Killer Instinct

Negan Smith & Reader

Years passed after the war and Negan had earned back his trust. How, you ask?

A herd broke through the weakened walls of Alexandria. Everyone was fighting and trying to come up with a plan to lure them away but no matter what people tried there came no end to the undead.

All while Negan sat in his cell. Locked away and having a hard time following rules as your screams tore through the room, your figure ran down the stairs and locked the door that gave in only second later which had a pile of walkers tumble down the stairs and blocking off the only exit.

And you had no key to the cell..

Negan gave in and apologized in his own sassy way before tearing the steel barred door off its hinges and using it to block walkers as he changed. His monstrous form hunched over in the minimal space the hallway and roared before crushing the closest walkers with the door and clawing his way through the dead that kept coming. His fur quickly stained black with undead blood and rotting guts as he kept violwntly tearing through the undead and glancing back to see if you were alright. Eventually the stream started slowing down and there was a way out but your ankle snagged on a limb and you fell hard.

Negan could have left you and ran, but he kept his claws digging into the few walkers stumbling in and throwing them before grabbing you up in one arm and snapping bones with the other as he made his way up and outside.

There he set you down against the fence and continued to let out his rage and keeping you safe.

This challenge is (obviously) in honor of spooky season, so let’s jump right in! 👻

quote: “How could you?”

challenge: The killer must be a canon character from your chosen era, and your kills must also be canon characters from your chosen era. Killer cannot be Daryl or Reader. Killer also cannot be a canonical villain (like the Governor, Termites, Negan, Alpha, etc.)

advantage: Kills can be done with any weapon of choice, to any character of choice.

Supernatural

summary: A (supernatural creature of your choice) is terrorizing and killing off members of the group. What is it? What does it look like? How does it kill? More importantly, how will the survivors kill it?

challenge: Supernatural creature cannot be a ghost, demon, or other spirit of any kind.

advantage: Your supernatural creature can be a classic (werewolf, vampire, wendigo, etc) or it can be something completely original and unexplainable. This gives freedom to describe your monster with as much/little detail as you please.

Paranormal

summary: A paranormal force has made its presence known and brought pain and terror upon its victims. Maybe it’s a demonic possession taking over one of the survivors, maybe it’s an angry spirit taking its home back. You decide!

setting/era: —

kill count: —

quote: “Kill it!” / It’s already dead!” / “So are the walkers!”

challenge: Your paranormal entity must not be visible to the human eye, creating an extra layer of difficulty for the survivors.

advantage: Kills are optional. No mandatory setting/era.

FAQ

Do major characters have to die (like Rick, Carol, etc) or do minor characters (like Olivia, Axel, etc) count towards the kill count as well?

Anyone can die!

Can my supernatural creature be anything that isn’t a ghost or spirit?

Yes! Could even be an alien!

Can I write a story for multiple prompts and only use one for the challenge?

Sure! You can even post them! Just be sure to specify which one you’d like to enter in the challenge, even if you do so by just sending me a message.

For the Slasher prompt, who qualifies as a villain?

Good question. Lots of morally gray characters on TWD, so it can be hard to decide who’s a villain and who’s just an asshole. For our purposes, let’s say Negan, Alpha, the Termites, and the Governor are the villains that are off limits.

My Cegan-comrade, I am so glad you've brought up this topic because I have so many Cegan AUs planned...

In no particular order:

🌶️ I have an A/B/O AU where Carl is an Omega and Negan claimed him during the line up so that Rick won't be tempted to fight him.

🦇 A vampire AU where Rick is a vampire hunter that has been hunting Negan, one of the oldest vampires in America. But when Carl gets into a deadly car accident and falls into a coma, Rick makes a deal with his sworn enemy and asks Negan to turn Carl into a vampire to save Carl's life.

🐺 A werewolf AU where Carl is a werewolf whose pack is being taken over by Negan's bigger, badder pack, and Negan decides to take Carl as his war prize.

💰 A non-apocalypse AU which is basically a reverse sugar daddy/sugar baby story. Carl is in his early 20s and became insanely rich after selling his app to a tech giant and now lives in luxury. Meanwhile Negan, who used to be Carl's PE teacher, is now a widower who has just been kicked out of his job for beating up someone. Unbeknownst to Negan, Carl has been madly in love with him since his high school days and jumps at the chance to help Negan financially.

Honestly at this point, the brainrot is set in far too deep. Chances of recovery are next to 0. 😔

Prompt: Silver

Pairing: Daryl Dixon x Tabby (oc)

Warnings: Gunshot wound; field surgery

Tabby had no idea what she was doing. All she knew was that Daryl was dying and she was the only person that could do anything to try and stop it. There was no guarantee that removing the bullet would stop the spread. Veins were blue and bulging, spreading from the wound like a web. Each moment she wasted was a moment closer to losing him.

Goddamn Negan. He knew what Daryl was. He fucking knew and when Daryl wouldn’t create his werewolf army, he shot him. With a fucking silver bullet. Tabby had been running on pure adrenaline and fear when she busted him out, fully expecting him to shift. He couldn’t. His body was failing. The curse was restrained by the poison running through his system. Fuck fuck FUCK!

“Hold on, baby. Please, hold on for me.” She doused the wound with whiskey, the only thing they had that might work as a disinfectant.

Daryl’s back arched when the liquid filled and poured across the bullet hole in his stomach. “Ya gotta—fuck, get it out.”

“I know. Stay awake.” His energy was flagging, his blue eyes fighting to stay open. The redhead was quick to unbuckle her belt, folding it once, and pressing it against his mouth. “Bite down, baby.” It took him a moment to comply, lips trembling when he finally parted them.

Tabby took a few quick, steadying breaths and pressed hard on the tip of the knife. She could only hope his ability to heal at an accelerated rate would kick in and he’d be fine. But the screaming. Even behind the belt, he was wailing, arching off the ground with each maneuver of the blade.

“I’m so sorry, baby. I’m so—” The tip of the knife caught against metal. “Just a little more. Almost.” His hand grabbed onto her thigh, squeezing so hard Tabby thought he might actually break the skin. Pushing a little deeper, she was able to get the blade beneath the slug and pop it out. It hit the ground and rolled, her hand clumsily chasing it and finally snagging it. Lifting it to eye level, she let out a relieved sob. It seemed to be whole. It was possible that no fragments remained. “I got it, baby. It’s out.”

Daryl spit out the belt, bleary eyes finding her face. “Ya did good, Spitfire.”

To her eyes, nothing was changing. The hole remained, blood weeped from the wound, and the veins still bulged and pulsed. With more than a few tears, she gently lifted Daryl’s head to rest on her thighs, wincing with the pressure added to where he had held onto her. “It’s not healing. What do I do? Tell me what to do, Daryl!”

He chuckled. “S’okay, Tabby-cat. S’healing. S’gonna take a little longer. The silver—it—I’ll be able to walk soon an’ we’ll go home.”

She nodded, tears falling onto his cheeks. “I’ll be able to take care of you at home.”
