A very belated story written for @peculiarreality @peculiarreality-main
This story revolves around Hunter!Ellis. He hasn’t fully turned, and it seems as though he’s gotten lucky; if you could consider pointed canines, glowing eyes, and claws lucky. He’s still Ellis, mostly, but he can’t help but doubt himself. He can’t help but fear himself, which leads to him distancing himself from the person he cares about most in an effort to keep him safe.
Nick thinks that’s bullshit, naturally.
‘That hadn’t stopped Nick from deciding to risk himself.
“You don’t trust the military,” he’d continued. “After what we saw in New Orleans, neither do I.” He’d leveled his teammate with that ice-colored stare. All Ellis could remember feeling, though, was spiraling warmth in his chest.
“I’m going with you,” Nick had finished.
The mechanic had let it lie there, guilt and relief and fondness wrestling within his ribcage.’
