Ruislip noise-nuisance bar ordered to pay more than £14,000 court costs

The license-holders of a noisy Ruislip bar have been ordered to pay more than £14,000 in court costs after failing to overturn Hillingdon Council's decision to reduce the hours for regulated entertainment on their premises licence.   In January this year, the council's Licensing Sub-Committee agreed to reduce the hours of the bars regulated entertainment, to end at 11pm, following complaints from neighbouring residents of late-night noise dating back to summer 2019.   The licensees initially appealed the council's decision, and the appeal was due to be heard at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court in November but it was abandoned by the licensees after the court dismissed their application to adjourn.   The council then applied for costs and was awarded costs in full by the court, totalling £14,357.50.   #ruislip #noise #latenightnoise #noisenuisance Read the full article
