i cant really remember what drew me to kyoko initially. i thought she was cute. and i liked her voice (erika harlacher! same va as ann p5!) (talk 2 me abt VAs plsease) plus maybe tmi but i love like low energy characters a whole lot. esp if it's like... pretty obvious that they have depression or autism LOL

and for celeste... gosh i dont even. i remember being neutral on her after first playing the game, dont really know what made me DRASTICALLY change my mind . i guess i thought more about her character and OH I THOUGHT HER ENG VA'S PERFORMANCE WAS JUST SPECTACULAR..... HANDS DOWN THE BEST PERFORMANCE IN ALL OF DR TBHH........ anyway, i thoguht more about her character and hte more i thought about it the mor e i like... felt bad? djkfndf felt connected to her? it hought her whole like... lying thing to b interesting... esp how she was able to deceive her own emotions... there's NO waythat girl didn't have mental issues

I JUST..... I REALLY LOVE SONIA..... fun fact i got attached to her even before getting into dr LOL i cant remember how exactly i first laid my eyes on her but WHEN I FIRST LAID MY EYES ON HER.... AFTER playing the game though. my faves are def sonia (obv) peko mahiru chiaki gundham and nekomaru. i also rly rly like hajime akane and nagito LMAO i originally HAAAAATED nagito but i listened to ignorance by paramore a bunch of times and it finally clicked. hes my fucked up little guy and i am just alesbian

i know im typically All Girls but GOSH... GUNDHAM AND NEKOMARU..... LOVE THEM BOTH SO MUCH....... going through nekomaru's ftes (i wanted his special ability thing LOL) and i just.... i love this man...... the most mentally stable dr character fr......

IZURU KAMUKURA

favorite thing about them :

No matter my feelings about him as a character, I’m really interested in what Kamukura represents in Hope’s Peak Tragedy. The Kamukura Project - way more than Junko - is the reason for Hope’s Peak fall, and this is because it represents the way Hope’s Peak tried to cheat against the ‘natural’ order, to go against the gods, and to create Hope artificially.

I’m afraid to make mistakes, so I’m not going to try and pretend I know a lot about Japanese society, but I know it’s heavily influenced by the Shinto religion, which puts a lot of importance in work, and efforts, and says that work is the way to elevate yourself. Kamukura is a big ‘fuck you’ to this idea, since he doesn’t do anything to deserve to be ‘better’ than the rest of humanity.

He is also hot as fuck, but what else is news.

least favorite thing about them :

He is so boring, damn. No drive, no goal, no internal conflict - I mean one is shoe-horned with Chiaki’s death, but it’s not done well. He is just there, and he could just not be, because I don’t think there is a ‘emptier’ character than him. I do think dr3 made him even ‘duller’, since he couldn’t do anything wrong at all in order to end up with a ‘happy ending’, so he just… didn’t do anything at all. With, once again, the exception of the whole bullshit around Chiaki’s AI, that no one really understood in the fandom, from what I can tell.

Junko, if only because she is fun enough for both of them. Hajime for an AU where he has an internal life, or something. Honestly Hajime/Izuru is such important relationship - arguably the most important for the two of them - and it’s not used at all.

OTP :

I really don’t have one. I mean, I follow Kimmy’s newfound love for Kamu/nami and I’m like ‘maybe… In a complete AU… maybe’, but the truth is that I need to be a little invested in a character to ship them.

nOTP :

Kamu/koma, though their aesthetic is on point. Can’t help but reblog fanarts anyway 8)

I know this goes against dr3 - who gives a shit, really -, but his hair only get longer through the years he spend as Kamukura. He just doesn’t care enough to cut them, as long as he isn’t walking on them or something.

I know this opinion is mostly a joke through the fandom, but I don’t think he has ‘all’ the talents. He was clearly designated as a weapon, he wouldn’t have any ‘artistic’ talent since he doesn’t have any emotion, and pretty much any talent where he has to be in contact with others, and creating bonds is lacking.

I just really love his personnality ! He is so chill and cool, and one of the rare characters in the serie that seems to have his shits together ? I don’t know, I thought his FTE - when I was playing as Kaede - were super relaxing and pleasant, and probably some of my favorite in the game, since it wasn’t trying ‘too hard’.

least favorite thing about them :

Talking of ‘trying too hard’, gosh is his backstory when we do his FTE with Shuichi dumb as hell. I’m not even sure these are canon, since you technically can’t see them in the main game but… meh.

favorite line :

I just love when we talk to him about Miu and he is like ‘Oh, she just likes to be on top’, and Kaede is confused, and Rantaro is all ‘ooh, it was just a joke, nevermind.’ As a whole, talking about the other students was super cool, even though it’s a dead give-away that his character was going to DIE.

brOTP :

Kokichi and Kaede are the big ones, but really… I feel like Rantaro would get along with pretty much anyone ? He has the kind of personnality that you have to like, you get what I mean ?

OTP :

Really warmed up to the idea of Kaede/Rantaro. In a High-School AU, or something, they would be glorious.

nOTP :

It’s not really a nOTP, but I’m indifferent to Shuichi/Rantaro as a ship. Rantaro/Tsumugi is also weird for me, even if I understand that this is more about the potential of them knowing each other before ndrv3.

Just like Rantaro, this is a character I love more because of her personnality than her writing in the story. I love how determined she is, always trying to do the right things, to say the right things. I like her little quircks, even if most of the bullshit about the Novoselic Kingdom seem to be one-time jokes. There is a real strenght in her that we don’t see a lot in other characters, and that clearly come from her background as a princess.

least favorite thing about them :

Wouldn’t it have been nice if she had had any impact on the plot, or even a role in the story, instead of wasting her arc on a stupid love triangle that went nowhere ? This is so infuriating.

She is very easy-going, so most of the characters are fine for me ? Mahiru, Hajime, Gundham are the first ones I’m thinking of, but really she is so friendly, she can be friend with anyone.

Kirigiri all the way. Son/dam is fine, it’s just so shallow in the game, how am I supposed to be invested in it ? They exchange three sentences and we are asked to think of it as true love and no, jeez.

nOTP :

It’s not a nOTP, but Souda needs to accept a ‘no’ for what it is, and stop being an asshole. If one day he stops treating her as a talking, walking doll, we’ll talk. The fact that a part of the fandom ( probably japanese fandom since I never saw it in the western one ) appareny called her a bitch for not returning Souda’s feelings ( thus this weird scene in dr3 ? ) is definitely annoying.

I feel like a see Sonia as a lot stronger and balanced than the rest of the fandom ? Everyone seems to focus on her quirks, as if they weren’t the superficial part of her character. This girl is made of iron, and you better remember it, guys.

for the fic ask, 1 6 7 18 19

1. Well… that depends on the definition of what a WIP is… if we are counting something that has more than a few sentences it is… 9!! That’s only if you count Renegade EXTRA 1 and Renegade EXTRA 2 as 2 separate things though lol… They are basically 2 one-shots that focus on continuing different sideplots of Renegade. Gosh, they have been WIPs for more than 2 years, OTL.

6. The last thing I read that made me laugh is probably screenshots from Yakuza 0. And then before that was Initial D. I know they are more strictly described as watched OTL. I haven’t read a lot of humour fics lately which is kind of sad!! I don’t know if it’s my taste or the general fandom atmosphere, but I feel like crackfics and ridiculous fics are a lot less common nowadays. I should search some up c: Actually now that I think about it the last crackfic I read was ndrv3, but sadly contains spoilers.

7. It was probably an ndrv3 fic, the one I never shut up about, which I will recommend to you once you finish the game!!!!!!!!! I didn’t exactly cry while reading it, but I don’t cry a lot to written words… this definitely twinged my Emotions though.

18. My fic reading routine is… for fics I subscribe to, I read them as soon as I can after I get the email notifying me there’s an update, and if I don’t read it I leave it unread. (Thank you Gmail for having the separate inboxes’ Unreads not count to the main one because… I have a lot of unread emails now, lol ;; ) Otherwise, I might browse the tag of whatever I’m into at the moment either before sleeping or right after waking up on a weekend. Mostly I check the Persona 5 and NDRV3 tags, but increasingly sporadically :’) I make a point to keep updated with the Inazuma Eleven tag though. Incidentally I only read on AO3 nowadays.

My fic writing routine… god I wish I had a fic writing routine. At this moment it’s literally open document, write a few sentences, get distracted, tell myself I can’t get distracted, stay distracted anyway, repeat. NaNoWriMo was really good for building up a routine but I think there’s a balance to be had there lol. Oh, I obsess over finding the right soundtrack though (which may not necessary fit the mood of the fic; sometimes I just need familiar noise to keep me grounded).

19. My absolutely number 1 favourite character headcanon (I am assuming this question is asking for one I hold) is that Fudou’s dad is still with the family and actually that makes it worse because the negative energy in the family can never truly dissipate. I mean it can with constructive communication but that isn’t exactly happening in that family.

Otherwise my pick of favourite friends’ headcanons is 1) Sakuma has an older brother who is a cat named Ichirou (because ‘Jirou’ means second son) 2) Kazemaru has… very experimental college/J-League years, like early to late twenties basically 3) Inazuma Japan hosts regular nomikai reunions (basically reserving a private room at a bar and eating and drinking till late, catching up) and we do not speak of what dirt is dug up during those gatherings.
