Day: 16 - SAY GOODBYE TO FILTERS

Characters: Wei Ying and Lan Zhan

They were at a college party, of course, of fucking course, someone spiked the drinks. It just so happened that for some mind boggling reason /Lan Wangji/ was at this party! And not being very familiar with the

“Come on Lan Zhan- lemme go and get in the car!”

“Mmph.”

“Come on- LAN ZHAN! Did you just bite me?!” Wei Wuxian yelped, pouting and glaring at Lan Wangji.

Though the man in question merely stared blankly at him, his golden eyes glossed over and far away, his ears red. His usual stoic and cold expression caved into a small tired smile and far away eyes, frankly in Wei Wuxian’s opinion he looks adorable (not that he’s biased of course).

“You’re not a dog Lan Zhan!- Hey! Don’t bite me again!” Though he could do without the sudden biting or squirming…

Once he finally got his best friend into the back seat of the car, he buckled him up and went into the driver's seat. Once buckled in himself he begins driving himself and his friend back to their shared apartment.

The place belonged to his friend’s brothers before Lan Zhan started university. Then it got transferred over to Lan Zhan and it happened to have an extra room and Wei Ying happened to need a place to rent. And it all just worked out, yeah they both didn’t get along great at first but Lan Zhan just needed a bit of patience and a lot of prodding to let loose! When he did he was the best and funniest guy around, well second only to Wei Ying himself of course.

While he was driving Lan Zhan kept calling out his name in his cute little tired voice, and Wie Ying being a good friend responded each time with a ‘Yes, Lan er gege?’

After a few rounds of this back and forth, Lan Zhan dropped a bomb.

“Wei Ying… Wei Ying’s beautiful…” the drunk man let slip happily.

That wasn’t something Wei Ying expected to hear from the other and so he neay slammed the breaks so hard it nearly set them both flying. He laughed off the compliment with a, “Aiya! Lan Zhan is trying to butter this one up? How shameless!”

Then in the rearview mirror he sees the most adorable pout graze Lan Zhan’s face and his ears somehow turn even redder.

“Not- not flattering… Wei Ying’s beautiful, its fact!” Was stirred out resolutely, Wei Ying unsure of how to react, just silently continued to drive while beginning to blush.

After a few more peaceful moments of silence, just when they were about to turn into their apartment complex. Lan Zhan decides to drop another bomb, “…Love Wei Ying…”

Now that he’s heard that he does actually slam in the breaks and he hears an oof come from Lan Zhan as the man hits the chair in front of him from the impact. Wei Ying remains carefully frozen, just in case he misheard but no.

Lan Zhan repeats himself, “Love Wei Ying, fancy Wei Ying, wanna explore life with Wei Ying, I-“

Wei Ying, shocked, twists back to look at Lan Zhan only to find the most earnest expression he’s ever seen on the other’s face, but… his friend is still drunk, there's no way he meant it like that!… Right?

“Aiya, Lan Zhan… You would never say that in your right mind,” he scolds playfully, yet he can't seem to help the small bit of disappointment and pain he feels at that scentiment.

Just when it seemed Lan Zhan was about to argue, the effects of the alcohol kick in and knock him out cold.
