the light will never fully turn off

dim to the nth degree

so i lay in darkness

almost complete

but not total void

not total void

not enough to consume me

not enough to be absorbed

i can see my silhouette hands

twitch slightly

i am labored with my physical presence

can't really escape

night 

won't let me forget

the light 

won't let me forget

so i lay

and stare

at the almost black ceiling

as i ask

an unanswerable question

and the only response

i get

is a flicker

and for that moment

where the light's fully out

i disappear

but i don't notice

because disappearance is absence

absence is nothing

still i crave it

not knowing

never knowing

because once i am consumed

once i get what i want

i won't even feel it happening

i won't feel ever again

full 

complete
