These are my boards I made for NCEA Level 3 Photography last year (I got excellence with scholarship!!!!!).

My theme was Forgotten Objects. Board 1 focuses on the origin of the objects. I took photos in a local op shop and of where/how I store the objects at home). Board 2 focuses on the artistic nature of the objects. I arranged them into gradients, blended macro photos of the objects, and also placed them on monochromatic backgrounds relating to the objects. Board 3 takes a more scientific approach. I created gallery style labels and displayed the objects as if they were part of a museum exhibition. Across the boards the objects get more and more organized.

Congrats to all my kiwi ncea peeps. It doesn't matter what your results are, you survived and your alive!!!!!!! Over-acheivers be happy with merits and achieves!!! And if you failed I feel for you and know that ncea doesn't define you and there is more to life than trying to write a deep and thought provoking essay on Ernest Hemingway in an hour. You have your whole life ahead of you to live. Live it.

Queen Margaret College has 100 years’ experience in delivering world class education to girls. We are an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School known for delivering outstanding academic results. Our curriculum promotes multilingualism, intercultural understanding and global engagement, broadening perspectives and bringing new experiences to learning.

We offer dual-curriculum pathways for seniors, meaning they have a unique opportunity to choose the type of education they receive, depending on their individual strengths, interests and learning styles.

Senior school students in Years 11 -13 are given the choice of two academic pathways, NCEA or the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBD).

In Year 11, students sit NCEA Level 1 as the foundation course for the dual qualification pathway before they make a decision.

NCEA stands for National Certificate of Educational Achievement is New Zealand’s qualification for Year 11-13 students. It is a standards-based assessment combining a mix of both internal and external assessments. At QMC girls have the opportunity to study levels 1-3 of NCEA. Credits are awarded as Achieved, Merit or Excellence.

The IB Learner profile is a set of learning outcomes that go beyond academic success. The profile aims to develop learners who are knowledgeable, principled, open-minded, caring, balanced and reflective. Learners are encouraged to be inquirers, thinkers, communicators and risk takers.

The IB model includes six academic subject groups that students study concurrently. Students study six subjects selected from the subject groups. Normally three subjects are studied at a higher level and the remaining three subjects are studied at standard level.

There are three core requirements that are central to the philosophy of the IB Diploma; The Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) and the Extended Essay (EE).

Our academic success is outstanding. QMC is proud to have a 100% pass rate for eight out of the nine years since the IB Diploma was introduced. This is even more impressive as, unlike many schools, QMC does not preselect students on academic ability. Our average is 36. Our continuous data tracking closely monitors student progress, and extra academic support is given if required.

Pass the year (in other words pass chemistry because that is the only exam I need to pass to pass the year [NCEA is weird])

Pass the year with Excellence (same as above but do well in Chem not just pass)

Finish high school

Get a degree

Have a stable job

Go to Europe and Asia

Write a book

Get a PhD in something that will confuse people

Maybe write another book

Leave civilisation behind

Understand probability

im gonna take it as my sole purpose in life to re-educate my stupid conspiracy-theorist city that the chlorine smell in chlorinated tap water is caused by — you guessed it! — CHLORINE!! and not by the germs reacting with the chlorine (so if the water smells it means it’s full of germs, and your water is dirty, EW!!)
