Ngl, I'm not in space yet where I can separate the art from the artist. It really fucking sucks, because his work got me through a REALLY hard holiday season. (It was my first Christmas as a single woman after two years of being in an abusive relationship. Everyone in my family does their own thing except me and my dad so it felt SO isolating. I can't tell you how much I resonated with Nina and her arc. No one talks about it enough.) I'm still queuing some GO posts but I'm putting them at the back as much as I can. Because thinking about the whole Situation as a SA survivor makes me nauseous. And watching/consuming GO right now just reminds me of the Situation.

This post is not to shame people who are still active in the fandom, btw. It's more a quiet wave to other SA survivors out there. You are seen. And loved.

i think kevjean's elopement happens very out of the blue. there's not a proposal so much as there's a moment where it dawns on them when they're tipsy and giggly. here's how i think it happened

jean into kevin's mouth: let's get married next month

kevin: next WEEK

it was really a spur of the moment! it's the kind of throwing-responsibilites-out-the-window elopement kevin will panic about hours later when they're legally married and in a plane to the french countryside, but by then its already done and jean is just very good at distracting him about the consequences. they stay around 3 months unperturbed in their countryside domestic life honeymoon until andrew shows up at their cabin with killing intent because what the FUCK kevin day we thought you got KIDNAPPED*

*they (andrew, neil, wymack, abby, possibly jeremy) knew kevjean eloped but they figured a month would be enough for a honeymoon. in the second month they start to get worried and ask stuart to track them down

it's probably a given but do you think when crowley said "we could've been us," he didn't just mean their "group of two" but the versions of themselves that they had become? the versions that had been shaped by the place they fell in love with and protected so fiercely? they could've wholeheartedly, unapologetically been the "us" they'd always wanted to be.

romance or no, what mattered most (aside from the world) was "them" as a unit. the "us" that allowed for "them" to come into existence. aziraphale and crowley aren't the same angel and demon they were at the start. couple or no, they were both changed (arguably for the better) by the world they lived in and by being around each other.

i wonder if crowley is hoping that even if they're not an "us," that they're still "them" - still those versions of themselves they've evolved into. aziraphale, too.

I posted this mostly in an attempt to get my brain to no longer dwell on possible Neil Gaiman books I could read with my class so I could finally go to sleep around 1 am my time, thinking if I get three suggestions out of this, it's a win. Never did I expect anything like this.

Hc that Neil Josten has an insanely high pain tolerance yet says 'ow' to everything. Bumped his knee on the coffee table? Chirps out a little 'ow' subconsciously. Knocks over his water bottle with his foot? Instinctively says 'ow' as he leans over to pick it up, nevermind the fact it barely taped his shoe. Andrew watches him do this at least a dozen times before he has to say something when Neil drops something that doesnt even touch him but he still mutters an 'ow shit' before scooping it up.

the funniest thing i remember thinking before i actually read aftg was that andrew won’t be an important character. i knew neil and andrew would become a thing but i never expected them to become THE thing. I thought there will be some little side moments but nothing more. more imagination in how they’re gonna develop than actually seeing them develop. but those boys fell so hard and unshakable that i can’t imagine a world where they are anything but everything for one another.

that tiny man became neils world and it just felt right. they became everything while i thought they’re gonna be a little something. a little hook up. i was as flabbergasted as andrew realizing they’re anything but that.
