in the stain glass.) 4. The Bodies and bones, I tried to tapper down on the gore and I donât LOVE the shading in this file, but these are followers of death who were left to die in her temple. the main four bodies have signs of decay but are Incorruptible. A type of mummification where the body appears to not decay. Common in saints. Itâs a really interesting topic and I totally suggest reading up on it. 5. The statue of death, ensnared in ivy with her hands chopped off. Death staring up at the sky with an almost somber expression not too dissimilar to that of the Madonnaâs enthroned pose. A form of imagery often used by artists involving Mother Mary during the Byzantine empire.
- Ivy symbolizes eternity and fidelity often times with poison ivy it can showcase a sense of internal struggle.
6. Columns from the bottom up. (Note that the columns are heavily based off of ancient greek art.)
- Deathâs awakening and darknessâs arrival. I see darkness as being able to take on the visage of some eldritch tentacled sea-goat. (capricorns deserve more recognition I swear.)
- Death and Sol meet with some animals in the background! Cranes and Peacocks to symbolize harmony (cranes), grace (both), and passion (peacocks.)
- A battlefield with the appearance of wraiths and the twins in the form of bulls!!! Which makes so much sense in my opinion! They should totally have cows as familiars.
Gods partying, came from a little fan myth snippet I wrote. Involving the gods getting together to create the various different races.
Sol and Death being a couple <<<3 I donât know why but I see them as being total dorks and going on solar eclipse dates. It just makes sense. (I also wrote a small fan myth involving Darkness blotting out the sun so that Sol and Death could get together. I might post it later) Also involved in the portrait is that of some little soul creatures. I know itâs probably not true that animals have souls but I feel it in my soul.
Death leading the lost souls into her domain. An excuse to draw different figures and shapes.
Top is Sol and Deathâs wedding!!! Itâs so cute and I love it. Yes I am very much a Death/Sol dumbass.
After the column art is that of Death and her pet. How they met, that sort of thing. I did have a brief idea of death taking her shade-snake as a pet when it saved her life or something like that.
the very top is just a time lapse of Deathâs power. Starting from the abyss, to nymph, bride, matron, capture, and her escape.Â
7. Stained glass (left) Nemeya. This stained glass is dedicated to the moon and secrets goddess herself. With a multitude of images involving court gossip, her time in the abyss with her siblings, meeting the gods, love affairs, thieves, and lastly, her betrayal of Death.
- The flowers found in her glass mosaic is that of Orange Marigolds which symbolize death and broken love. A perfect symbol for the Moon goddess and her sister who she betrayed.
8. Stained glass (right) Quaboth. Volcanoes, smoke, and lava burning brightly. With scenes involving how Death and Quaboth met, the abyssal gods wandering the land after leaving the abyss, and his betrayal of Death (stylized as i imagine that he wasnât there for the initial stabbing.)Â Flowers involved in Quabothâs is that of:
- Bleeding hearts oftentimes symbolize love and kindness. In this case, it is familial affection since I see them as having been quite close at some point.
Hemlock, found at the very bottom shows that there has been a strain in their relationship. A poison, in the language of flowers hemlock, means: You will be the death of me.
Orange Dahlias originally far more numerous in my sketch is that of change in the relationship.
In essence the relationship between Quaboth and Death is strained and uncertain for the future.
9. Stained glass (top/center) Sol. My deathâs spouse, the one who did not rescue her when she needed him most. Solâs mosaic plane is rather broken, empty. Showing only his ascension as the king of the gods and her âcorruptionâ so to speak. With her tendrils reaching out to ensnare him. That isnât to say that their original relationship wasnât bad. Itâs just that death... isnât very happy with him. Other scenes are that of the cycle of life, deathâs domain, and their union.
 - The flowers, yellow roses, are intrinsically bound to Solâs character. Found in the demo. Yellow Roses often symbolize sickness, affection, a broken heart, and a betrayal so severe that the relationship is in jeopardy. (Probably not the best thing to give to your wife.) These roses are my favorite part of Solâs scenes.
10. Weather, behind the stained glass is actually Deathâs escape, obscured by her temple. Only a small town can be seen as the world goes dark. Wraiths materializing in wait for their mistressâ return.
And yeah, thatâs about it. God iâm so excited for the next update!

Can you please list all the deities who were very much "up" to torturing Death?
I need it for... Reasons
I'm making a kill list
Hahha for sure!
That would be Chamion, Hulda, Helmos, and Namur, although the latter didn't do it purely for sick satisfaction...
Nemeya's role I'm keeping a secret for now, but she indeed knew about what the other gods were planning.
And, of course, enemy Sol. However, if Death has a crush on the enemy Sol the situation changes slightly...
Thanks for the ask!! đ€đ€

does romanced sol still wear the necklace visibly? or do they hide it under clothes or something? if its visible, what do the other gods think of them still wearing it?
They wear it visibly, and they never take it off. The gods have mixed emotions about it. Death's enemies (Chamion, the twins, and Namur) surely don't like the open display of loyalty, and most of them sneer at the sight.
Amorr takes the sight as a gruesome reminder of their past actions, guilt squeezing their heart every time. Nemeya is not at all bothered by it, but she thinks the whole thing just serves to accentuate how emotional connections get in the way of ambition. Vaal leans more to the not caring side, but she also thinks that is a bittersweet gesture, and it reminds her of a time she would rather forget.
Quaboth have not come into contact with Sol since Death's imprisonment, the only deity allowed in the underworld aside from Nemeya is Amorr, and they don't dare mention any of the Furyan gods to the god of fire. So he doesn't know that Sol still carries the jewel he forged so openly.

Heeeey!~~~ I absolutely loooove the update! It is top tier and I can't wait to see where your story goes. I just have one tiiiny question: I vaguely remember you saying one of the gods wanted/has a thing for Sol...after reading the update is it a fair guess it's our dear old sister Nemeya?
Heeey! So glad you liked it!!
This is a pretty frequent ask, which for the moment shall remain a mystery... đ€«đ€«

Chamion didn't think about us escaping? Like I have complete access to your wifes soul and can literally torture her forever.
Chamion, and the twins, were pretty much in the dark on how the rods and the chains that kept Death imprisoned actually worked. The only ones who knew Death would eventually be back was Namur, the god of wisdom and foresight, Nemeya, and Sol.
But you are right, Death had access to Lyssandra's soul and Chamion was hoping that, with Death out of the picture, he could somehow have her back...

I have a question how did deaths sister feel when the idea of betraying death came up where they a willing participant or a reluctant one?
Nemeya definitely took her time no analyze the situation from all sides, the pros and cons of making such harsh decision. She does harbor love for her siblings, and in her own twisted way doing what she did was preparing Death for future developments, but she also did it for hew own selfish reasons.

Quaboth it is literally to late to find common ground between the sibling who locked up the other one for years in immense pain. Literally everything that has been said about Nemeya hasn't been positive.
I agree, that's the main reason Quaboth will give up on finding common ground between them if Death is really dead-set in not giving Nemeya a second chance. But if Death finds in their essence a sliver of forgiveness, Quaboth will try to bring the siblings back together.

If Sol/Death had kids, whta type of uncle and aunt would Death's siblings be?
Hii, good question!!
I think Quaboth would be the dotting and fun kind of uncle, the type to shower the kids with gifts and helping them get into all sorts of mischief. He is known across Hylaria as the favorite divine of the little ones.
Nemeya is the total opposite of fun, not that she will purposely mistreat the kids but she will be aloof and kind of indifferent towards them. She will definitely be plotting behind the scenes on how to use their influence and power when they grow up.
Thanks for the ask!! đ€đ€

Is there anyone the remaining abyssal gods regret or especially regret not being able to save?
Oh, yes! It is good to remember that before the war between the trio and the minor abyssal deities happened, they had been sharing a realm for thousands of years, so relationships were formed. And Quaboth is definitely one to regret killing most of his brothers and sisters. Nemeya, for the most part, do not, but she is a difficult woman to read.

Death, Quaboth and Nemeya all living together in the Abyss? How did that work exactly?
Same as it does for the Furyan deities. Each deity has their own realm, not accessible by any conventional means except with their explicit permission, the Abyssal Triad is no different. You will get a glimpse of their realms in future updates!

So Nemeya had something to do gain from sealing her other sibling?
Absolutely! Nemeya never does anything without a purpose or an end goal.

Hey, I'm the guy who asked how Death's siblings were even corrupted. I meant how did they become the Fallen Terrors.
Oh, you meant Death's "other" siblings, got it.
Well, you could say that it all started with the Abyss' influence on their essence. The Abyss, or the place where Death and their siblings were born, is not only a dark and inhospitable place but it also drains and corrupts everything under its influence given enough time. It only took one deity to fall prey to this nefarious influence for hell to break loose. It can be compared to a zombie outbreak đ
And mind you, this entire process took thousands of years to happen. Death and their siblings were all living together when disaster struck. Quaboth and Nemeya were the only ones at the time to escape corruption, fighting with Death against their siblings. In other words, Death, Quaboth, and Nemeya decimated most of the Abyssal Pantheon.
Thanks for the ask!! đ€đ€
