Gotta get this off my chest because oh my gosh it's living rent free in my head and I have almost nobody to gush to about it. Alongside Formaggio, I ship my self-insert Viola with Tiziano and Squalo (separate verse). It's a situationship between the boys until Viola walks in and acts as a catalyst that changes situationship into relationship. It brings all three of them together (since she loves both of them) as a *gasp* healthy ship with Tiziano and Squalo. Whenever I see a reader paired with them, they're treated like third wheel or some toy they're playing with until they grow bored. But with Viola, I made a slow burn where she gets close with both the boys. And when feelings are confessed, the boys finally decide to take the final leap with each other, Viola by their side. To make her feel welcome, they always display their love to her in different ways. I mean, if she was a little toy to them, they'd be cold and wouldn't bother with her. But the boys love her and each other teehee. I commissioned somebody recently and am waiting for the finished pic eeee. If you wanna check her out, she has a tag of 'viola irving'

Aww, that's sweet. It's always nice to have some good ol' slow burn. That's good that they both show her love and make sure not to make her feel left out or anything! We love to see some healthy ships fr <3 But aah that's great!! I'm sure that piece will turn out wonderful! I'm excited for you!

Meet Cutes: 28. mistaking the other for their friend and getting embarrassed when they turn around

You were supposed to be meeting up with a friend by the pier, but you didn’t anticipate it being so crowded today. Usually finding your friend would be a much easier feat than this, but you knew when it was crowded like this you two would meet up at your meeting spot. The spot in question was a small little restaurant by the pier which usually wasn’t that busy so you hoped finding them would be easy. Today was proving to be challenging enough… even the restaurant that usually isn’t that crowded had a line outside of the door. You couldn’t help but wonder what was going on - was there some kind of special going on? With such a great crowd in front of you, it was difficult to see what had drawn a big crowd. You decided to call your friend, at least they managed to answer you even if it was hard to hear them.

“Hey… Are you here?” you asked, having to repeat yourself a couple of times before being able to hear their response.

“...Yes…. Crowded. My hand… Do you see me?” Your friend responded, although some of their words are hard to hear you get the gist of what they’re telling you.

You begin to look around and look for a hand raised in the crowd. When you see the hand in question, you start to head in that direction. You’re hoping this is your friend but it’s difficult to tell from this point. When you finally make it towards the general direction you saw your friend’s hand you see someone from behind you believe to be them. You would know that jacket anywhere - it was definitely theirs!

With such confidence, you tap their shoulder still not getting the best look at the person in front of you but you know your friend well enough to recognize them from the back… Or so you thought.

“Yeah?” The guy who turned around didn’t exactly look too friendly. 

“Oh… Oh gosh. I’m so sorry. I thought you were someone else.” You lower your head feeling embarrassed by this encounter. You wanted to turn around and rush off, but with the crowd behind you it was difficult to get away from your embarrassment.

“Don’t worry about it. It’s too crowded today. It’d be hard to find whoever it is you’re looking for.” Formaggio reassured you, he could tell by your expression you must feel a little embarrassed just now. 

“Yeah…It’s normally not like this.” You laughed a little awkwardly, still looking down at your feet, “I’m sorry… My friend has a jacket that’s very similar to yours so…”

Formaggio chuckled at this, “Your friend has good taste. I gotta thank them for that.”

His words caught you off guard and made your cheeks feel warm - was it just your imagination or was that remark a bit flirty? You slowly looked up now, getting a better look at this guy. He was pretty cute actually - you especially enjoyed how dark his eyelashes were. It just made looking into his eyes feel hypnotizing. 

“Yeah…I guess you should.” You say with a smile, you sure hope he was flirting with you or else you’re going to want to try and turn around to leave the scene as soon as possible.

“Sorry I’m not your friend, but maybe you could stick around with me  until you find them? I mean, if you don’t mind. No pressure though…. Ah, that might be kinda weird coming from a guy you just met, huh?” Formaggio didn’t sound too shy about asking though - he was watching you carefully to see your reaction.

Of course you still planned on meeting with your friend, but if this cute guy didn’t mind keeping you company in the meantime you weren’t going to turn him down either.

“Alright, sure… I don’t mind. It could be fun.” You’re still smiling in his direction. Maybe going to the pier on a crowded day wasn’t such a bad idea after all.

Well, not quite self-ship but oc x canon was included in this so here we go. Putting under a read more since there's a lot.

For Formaggio/Viola:

3. What does your f/o's friends / family think of your relationship?

Oh, her family definitely doesn't approve. After controlling so many decisions in her life, babying her, and isolation...they obviously think she's incapable of leading a life without them (or somebody trustworthy) holding her hand and making decisions for her to keep her “safe” (They don't trust her). So when they learned about about it, her father was appalled. How could his little girl be in a relationship with an assassin that works for the italian mafia? She should know better! Her mom is a little more lenient. It leaves a bad taste in her mouth that her daughter is with an assassin from the italian mafia, but she wants her daughter's happiness. She doesn't like the decision Viola's made, but she's not as stubborn as her husband. She can see her daughter is happy and safe, and that's what's important. Most of the pushback is from her father.

5. How does your SI/ OC influence your F/O's canon story?

She doesn't influence it much. The two of them met a year prior from the events of part 5 at a bar Formaggio likes to go to. Canon diverges at his battle with Narancia. Instead of being instantly killed, I put it so he's on the verge of death. It aired on the news of how a street was filled with flames and they described the features of a John Doe found on the scene. He's stabilized in the hospital but doctors are confused on how he's riddled with holes but no bullets. Thankfully one of the surgeon's at the hospital was a stand user took over. He was able to remove almost all the bullets and treat his heavy 2nd degree burns with some skin grafting. When Viola finally finds him, the poor girl is just glued to his bedside as he lays comatose for a few days. Instead of being dead, he's simply labeled as 'out of commission'.

6. What does your F/O love most about you / your OC?

How she's just a big bundle of sunshine with him. She's so goofy and laid-back that it's easy to be around her and he gets a couple of laughs at how ridiculous she can get sometimes. With the dark and grim job he has, she's an oasis in the desert that hydrates him – whether it's been a long day or he's feeling a bit down.

10. How does your F/O's stand express their affection to you? If your OC/SI doesn't have a stand let's assume they can at least see/feel their loved ones stand.

Hm...never thought of that, actually. I imagine Formaggio isn't very savvy with words when it comes to conveying affection. He's more of a physical and gift giving affection guy. He's always kind of awkward when he's talking about lovey-dovey shit and stumbling over his words a bit since he's not sure how to phrase it without coming off like some uncool sap. But the message always gets across. Little Feet though...oh man, take Formaggio's physical attention and multiply it by five. This stand is not afraid to show how much it loves Viola. Cuddling her real close, nuzzling her. This always leaves Formaggio flustered, because a stand's personality, actions, and appearance are influenced by the user's soul. Meaning...he super loves her more than he's showing to her. He's probably going “Stop it, Little Feet!”.

12. What is the perfect date for you and your F/O?

For Viola, she just loves going to places. Whether it's around town or a small day trip to another area. She likes getting out of the house to see new things and spend time with the cheese man. Formaggio, however, tends to lean towards staying inside and cuddling. Whether they're just watching movies, TV, or playing a board/video game. Maybe take a lil nap. But he's more than willing to indulge in his little princess's desire to go places. He just wants to see that bright, cheerful smile that lights up his day.

14. What do your family / friends think about your F/O?

Her roommate, Anguria, was a little displeased at first. Out of all the people around, why him? She and Formaggio know each other but aren't on the best terms. But as Viola (and occasionally Anguria herself as well) spends more time with Formaggio, he rubs off on Anguria. So she has a bit of a soft spot for him. Viola's parents? Lord almighty her father despises Formaggio. He's a hitman! Look at how he dresses and the way he acts! He's no good, trouble!!! Her mother, however, is more lenient. She shares the sentiment of her husband about how the cheese man is a hitman and part of the mafia. But unlike her husband, she can see the whole picture – unlike her narrow sighted partner – and sees that her little girl is the happiest she's ever been. She's safe in his hands and he'll treat her right.

15. Was it love at first sight or did it take some time?

For Viola, it was love at first sight. Appearance wise, he's the complete opposite of her tastes. His personality is also not what she looks for. But for some reason...the first time she looked at him, she felt like she was being drawn in. Her mind told her it was futile, but before she knew it she was in front of him at the bar area. For Formaggio, it took some time. After spending some time texting and hanging out every so often, he found that she was much more interesting and fun company than woman he'd talk to at the bar. Pity for her grew into enjoyment of her company and eventually a fondness. She's the complete opposite of what he looks for in a woman, yet she somehow lured him in.

16. Describe your first date together.

Depends on what you call a date, haha. I'd say it's the first time they hung out together outside the bar. He took her out for lunch to keep her company since he had the free time. Most of his reasoning, however, was just sheet pity. He feels bad she's pretty restricted, so why not take her out for a bit of food? He's talked to her for about a week before this happens. So they're on friendly enough terms.

22. If your F/O described you as a kind of animal, what would they describe you as and why?

Hmmm...if you mean behaviorally, she's like a mix of a labrador and a cat. She's cheerful and upbeat, yet she has the mischief of a cat (and other traits like napping, nuzzling him like a cat bumps their owner's hand, likes her space). Appearance wise, she's like a kitten, hamster, or bunny.

24. Is there a favorite article of clothing of your F/O's that you like to wear / cuddle with? Is there a favorite article of clothing of yours that they like to wear/cuddle?

Like any girlfriend, she likes to “borrow” his studded jacket. While the jacket is short sleeved (she gets cold easily), it's his jacket and it makes her happy to wear it.

26. Are you the type of couple to play co-op or do you play games against each other? If you really aren't into videogames - consider this question in terms of other games that could be challenges whether it's board games or sports.

It depends on the game and their mood. If it's a game like Mario Party, they may team up if there's others playing with them. Super Smash Bros they're obvs against each other. Sometimes it's just one of them playing the game and the other watches while making commentary. Sometimes said commentary is suggestions/tips on what they think the other should do next (like in an rpg).

27. Does your ship have a 'ship name' or do you usually just write it as OC/SI x character?

I never really thought of a ship name, tbh. Currently it's just Viola x Formaggio. If I had to choose one...maybe Sunshineshipping? They both are pretty laid-back and cheerful so it suits them.

28. What trope(s) does your ship fall under?

Opposites attract, love at first sight, and first love

29. Are there any other characters your F/O and OC are close to? Can be canon or other OCs.

Formaggio has a decent relationship with Anguria. Initially they disliked each other but she and him grow on each other and they become good friends. Anguria likes to tease him by calling him American brand name cheese (Tillamook, Sargento, Babybel, etc). She learned these from Viola.

Viola has an okay relationship with Melone, as he's Anguria's bf. They don't really talk as she doesn't see him often but they get along well enough. She holds Anguria very highly because she helped pull Viola off the street, gave her a home, and guided her through the process of becoming independent.

For Tiziano/Viola/Squalo:

3. What does your f/o's friends / family think of your relationship?

In this universe, Viola's parents don't mind her dating them. They're a bit disapproving of the fact that she's dating /two/ men, but they trust Tiziano and Squalo (as they're valued customers who have proven their trustworthiness and reliability) to take good care of her. They're unaware the two of them are in the mafia. To them, they're just valued regulars at their sandwich shop.

5. How does your SI/ OC influence your F/O's canon story?

Well, David Productions took some liberties when they did the part 5 anime by adding stuff and cutting certain things (lines and scenes). An added scene showed Tiziano stroking Squalo's chest (heavily implying a romantic relationship) but this never existed in the manga. The two of them were simply just sitting next to each other. I totally ship these two anyway, but it's been officially confirmed by Araki that their relationship 'isn't like that'. I want to keep this romance, however, so I changed it a little.

Rather than be something official, I decided to go with a situationship. It's clear they have a deeper bond and they both know the other has a degree of feelings for the other. I think what keeps them from fully committing is awkwardness (the kind you get when a relationship doesn't work out. Tho I know that doesn't always happen) and they don't feel any need to slap a label on themselves. Whether they stay platonic or romantic doesn't matter. But if one wanted to commit to the other romantically, the other will follow. I feel something like this allows some leeway for a third party.

So instead of them hooking up at some point and becoming a thing, Viola becomes a catalyst. Sometimes it takes just one person, event, or thing to bring together individuals. It's through her love and the relationship she has with them that pushes them to finally commit to each other. Since they both love her as well, she's also part of the equation.

6. What does your F/O love most about you / your OC?

Squalo loves her passion. The way her face and eyes light up when she's passionate about something and how she can be a total goofball. Tiziano also loves her lil goofball antics and appreciates that like himself, she has a pretty level head that sticks to logic and reason.

14. What do your family / friends think about your F/O?

Her parents 100% approves of Tiziano and Squalo. They've proven themselves to be reliable and trustworthy. And they also appreciate their continued patronage at their small family-owned sandwich shop.

15. Describe your first date together.

If you can call it that LOL. It was Viola treating the boys to some coffee as an excuse to have an actual full blown conversation with them. She had decided to stop pussyfooting and finally take a step towards getting to know them.

16. Was it love at first sight or did it take some time?

For all parties it took some time. With Viola, it was like a person to a celebrity – she didn't really know them intimately but she formed a crush on the two of them regardless. At first it was Tiziano but then she grew feelings for Squalo as well. Both of the boys know about her crushes but don't talk about it since she hasn't made any effort to take that first step. It's only after taking that first step (Viola asking them if she could treat them and Tiziano giving her his number to keep in touch and arrange the little coffee “date”. He gave her the number because he knew it was harmless and that he could easily just change his number.) that things started moving.

Tiziano doesn't really play video or board games. So usually it's Viola and Squalo. They tend to go against each other unless it's Mario Party. Otherwise they're at each other's throats and bickering like children (Which Tiziano grows tired of after a while and breaks them up.)

Nope, no ship name. Tbh, the only thing I could possibly think of is Sandwichshipping LMAO. Get it? Because she works at a sandwich shop her family owns? She's sandwiched between two hot italian men? Okay I'll shut up.

Shujin Nurse's Office

Here's a surprise for you all!! While working on Maruki's models, I was disappointed to see that the Shujin Nurse's Office, where Maruki chills, isn't publicly available. You have releases of his palace (bless those people, istg) but not this room!! So I've ripped it and added the textures back in. It's not 100% perfect to the smallest detail but I tried my best. If any part looks glitched out, it only means that you're zoomed out too much. Zoom in and it'll look fine.

Each character has two (I believe) gacha pull voice lines? I think there's one that plays the first time, and one that plays on subsequent pulls of the character. Fleuret's also aren't labeled in the files as whatever they are (aside from being labeled with his name), so I'm kind of just guessing here, but is this the line you heard?

Y'know, kinda curious to know what crimes the palace rulers can be charged with here under Japanese law

But moreso in Akashi's case. Because Kiuchi and Miyazawa didn't seem like they did something to necessarily break the law

Well, I don't know much about Japanese law specifically, but at least in the US, I'm pretty sure it's against the law to physically assault people, though Kiuchi's attacks were usually minor enough that the police probably didn't have to take it seriously (especially given they seem to turn a blind eye to phantoms in general). Tomoko's family also probably could've pressed charges against him for hurting Tomoko and ruining her ability to play baseball?

In Miyazawa's case, defamation is a real crime (though it looks like the exact definition varies by country), and he used blackmail to extort money from people, which is at least crime-adjacent. I'm also reasonably certain that stealing Yamanashi's hanko stamp to essentially falsify his signature is a crime, though it'd sort of be Miyazawa's word vs. the words of Wonder, Shun, and Motoha, so it might have been a bit difficult to prove in court.

Akashi is probably the trickiest one, but defamation might apply here as well, given how he manipulated people? Certainly blackmail would apply, however much of a crime that is exactly. I think it's intentional that he's more difficult to pin actual crimes on, though, because he was a lot more deliberate and careful about what he was doing.

Though, again, this is my US-centric view of possible crimes, as I'm much more familiar with laws in the US than in Japan! It's possible some crimes are more obvious to someone familiar with Japanese law, or even that some of the crimes I suggested aren't considered crimes in Japanese law in the same way, I'm not sure.

i am a firm believer that ocs are a reflection of the self in the way that every character you create has to hold some piece of you to really feel alive. sometimes this is why all your ocs have certain traits, sometimes this is why you can track your various issues and traumas all the way from middleschool to now based on what your ocs are like. this is a feature not a bug
