Ooh okay I LOVE Waverly and Thornton Hall! Silent Spy’s good too, but I think my other favs are Shadow at the Water’s Edge, White Wolf, Sea of Darkness, and Deadly Device.
I would die for Joe Hardy that is a fact
I DEFINITELY want tk talk. My sisters have long since stopped loving ND but inside I am still 9 years old devouring the books and being shocked when my dad brought home the first game. What did uou think of the latest game?
Hecc yeah baby! Big oof that your sisters aren’t into it anymore; both my brother and sister still play them and we talk about them all the time. We even had a Nancy Drew party with some of my friends a couple weeks ago where we just played through Shadow Ranch.
As for Midnight in Salem...it...was. I mean I didn’t hate it by any means, and it’s certainly better than Shattered Medallion or Ransom of the Seven Ships, but it just didn’t have that same charm. There were some good puzzles though! And playing as Frank and Joe is always a party. How about you?
#conversation#not whump#nemicy drew#tear down the velvet ropes surrounding your wordmagination!#nd games just like heal my soul okay#i finished old clock last night...not sure which one im gonna play next#maybe ill finally get back to that captive curse playthrough lol#i have too many favorite games and thats okay

Travis. You're such an amazing partner. Seriously
... one in a million. I could only imagine how greater you would be to me, if I was a biological woman. God, the way you touch me... especially when you imagine I have a pussy, is like God allowing me to experience a glimpse of heaven.
I love just watching you... play your video games, watch TV, boost, shoot up, get dressed, shower, bump to your music, work out, vent out your anger, doze off... everything. You're so masculine, and you can be pretty mature, tho you're still in tune with your inner kid, so your imagination is off da chain! You do everything like a man. It turns me on. It often intimidates me how gorgeous you are... inside and out. Your beautiful soul shines so bright, that I believe it comes out of your pores.
I love how you take care of us, constantly making me feel better, making sure we are safe and okay... you put in so much work to make us comfortable and okay.. and you do it with confidence, grace.
You're so beautiful, I love watching you take off your shirt. I love watching your torso, and it's many muscles flex while doing every day activities: hoping fences, making shots, carrying tide, washing yourself, dancing, etc. I love smelling your smooth skin, the warmth from your body heat... I'm happiest when I feel up your buldging arms, and feeling your heartbeat in your chest. I feel so grateful that you want my head resting on you when we cuddle, when we sleep. Ugh. I want you inside me so bad right now... I wish I wasn't sick.
You got to experience me at my absolute worse. And im.sorry about that. I was pretty fucked up, and... I wish I could take it all back. I was scared, I was previously fucked with, pretty bad, and I healed because of you. I always loved you, and I'm still madly in love with you, and for awhile I've been wanting to take the next step with us, which we always said we wanted, tho I fear now, that I'm nothing to you? Why? Cause you've become so mean.
So mean. So cruel. It turns out that you actually try to cheat on me... a lot. You make accusations filled with mistrust, and you do cruel acts to... idk. See if I'll put up with it? To push me away? To justify you doing so.ething fucked up? To deal with your guilt? Idk. But it's getting crazier and crazier.
I no longer feel loved... a lot of the time. I feel cared for. But, the looks you give me, how you handle things, the shit you say. You can start being with me, and not get hard, and stop, and somehow blame on me, and get mean towards me, and that's why I'm leaning towards you getting like that, to deal with your guilt.
You do make me look foolish, a lot lately. You do show interest in other people. A lot lately. You do use your intelligence to talk circles around me, to make me sound stupid. I hear the comments you whisper under your breath. You know when you're being mean or fucked up to me, bit never say sorry. Just cause you say you don't know what you're doing wrong, or why I'm hurt, or whatever, doesn't mean it's true. I see through it, and you don't care how it all affects me. You smile.
So I'm scared now that you have no intention of actually being with me. I use the phrase "us" and you need to make sure I'm talking about you and I. Which was weird at first, but now I think it's cause, you don't see an us anymore. You shove in my face fuckef up images, sounds and recordings of female moans and your moans. You make me feel crazy, you make it impossible for me to do anything. Like. And I just want to be left alone, or to be loved and to love you.
I don't know what to do. I let go a little and you pull me back in, tho soon after, you go back to being mentally emotionally abusive and I never get an apology. I still don't know what really happened the night with wiz and Amanda and you. And that scares me. I'm so scared. I'm really hurt. And I feel helpless. I get some hope and you destroy it, but before things get too grim. Some hope comes back.
I just want the truth. I want to now for certain if you are getting with others... so then I can finally close the book of you ND I. Or I want to find out you really do love me.. and do more to find out more.

Ezekiel 3:16-6:14, Hebrews 4:1-16, Psalms 104:24-35, Proverbs 26:27
Today is the 2nd day of November welcome to the Daily Audio Bible I'm Brian it's wonderful to be here with you today as it is every day. It's my oasis just like it might be your oasis coming in around the Global Campfire and letting all the other stuff go. And when is there never not other stuff to focus or obsess on or be brought down by. But just to come in here and know that I'm not alone in here, that we are in here together and then God's word is gonna speak and wash into our hearts and lives. That…yeah…that's my oasis too. And, so I’m so grateful that we can be in this together as we take the next step forward. So, let's do that. We’re reading from the Evangelical Heritage Version this week. We began the book of Ezekiel, another book of major prophecy. And again, the major prophets aren’t major because they're more important. The major prophets are…well…they’re called the major prophets because of the volume of material in these books. And then when finish the major prophets we’ll move into the minor prophets, which it doesn't mean they’re like the minor leagues of prophets just hoping one day the be called up to the big game. It's just…they’re shorter, more direct, or focused. And, so, we will get there when we get there, but we are here at the beginning of a new month and the beginning of the week or at least the beginning of the workweek. And, so, let's dive in. Ezekiel chapter 3 verse 16 through 6 verse 14.
Commentary:
Okay. So, in the book of Hebrews today we encountered a very, very, very famous passage of Scripture. “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword. It penetrates even to the point of dividing soul and spirit, joint and marrow, being able to judge the ideas and thoughts of the heart.” This is a scripture so famous that we may have committed to memory, but have you…have you ever thought about what kind of instrument we are talking about when we are talking about how deep the Scriptures can penetrate? I mean, so like many of you have medical backgrounds, many of you have psychology backgrounds. Like what scalpel, what tool, what can go that deep? And even if we said we could go that deep, maybe not with a scalpel because how would we even find where soul and spirit divide? But if we could approach that in some way, in some kind of psychological capacity, like how long would it take to get there, to the essence, to the core of the true self? This is the claim that the author of Hebrews is making about the word of God. And we just talked about like, where do soul and spirit meet? Where would that be? How do you even find that place? Well…if the soul, as many believe is the seed of consciousness, like the awareness that you are you. And if it encompasses our emotional nature and our moral convictions. And if the spirit is…is what makes us alive, if it is the source of life, it is God within animating life itself then we’re talking about...I think we’re talking about as deep as you can talk about. Like this is at the level of consciousness. This is at the level of our instincts. This is at the level of…of love and feeling and emotion and conviction. This is where we make choices. This is where we decide what our bodies are going to do and then our bodies go and do those things that we've decided that they're going to do, whether they’re good things or bad things. According to Hebrews this is how deep the word of God can penetrate. So, it just…it cuts through all the crap that we invent to cope and it cuts through all of the façade of personality that we create to have some sort of place in this world and to cope and move around. And it goes below, beneath, under all of the wounding of our lives, all of the things that have pulled us into isolation. It gets under or behind all of that to a place that's true and speaks there. It speaks truth there. That's why we’re showing up here every day. I mean that's why we come around this Global Campfire because the word of God speaks deep things into our deepest truest self and over time, that changes things. We might call this transformation. We might call this sanctification, if we want to be all theological. But what's happening is that we’re being changed. Our identity is coming into alignment with the nature of our Father as we have been adopted into His family as His sons and daughters. And according to Hebrews, the Scriptures guide that process. What a joy.
Prayer:
Father what a…what a relief. Thank You for this gift. Thank You for giving this to us. Thank You for every day bringing Your word into our lives in a way that we need coming at us from every angle. And we’ve spent a year in Your word, and You have come at us from every angle, encouraging and rebuking us in ways that we simply can't hide because You’re touching every aspect of our lives. And, so, we are grateful for that and we are deeply committed to finishing this year well as we move forward into all that You have yet to speak to us. We’re hearing loud and clear. It's been a disruptive year and it's been very, very difficult on many levels but such a reset on so many fundamental levels in so many primary ways. You have done the hard work of inviting us into starting over in a lot of ways, and we are thankful for that and we look forward to all that You have yet to speak, not only in the days and weeks ahead of this year, but for the rest of our lives. So, we are thankful for Your word and we are thankful that it is something that can get to the core beyond our own deception of even ourselves, it can get the core. And, so, we commit ourselves to continuing the relationship that we have with the Scriptures, allowing it to speak to us each day. Come Holy Spirit we pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Community Prayer and Praise:
Hello DAB family this is Michael from Fort Worth Texas. I just wanted to call in today basically to encourage and be thankful. And I’m thankful for Brian Hardin and this whole DAB family community all the people behind the scenes that work hard to put this on and I am thankful for all those people and China for her…her effort on the Chronological side and all the people that do the different languages and all that stuff going on. This whole app is an awesome thing and I’m just thankful for that. And I would encourage anybody who doesn’t contribute to challenge themselves to give monthly to the DAB to keep the servers spinning, to keep the updates coming and keep this great ministry viable from now on, from today to the future for…for everybody and for anybody new that would come on board. Also just wanted to say thank you for all the faithful prayer warriors who call in diligently daily and all the new ones we got now are very awesome and appreciate all you guys your encouragement your words of wisdom that you share with us your songs love all that stuff and just thankful for all you guys. Stay safe. Love you all. Again, Michael from Texas. Stay safe. Love you.
Hello Daily Audio Bible family. First of all, I want to say thank you very much. This is Jane Roos from Nebraska. I…I want to say that when Brian says, “don’t shoulder your problems alone”, believe him. This is a praise report. From the moment that you speak out your prayer request to the moment that you realize that God is holding you and this fellowship is praying for you, it is phenomenal what God is doing because I have experienced an amazing, amazing transformation in so many ways. And, so, let me just say thank you. I can’t even go into everything that has happened in detail and I won’t. First of all, let me say you are all loved. How does my daddy love me? With all his heart no matter what I do forever and always. I borrowed that from a pastor. I have been experiencing ADHD in a big way. My conscious mind always processes…only processes 40 bits per second but my subconscious processes 40 million bits per second. It’s scary. My mouth won’t say what my head wants…my head needs to say. I just want you all to know that you are loved.
Hi family I’m calling in today to pray for Brian from Austria, his first time calling today on October 29th he called in for prayers and support. Brian I’m so thankful that you called in and you shared your heart with us about your wife being unfaithful. And you are so right. You can’t do this alone. Many of us have been where you are in some form of betrayal in our marriage one way or another and I just want to encourage you. I want you to know I’m going to be praying for you and your wife for a long time. As many of us have experienced healing in our marriages, we know that it’s possible for you. So, Father, Holy Spirit we just lift up Brian and his wife to You. We thank You that we all come to the foot of the cross, needing forgiveness restoration healing, places in our lives that have been broken. And sometimes that causes us to not be faithful in areas of our lives or our marriage. So, Father I thank You for complete healing for Brian and his wife. I thank You for restoration, healing, intimacy. I thank You that You would encourage Brian to pursue his wife as they were first dating and coming together that You would pour out Your love and Your love is there. I know…I know it’s already there…
Hello DABbers. Just reaching out to say hello and follow up with another thanks. I’m just thankful for all of you, thankful that Kingdom Seeker Daniel has a great idea for the month of November and that’s for everyone just to call in thanks. I mean I could go on and on and it’s just crazy but, you know, we have so much to be thankful for every day no matter what’s going on, like just whose we are, God, all that He’s done. We could just go on and on about all He’s done. And then, all that He’s doing and then all that He will do. It’s just…to focus our mind on those things and just praise Him, I want to do that. I love living that way, but I want to do that with all of you. So, it’s just an encouragement and to let you know that I’m thankful for you every day. I don’t call in to say it but I am. So, thank You Jesus. Thank You, Lord for all that You are and all that You give. You just give so much. We are so blessed and may we just focus on that every day, but especially next month maybe inspire us Holy Spirit to just do that together. That would be really cool. Love You all. Bye.

Anon asked: Korekiyo rejected apology
I can and did do so much with this mwahahahahaha
Fandom: Danganronpa
Characters: Korekiyo Shinguji, Angie Yonaga, Tenko Chabashira, Himiko Yumeno
Kiyo’s entire body ached with the aftermath of the killing game. He could never get rid of the burning of the water and salt. His skin felt engulfed in flames at all times.
He was one of the lucky ones in that sense.
He didn’t see many of his “classmates” the first few days after he woke up. He wasn’t sure he wanted to face them yet, not after what he did. It was strange, thinking back on his actions. He felt as though he wasn’t in control of himself, like something was forcing his hand. But he knew that wasn’t true. The only one responsible for his actions was himself.
Which is what led him to the door of Angie’s room, where she, Tenko, and Himiko spent the majority of their time. That was mainly due to Angie becoming dizzy when standing- an aftereffect of his actions. They were almost never apart once they woke up, at least not that he’s seen.
Maki, the one time they spoke, warned him against talking to them. Even though it was virtual reality, she said, they all held hard grudges to him specifically, because of what his backstory had been. A backstory he wasn’t sure was true. They likely wouldn’t want to talk to him at all, but he wanted to at least try.
He took a deep breath and steeled himself before knocking. He knew they could see it was him through the narrow window, and he saw Tenko write something down and show it to Himiko. Her vocal chords must’ve been damaged by his attack, though Angie’s were not. It took a moment, but Himiko opened the door for him. Her eyes were no longer tired like he remembered them to be. Quite the contrary, they were stormy and steeled, a barricade against him.
“Hello, Kiyo,” Angie said with a slight wave. She and Tenko were both seated on her hospital bed, a bare space where Himiko was nd a whiteboard clutched in Tenko’s hands. Angie’s voice was duler, less friendly than he remembered. He knew he wasn’t imagining it.
He gave them a nod as Himiko took her seat back. “I...trust your recovery is going well.”
Tenko’s eyes hardened and shifted down to her whiteboard before holding up what she wrote. What do you want?
As he was warned, of course, they did not want his company for long. “If you’ll be willing to give me a moment of your time. I’d like to issue a formal apology for what I’ve done. I’ve been attempting to find the right manner in which to say this, but the only way I can think of is with honesty. I truly regret my actions, and while I do not yet know which of my memories were correct, I wish to rectify any past situation as best as I can.” He bowed deeply, long, his hair falling like a curtain. “From the depths of my soul-” he and Himiko both flinched at his word choice- “er, being, I am deeply sorry.”
He rose after a minute, watching the silent conversation the three girls were having. Their eyes never strayed to him until Angie sighed and leaned back against the frame of her bed. “I appreciate the apology, I really do. But I do not think I can accept it just yet. It was by your hand that the killing game continued on longer than needed. That is not something I can easily forgive, not when it hurt more of my friends.”
Tenko held up her whiteboard, through writing her response in her cramped writing. I’m with Angie. I had to see her dead, died myself after falling into your trap. I felt that pain before dying. Stealing the life of someone who was trying to help a friend- who went in place of that friend- is nowhere near okay. So I can’t accept your apology.
Understandable, of course. This was what Maki warned him of, though it stung more than he’d anticipated. It shouldn’t; he was accountable for his own actions. They had the right to hold him as such.
Himiko didn’t speak for another moment, but when she did, her voice was stronger and less breathy than it had been before. “I had to see my best friends die, Korekiyo. I had to deal with being accused of murdering them myself, and neither of them was at my side to help me. Not then, not for the rest of the game. I was alone. Nobody talked to me like Tenko and Angie. And knowing your history, even though I know it may not be true, I just can’t forgive you.” She crossed her arms and looked down. He noticed that she wasn’t wearing her witch’s hat. “Not now.”
A pregnant pause filled the air. “I understand. I’ll leave the three of you alone now.” He turned and left, making a beeline back to his room. His skin prickled and screamed with invisible heat with each quick move. A couple others were outside of their rooms, and he knew that he turned some heads.
His room was his refuge. He’d tried his best, but of course some wounds, especially ones so deep, took time to heal. At the very least, he appreciated that they listened. Perhaps, given time, he could try again.

I have way too many DBD characters. Killers, Survivors, Names, Perks, Home maps, and Transportation Items.
The Reaper/ Guardian of Rail Park/ Guardian of Crystal Waters Wildlife Preserve Perks: Birds of a Feather (Allows the player to more easily find where survivors are if wildlife is alerted. “The crows still speak to me.”), Trickster (Allows the player to hide while against a tree without a red light giving away where they are looking. “What? You thought I was just a set piece?”), White Stag (Allows the player to disguise themselves as one of the survivors in the match. Long cooldown time, terror radius remains intact. “I am neither doe nor stag. But some think I am.”). Outfit names: A Nice Night (Standard) (“What are you doing on these tracks?”); Here comes the Train (“Move you total mortal self-destructive fool!”); Failed Hunt (“Hunter? You are no the hunter, I am.”). Power: Fairy Lights (Turn into a small light and flicker about the map, flitting from tree to tree. Allows the player to quickly travel from one spot to another. Be careful, doing this costs a lot of energy.) Home map: The Haunted Birchwoods. Item to be sent there: Book of Fairytales (“A thick book containing the original telling of all the classic fairytales. Red stains can be seen on the back and front covers.”)
The Fallen/ Douglas Northesta Perks: One of You (Allows the player to set the progress farther back on sabotaged generators. “I was one of you once… I know how these things work.”), Thorough Search (Instead of kicking chests to scare a survivor out, the player will open the lid and look inside. “He found me though…cowering in a chest…Just like you are now.”), Fight or Flight (Grants the player the ability to quickly vault through windows and over fallen pallets instead of destroying them, only active during a chase. “You cannot outrun one of your own.”). Outfit names: Summer Picnic (Standard) (“It’s not very warm here.”); Memory Lane (“He gave me these. I like them.”); Little Trapper (“Now I look just like him!”). Power: Relaxing Bath Mixture (Years of being stressed and bored has lead The Fallen to develop this strange mixture of glittering sea foam; contains two-parts various bath salts, two-parts glittering bath soak, and five-parts body wash. Once thrown, the glass mason jar containing the mixture will burst, showering any survivors around it and causing the following effects: Impaired vision, reduced movement speed, reduced repair time.) Home Map: Howling Winds High. Item to be sent there: Old School Photo Album (“An old school photo album where almost every face on every page has been blacked out with sharpie marker. “Howling Winds High 45-46” can still be seen in bold and colorful letters on the front.”)
The Judge Perks: Ring around the Rosie (Enables one’s aura reading abilities; any kind of cue to a survivors location will now be accompanied by a directional key telling you which way the survivor ran. Ring around the rosie~, a pocket full of posies~, ashes, ashes, we all fall down~.”), A candle to light you to bed (Allows dull hex totems to be disguised as active hex totems. ““Oranges and lemons,” Say the bells of St. Clement's. “You owe me five farthings,” Say the bells of St. Martin's. “When will you pay me?” Say the bells at Old Bailey. “When I grow rich,” Say the bells at Shoreditch. “When will that be?” Say the bells of Stepney. “I do not know,” Says the great bell at Bow. Here comes a candle to light you to bed, and here comes a chopper to chop off your head! Chip chop chip chop the last man is dead!”), Catch a Tiger by the toe! (You become obsessed with one survivor; letting the survivor leave the trial grants bonus bloodpoints. Sacrificing or killing them will result in the regular amount of bloodpoints to be given. “Eeny, meeny, miny, moe, Catch a tiger by the toe. If he hollers, let him go, Eeny, meeny, miny, moe.”). Power: Frenzied guillotine (She spins around, her weapon thrown out in front of her. Upon spinning around three times, she will spin three times in the opposite direction before slamming the head of her weapon down on the ground to steady herself. Applies the dying state to any survivor hit during the attack, but will cause a stun effect on the player.) Home Map: Smoke Mirror Kingdom. Item to be sent there: Night themed Keychain (“A Keychain made of a crescent moon charm and small glass bottle filled with black glitter and some rainbow star shaped glitter. The cork and screw connecting the bottle to the rest of the keychain both appear to have been crazy glued together.”)
The Collection (Lillie, Dan, Lindsey, Ayden, Dakota, Dexter) Perks: Forgotten Memory (Disrupts Aura reading abilities. “This place is…Familiar…”), Friend or Foe (You gain an obsession for one survivor, for each aggressive action taken towards the obsession you gain a token. For each token vaulting and destruction speed is increased at the cost of one token. A maximum of five tokens is allowed. “I’m not letting you get away this time!”) , Self-Control (Applies a bleed-out timer to the hit survivor. Will not slow down a survivor, but a blood trail left by the hit survivor will last longer and become more noticeable. “We only hurt when needed. We’re not monsters, after all.”). Power: Paranormal Panic (Due to your understanding of the human psyche, you are able to unnerve people just by being in the same area as them. Periodically, a “chase” will begin with the obsession. “It’s not them, it’s us…”). Home Map: Albtraum Home for the Criminally troubled. Item to be sent there: Therapy Doll (“A small hand-made doll that looks strangely familiar. Its creator and owner are both unknown, but at this point, they are probably as active as the abandoned doll.”)
Kimberly Perks: Prima Donna (Allows the player to wake up other players by raking their nails across the other’s face. “I may be prissy, but my nails can cut deeper than any weapon.”), Freakout (Allows the player to break free of the killer’s grasp/to kick the killer while on the hook, effectively stunning the killer. “Okay, so I may have lost my temper, but like, that’s not that bad. Harm was intended and I retaliated. So what if he ended up in the hospital? Not like he wasn’t warned!”), Not a Princess (Makes it easier to find uncommon or greater item in a chest. “Bitch, I’m the QUEEN!”).
Bryan Perks: Once a Convict (Allows the player to temporarily injure the killer once per match. “Even jail has rules. You know that right?”), Blackout (If the Killer is carrying a survivor and gets hit with a pallet by the player using this perk, the stun duration lasts moderately longer than normal. “Oh God…What…What happened? What did I do?!”), Cell Farm (Expands the area of view for the player. “I remember these letters. They had pigeons and pigs and cows on them…I always wanted a farm.”).
Chad Perks: Keg Stand (Allows the player to vault through windows and over pallets at running speed while walking or sneaking. “I’ve done more acrobatic shit while stoned and drunk out of my mind!”), Do or Die (Being thrown into a trial with familiar faces fills you with a sense of determination, increasing the speed at which altruistic actions are performed. “My coach would say it’s do or die time before each game. So I’m going to say the same thing. Except, he meant it in a sarcastic sense, and I’m being serious.”), 2nd Amendment (Allows the player to throw a rock to stun the killer twice per match. “I may not have a real gun, but rocks work just as well mother fuckers!”).
Arder Perks: Hija de la luna/Daughter of the Moon (Makes the player completely silent when not running at the cost of movement speed. “If I stay still, they won’t see me.”), Gato del Purgatorio/Cat of Purgatory (Allows the player to retaliate against the killer. Only if the player is carrying an item and the killer is carrying a survivor will this be able to activate. Once the killer is hit, the player will drop their item and gain increased movement speed to make a quick getaway. “You aren’t my owner.”), Rogar/Pray (Allows the player to sacrifice themselves while on the hook, so long as two generators are active and at least one survivor other than themselves remains unhooked. “Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the lord my soul to keep, since I’ll die while awake, my life is forever yours to take.”)
Dr. William Albtraum III Perks: Mystery Rail (Disrupts the killer’s aura reading abilities, and will very rarely trigger a false notification for the killer. “You’ll never find me, unless I want you to find me!”), Dark Science (Decreases the healing, sabotaging, and repairing speed of all other survivor in visual range while increasing your own speed. “The most important person here is me, the rest of you should be thankful I’m even pretending to help you.”), Living Automatons (Upon a failed skill check, another survivor’s location will also be made visible to the killer as well as your own. “If I go down, you’re all coming with me!”).

what are some tips you have for slay the spire? i've been playing it and i've found that i'm... bad at it. i enjoy it!! but i'm awful at that game
okay, first of all, a disclaimer and assurance:
(that’s 13 victories and 193 deaths btw, if you have difficulty with images. in about 85 hours of gameplay.)it’s a hard game! there’s a bunch of rng to work around and with! so don’t feel bad about having difficulties ascending the spire. it took me a while to actually win as ironclad--i beat the spire as the silent first. so let’s talk about some key points... which really all amounts to planning, and minimising/acting around the randomness. Planning the Path: The game lets you see the floors. Use this accordingly. Try to hit up shops if you’ve got at least 50 gold (I’d double mark this one, since it’ll give you, essentially, a floor you won’t lose any health on--and there’s always a chance for that sweet sweet Apotheosis, which is usually around 200 gold), elites, question marks (depending on you, but I love seeing if I can get some helpful event), avoid ‘basic’ fights when you can. Consider carefully what health you have before the potential choice of a boss fight. and if youre around 50-75% health at campfires (lean to more if it’s the section’s boss) consider smithing a key card, or whatever activities your relics offer you that run.
Know Your Enemy: This is one, really, that can only come with fighting and maybe (often) dying. The enemies have patterns to attacking. sometimes it’s increasing their strength and blocking, before a bigger hit. other times it’s smacking you with a debuff that’ll add dazed cards to your drawpile if you use skills. still other times is forcing you to not attack a turn-unless you kill them first. as you grow more familiar with the enemies, you’ll be able to weigh the risks and rewards of particular actions better. especially important if you’ve got cards that set up the next turn. Keeping in mind the final boss of each section when deciding may also save your ass.
Pick a Card (’nd a Relic too): there’s only so much you can plan for your deck and what relics you’ll be able to pick up, but again as you get more cards and learn their effects, you’ll learn which cards synergise well with each other, and with which relics. You might have mixed decks which use bits and pieces of different categories. A few general ‘rules’: smaller decks increase the stability of each turn’s hand, larger decks run greater risk of not pulling a card you’ll need right then. Even if a card greatly benefits you, if your deck’s ‘shape’ is already set and it doesn’t fit well, consider just bypassing that choice of cards.
Consider carefully the order which you play cards, and which ones. It’s easy to get pulled along in the ‘flow’ only to realise you could have amplified your damage or your block if you’d done x first. Speeding through fights can come with time. And try to remove the basic defends and strikes. They’ll eventually be outstripped, so they’re best transformed or removed. Unless you’re aiming for the Bite event, or using Perfected Strike. But we’ll talk about exceptions after.
Some general deck types (which you’ve probably had in some shape or form, but it’s good to go over):
For the Ironclad:
Exhaust. Basically rewards you for burning those cards. Bit of a risk in longer fights, but works surprisingly well with the right cards and relics. Good cards include Corruption, Feel No Pain, Sever Soul, Second Wind, Dark Embrace, Fiend Fire, Immolate (with Evolve and Power Through especially, or an otherwise cursed deck). Getting exhaust-related relics will just increase stability.
Strength. Fairly straightforward, build up that extra attack power to deal massive damage. Demon Form is expensive but if you’re willing to burn a turn for it/got the extra energy for it, it really ramps over time. Flex gives a bit extra oomph in a turn, and more if you can get Limit Break (even more with upgraded, since it won’t exhaust). Heavy Blade becomes monstrous, especially when upgraded.
Block builds. I’d argue these are the most stable, barring being hit with the Frail debuff. Cards that will give this type of deck the most are Barricade (do upgrade it, it’s expensive), Entrench, and upgraded Body Slams to turn all that sweet, sweet defense into almighty offense. Of course you gotta build up that defense, so pick your blocks as you please. I like Flame Barrier myself, Power Through if also exhaust/Evolve is on.
There are also cards that reward burning HP to deal damage/give Strength, but you’d have to be very measured about it, to not accidentally kill yourself. Bringing in healing and block so enemies don’t hurt you too much is wise.
For the Silent:
Poison. Honestly one of my fave builds, meshes well with a Block-heavy deck. You sit happily behind your shields while their health gets eaten away. Noxious Fumes, Envenom, and Bouncing Flask are all big players, and if you can get Catalyst and upgrade it, it will triple any poison a enemy has.
Shiv: Getting in a handful of essentially free attacks every turn is delicious. Meets the poison build well with Envenom, but by itself: Accuracy, Blade Dance, Infinite Blades+ (to have it always at the start). A Thousand Cuts and Afterimage also work especially well with this build, since every card played will deal extra damage/get extra block, respectively. Panache too, though it’s not a Silent-specific card. Storm of Steel is wonderful if you’ve pulled a few extra cards first.
Draw and Discard: the Silent is a planner; there are several cards that encourage such, some giving you energy now or next turn, increasing draws... Secret Technique, Secret Weapon, and Thinking Ahead will further improve this. Special note goes to Masterful Stab and Grand Finale. It might be difficult to actually use those two, but they reward you for careful draws and discards.
Keep in mind! You don’t have to get all those cards to make the deck types work, they just benefit greatly. And of course there are the cards that are technically of a ‘family’ of cards, but benefit other deck types too. And cards that don’t really belong to any. And cards that benefit defying the usual (looking at you, Mind Blast).
Just keep in mind what you already have in terms of cards and relics. Someone on steam has a general guide to relics, and it’s worth looking at to get a general sense of relics do, even if you don’t necessarily agree with all the ratings (the Lizard Tail has saved my ass more than once, and allowed me to win).
But again: this is a roguelike! It’s hard! And sometimes things just aren’t in your favour. But it’s okay, just think about where things might’ve gone differently. and maybe where you need to defy the general rules. The most success I’ve personally had, is with relatively bulky decks. Which goes against the small deck logic. So experiment, try the challenges. Eventually, after a long time, you’ll get a win. And it will be oh so satisfying.
