Have you ever shared what your TES toons look like in-game?

I have not! I have many, many assorted playthroughs floating around in my 20 year history with TES (oh god) but I seem to either rarely take screenshots of characters orrrr the playthroughs are long gone.

That said, I have been dabbling in a recent re-playthrough of Morrowind to do research for writing Tev/Dren's story (maybe this time I'll actually get to Tribunal lol), so I DO have a screenshot of Tev! Not super exciting, but I DID make a custom face texture for her.

I already knew Legacy of the Force would be filled with occ stuff and my expectations were low, but even then I'm kinda just blinking because

There's literally a separate phantom Lumiya isn't controlling in her cave rambling about how it will soon possess Jacen at the start of the series. Like??

Lumiya: Vergere was a Sith. Here's how she was trained by Palpatine around the time he was training Dooku despite the fact that she left Republic space around the time Anakin Skywalker became a Padawan

Jaina goes from not giving a shit about the Chiss Swarm War incident at the start to 'I hate my brother so much for that', with the kicker line of claiming she tried to reach out to him when she noticed him going dark which, uh - when?

Jacen himself literally comes across as possessed. There are several instances where he just starts talking to a voice that is edging him on

On that note, Alema straight up Force influenced Jacen into shooting his parents while they were rescuing Jaina Ben and Zekk. Dark Nest abilities aside, what? This is followed in the next book by The Voice convincing him firing on the Millennium Falcon was the right choice

Aeran. Pre-Spire: Quiet and very hesitant of doing the wrong thing, but had a wide-eyed curiosity about the world around him. Smarter than people gave him credit, but he tried to downplay that. Post-Spire: Loud, mischievous, starting swearing much earlier than expected and Varyn wasn't entirely sure where he picked up all those cuss words (side-eyeing Sero).

Alexia. Shy, reserved, didn't make friends easily. Preferred books to people. Made a little fire sprite out of conjured magic when she was 12 and talked to it like a friend, only to have it snuffed out by a Guild instructor.

Ren. Very protective of Raven and Ves. Willing to get his hands dirty for them and not think too much about it. Best thief in the Narrows, but no one ever caught him or knew who he was. Found it very funny.

Calla. Rambunctious and curious. Always trailing after her sister Cerys. Ravenous for information, eager to test the limits herself rather than be told. The kind of kid likely to put their hand on a hot stove after being told not to just to see what happens for themself.

Jacen Solo and I need to have a talk… when Yoda said to the effects of ‘the future is never certain’ he meant it. Jacen, you decided to kill a fellow Jedi, a previous student of yours no less, because you could only see futures in which Luke died should she live. That’s not ok my friend, we don’t commit murder on a maybe.

Ignoring Lumiya’s potential influence on his force visions at that moment, which I believe to be a very real possibility given she hid all of her Force activities on Toryaz station from an entire retinue of Jedi Masters, Jacen is ignoring that he’s only looking from that single point in time. There are many, many more chances to shape a different outcome, but to me it seems like Jacen is far too confident in his own abilities to even consider that. During the events on Lorrd, he only considered Nelani’s input after a strong talking to, and even then he ruthlessly made the final call irrespective of what his fellow Jedi thought. He never asked for Ben’s input either, despite having the opportunity for teaching moments. Jacen believes himself to be the best man for the job in whatever situation he’s in, and it leads him not to question his judgment ever. He eases his conscience by saying it was the answer he came to by trusting in the Force, just as Luke taught him to, but again, he never stops to question if his own biases are influencing his interpretation of the Force. Even when his colleagues (and betters) disagree with his interpretation, he dismisses them as not having the training he does and therefore, once again, he can’t be wrong. Lumiya plays to this during their debate in the end chapters, and succeeds magnificently.

So, Jacen, let’s step back a bit and take some chill pills, maybe take a ‘lil vacation to learn some humility, before you royally fuck your family and the galaxy up. Deal? Deal.

In general, I’m excited by the prophecy-type story element (very Star Wars) set by the beaded sculpture and I’m hopeful it’ll be subverted in an interesting and even more exciting way (very very Star Wars). Now that I have most of the books, this time I’m promising myself to actually finish the series.
