@lyslsstuff you pretty much picked me up like a baby bird and told me I could fly in my early days of tumblr-ing, it's been so much fun working on the dbh au together and just getting to know you in general <3 not to mention I adore your art, the colours and rendering and overall effect is always SO cool

They have constantly made that same pit strategy and it keeps causing unnecessary problems for their drivers. It accumulated in the big mess up on Sunday but there are several times they have pitted Oscar first when Lando is ahead too and it only leads to team order messiness. I don’t understand what goes through their heads but the biggest fallback this season has been their questionable and indecisive in-race strategy calls. The team needs to get it together or they will never successfully challenge for the championship. After Hungary it seems clear they are more concerned with the constructors championship than the WDC but imo that’s kind of a slap in the face to Lando. I am very unimpressed with the team lately. I feel like they keep letting Oscar and Lando down. It making feel discouraged like I want to stop watching. Which is sad cause I just want to see them do well.

well fucking said. in silverstone as well they SO could've won that race if it wasn't for the shit pitstop strategy. personally I'm hopeful that the win in hungary wasn't a one-off and that they actually did learn something from previous mistakes. I hope the same will apply to this mistake (if it doesn't and they truly have no idea how to handle two drivers capable of winning then we're actually fucked but I prefer not to think about that)

the casually enjoy section is for pairings I wouldn't neccessarily read about but go "teehee" at when I see them on my dash or in the bg of a fic

"interference" are ships that involve someone from one my main ships (as much as being a multishipper would be way more convenient in this fandom my brain simply cannot bear to see my sillies separated)

which has the consequence that I have a separate line (cyan triangle) for carlandoscar and (purple line) for carlando

What program and brushes do u use?

I use procreate (and procreate dreams for when I feel unhinged enough to animate something)

as for brushes I've been using charcoal roll for pretty much everything, and soft pastel + oil pastel for blending! (plus oberon to add a bit more texture if I feel I need it)

(but I do want to add that I switch my brushes around periodically, some of my other favorites are: inka, streaks, and kunanyi)

the categories in procreate for all the aforementioned brushes: sketching: soft pastel, oil pastel inking: inka drawing: oberon calligraphy: kunanyi, streaks charcoals: charcoal roll

if you're not looking to spend money I recommend adobe fresco as a program BUT full disclaimer adobe's policy basically includes owning all of your art (and potentially using it to train AI) so... use it at your own discretion

and a bonus layer I use (on overlay, 30-60%) to add some texture sometimes c:

oh my god thank u.... I'm gonna let you in on a secret about the brightness thing: you are absolutely correct. one thing that has been pretty consistent throughout my pieces for the past few months is the presence of a saturation layer on top of the whole piece. dunno how much you know about digital art terms but what that basically means is I aim for absolute maximum neon in my colours (or what gives me the largest and most interesting range of colour at least)

funny thing I've noticed because of this is that tumblr actually automatically desaturates images! which means you're not even getting the full brightness (sometimes)

I noticed it on this piece which is frankly fair enough that green unironically gave me a headache while I was working on it

as you can see on the screenshot below: picture 1 (uploaded to a post and then saved as a draft) is noticably less neon than picture 2 (freshly uploaded into the post but not yet saved, which means tumblr hasn't yet had the chance to process it)

Omg your trademark is definitely the absolutely jaw-dropping colour work, not just the neons, but that soft, warm lighting you do sometimes is so beautiful, but also I'm so in love with that crayon-y brush you use for lineart, the texture is so 🤌

My favourite little thing you do though is how you hide your name in the writing on the race suits. I'm always looking for it like a game of 'where's neb'🥺

this ask has been sitting in my inbox for about 39 years now but I have actually had a think about it so here I go

basically I think AU-ing anything into the DSMP would be incredibly challenging because it doesn't have many concrete universe rules. like we know hybrids and whatnot exist, we have the base universe of minecraft (minus the End ig) and the most defined part of the lore is the revival system which is a bit difficult to do anything with tbh

the way to make this interesting (and viable) would be to assign DSMP factions to the drivers and try imagining WHEN and WHY they would have chosen to align with those ideas and people (again this pretty much requires coming up with a new plotline which I'm a little too hyperfixed on the dbh au for atm) (you can pretty much reimagine the whole "plot" of the DSMP with the factions and main plotpoints being kept actually hmmmmmm just the relations changing. potential there.)

like imagine Landoscar (non-americans) with early L'Manburg meanwhile Logan is stuck outside. pure angst potential

my cTubbo (and cSchlatt and cDream) enjoyer brain also very very much wants to draw them as goat/deer hybrids because uhh yes. or just give them horns like the fandom did with cTommy

okay real question what happens when a hybrid character with horns gets revived. white horn maybe....

another big ol' questionmark would be how the drivers' lives could be adapted into the story. one thing that comes to mind is how Oscar moved to England alone at like 14, which my brain immediately associates with cTubbo. or Lando growing up as a shy kid with very little friends, very reminiscent of clingyduo in L'Manburg with the whole getting lifelong trauma thing

basically my thesis is that Landoscar (and Loscar actually) are clingyduo. I am not open to critiscism at this time (I actually am do please discuss this with me there's only a low chance I'll bite you)

I would point out that there is SO much angst potential with the whole L'Manbirg to Pogtopia and Manburg to everything that went on in the prison thing and I haven't even brought up cWilbur yet (the character and the person make me ill in such different ways urgh)

a thing (definitely one of my favorite things at that) about the DSMP is how EVERYONE is a main character depending on who you choose to follow, which is incredibly similar to how F1 works tbh so shockingly enough that's actually easy to adapt

another aspect I had a think about was dsmp character to driver associations which I honestly really want to do a questionnaire on and like make a research post about (someone actually did something similar to this about fandom to F1 pipelines go look at it it's very interesting)

my hypothesis is that associating single characters to drivers would be relatively simple (just a question of what role they play in their respective communities really, plus what vibes they give off lmao) BUT making those connections with groups/duos/trios/etc like actually reimagining the system would yield different results to singular associations. which is just a result of different environments having different ecosystems ig but it would be interesting to see nonetheless. in my brain some DSMP characters' roles would be filled by several drivers and some drivers would take on several roles at the same time which is absolutely fascinating to me

I think. that's all the thoughts I had about that (miight make a post about my driver-character associations at some point but I wanna sit down and have a proper think about that first) (all I'm saying is that Alex Albon is cRanboo)

I feel like people are getting hung up on whose victory it was (it was Oscar’s 😭) that there forgetting that the cause of the whole thing was due to McLaren’s terrible strategy (if you even want to call it that). They always pit Lando first despite the circumstances and it’s come back to bite them in the last 2 races.

ur so right about McLaren being lucky they have drivers that like each other because that could have gone south real quick.

re: art style characteristics, i feel like you always have very vibrant colors and the way you do highlights/shading (like more sharp lines and less blending i think?? idk much abt art so i don’t know if those are the right words) is very distinctive :]

very very real on the colours now that you say (I really love working with colours so ty.....) with shading I do actually do a mix of both but even when I blend it's never like, smooth smooth yk (altough my last piece does have exclusively sharp shading so good observation). also generally speaking funky shading/lighting is my bread and butter so [VERY LOUD CORRECT BUZZER] and ty for indulging me I appreciate it anon!! <3

simple answer is depends

rn school is killing me a bit so.. less than I'd prefer to? I usually go through periods of almost complete inactivity art-wise (2 week to a month) followed by a week-or-so of spending every free second I have on art. I had one of those active phases basically all through summer (lots of time + inspiration + motivation through the dopamine rush of posting lmao) where I made 27-ish pieces over the course of 3 months which adds up to a piece every 3/4 days (they usually take me 1-3 days from start to finish) so the next simplest answer is... very.
