48 with nb lesbian Ben/Bev!
i have made you wait SO LONG for this... i hope you like it.
“We’ve become the clingy couple that you used to complain about.”
***
Closing their eyes, Ben takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly. They are so tired but still have so much work to do. They look down at their computer and shake their head. Part of them knows that they should just get up, and take a break for a while, for the night, or even the week, but they don’t move.
After nearly forty minutes of doing everything except working, they close their computer and walk out to the front room hoping to find Bev, but she’s not there which means she’s in her studio, which means they can’t interrupt her.
Sighing loudly, Ben goes to the kitchen. Maybe a snack will help. As soon as they open the cabinet though, they remember they still haven’t gotten more groceries. Normally they have groceries delivered, but they’d both been so busy they hadn’t even had time to order food.
Yawning a little, they grab some water and lean against the counter as they pull up the grocery list on their phone that they’ve been making for several days now, almost weeks really. Taking another deep breath, Ben shoots Bev a text before going to their room to change out of their joggers and into some jeans.
Ben 4:17 pm: Hey, babe. I give up working for now and I’m going to the store. Hope your work is going better than mine. 😘
They are just zipping up their jeans when Bev comes rushing into the bedroom.
“I wanna come! Bev says a little breathlessly. She’d clearly come running up the flight of stairs. Her hair is a mess and she’s covered in fabric scraps and thread.
Chuffing softly, Ben gets up and kisses her cheek. “Yeah?” They smile gently at her. “Maybe we could grab an early dinner? I didn’t have much of a lunch.” They don’t want to tell her lunch had been a Monster energy drink and some Ding Dongs because they could already her her that’s not lunch speech.
“Yeah, ok. Give me a few minutes to change.” She disappears into their large walk in closet.
Ben flops back on the bed as they listen to her change. She’s humming something under her breath something that Ben doesn’t really recognize but it doesn’t really matter. They just love listening to her because humming means she’s happy.
A minute later she comes out in some dark pants and a soft sweater, jacket in her hand. She has a lot of jackets by the door but somehow always has more in their bedroom closet. It may be spring, but that doesn’t stop the snow from coming.
On the way into town, they decide to go to their favorite diner, and Ben can’t seem to keep their eyes off of Bev. They are sometimes awed by the fact that Bev really is there, that they really are together even after almost three months. There’d been so much lost time, and then everything that happened in Derry, everything that had happened with Eddie, Stan, and Richie. It was almost all too much. Ben can’t imagine life without Bev, can barely remember what life had been like without her, but fortunately they don’t have to.
Ben is so lost in thought that they miss pulling into the parking lot, and Bev pulls them back to the now by leaning over and kissing their cheek.
“Hey, you know what?” Bev asks, huge smile on her face.
“What?”
“I love you so much.”
Laughing a little, Ben blushes and nods. They don’t think they will ever get over hearing their girlfriend say that.
“Yeah, I love you too.” Ben leans over and kisses her on the mouth softly. They want to add something about how lucky they are, the both of them, to get this chance to be together after all this time, but Bev just winks at them.
“You’d better.” Bev pulls away and gets out of the car. As they walk up to the restaurant, Bev pushes her way into Ben’s space and shoves her hand in their back pocket as they walk up to the restaurant.
After they are led to their table, Bev sits next to Ben, and leans into them while they look over their menus. Every once in a while one of them leans over to kiss a cheek. They hold hands under the table and just enjoy being close. It’s been such a fucking bad week that it’s nice to just be together.
When they get their food, they stay close, knocking into each other occasionally but neither of them really mind. Ben had ordered pancakes and Bev got a burger and they share their food. The waiter keeps checking in on them and even gives them free refills on orange juice even though they are usually charged for that.
When they are done eating, Ben rests their forehead on Bev’s shoulder and sighs a little as they both wait for the check.
“Hey, Bev?”
“Yes, love?”
“I don’t want to go to the store any more.”
Scoffing, Bev pulls away but she is smiling too widely to be really mad. “You’re such a turkey. Going to the store was your idea!”
“Yeah, but I was just going to the store. I wasn’t going to go out and eat.”
Rolling her eyes, Bev kisses Ben’s cheek as the waiter brings the check. “Come on, you brat.” Bev gets up and tugs Ben up with her.
Groaning, Ben follows her to the counter.
When they get to the grocery store, Ben wraps their arm around Bev’s waist and puts their hand in her back pocket for nearly the entire trip. When they get home, they put the groceries away and curl up on the couch together. Ben lays next to Bev, their head on her chest as they listen to the beat of her heart while they stroke her arm so, so gently.
Ben is just drifting off to sleep when a thought pops into their head and they giggle a little.
“What?” Bev mumbles.
“Nothing. Go to sleep,” Ben murmurs.
“Nnnn… Tell me.”
“We’ve become the clingy couple that you used to complain about.”
Silence, and then Bev flatly asks, “What?”
“I said—” Ben starts, but Bev cuts them off.
“I heard you, but what do you mean?”
“We’ve barely stopped touching since we left. We shared how many kisses?” Ben shakes their head a little, laughing. “We are disgustingly cute.”
Bev snorts with laughter. “Yeah you are.” She kisses the top of Ben’s head and pulls them closer, settling deeper into the couch.
“I love you so much, Ben.” She presses another kiss to their hair.
“I love you so much, too, Bev,” Ben whispers back. They take a deep breath and let it out slowly. “Is sleep time.”
“Mhmmm,” Bev responds.
They both fall asleep quickly and wake up just after midnight. As they sit up and look at each other, they know they are completely fucked because neither of them are going to get any more sleep that night.

So yesterday after I changed my url, @dysregulardyke said that people were probably waiting for my nb lesbian Ben Hanscom hcs, so here they are even though no one really asked.
Birth name: Bernadette, but everyone calls them Bennie as a kid
Pronouns are they/them, but feels all giddy when they get called ‘sir’ cause it’s better than ma’am.
Loves cuddling with their friends, but Bev especially
Will NOT go swimming in a pool, but definitely will swim with the losers at the quarry (although they keep their shirt on)
Loves doing stuff with their hands whether cooking with their mom or puzzles with Stan or building stuff. They love the sense of accomplishment.
Bowers is still a complete dick because Ben runs around with boys, has short hair, and wears boys clothes.
Ben is not scared of him though, and they are just as protective of their friends, Bev especially
Bev’s dad HATES them more than the boys but won’t say why because he doesn’t want to give Bev any ideas
Ben is grey aro ace
Like many, they are very confused and feel broken about their gender and sexuality
They don’t go on their first date until college
It’s fine until their date pushes sexy times
Their roommate finds them crying on the bathroom floor and is ready to go off
Ben doesn’t really understand their gender or sexuality until their roommate makes them join the GSA and once Ben has the words they shout them from the rooftops
They double major in architecture and sociology
They have The Best Advisor who is also trans
Ben is so scared to tell their mom, but their mom is so supportive and loving
They have one serious girlfriend with a woman named Kay after college but they break up because Kay needs something different than Ben can provide. They stay friends though because of course they do.
Ben loves making out with their partners
When Mike calls, they are so scared to go back to Derry
Everyone knew they were different but not why or how
Mike is beyond supportive and tells the other Losers when he calls them. He knows they won’t be dicks, but there is enough stress none needs to be added.
Richie still goes gaga over Ben because Ben is fucking Hot
He immediately apologizes when Ben tells him they are a lesbian while Bev just 👀👀
After Derry, Ben helps get Bev’s stuff from her ex’s and they move to Colorado where they have a huge house and and a few pets and the other Losers (Stan and Eddie included because ofc they live) come over and they all hang out and everything is good and there’s no more bad.

just a little college au nb lesbian ben to start the year off right.
cw: d slur and f slur are used
***
On the first warm day of the year, Ben is lying under a tree with their head in their girlfriend Bev’s lap. Ben knows they are biased but they can’t help thinking that Bev is the prettiest woman on the planet, especially when the sun shines through the leaves and her hair. Her beauty is just so much that sometimes Ben forgets to breathe.
Sighing, Ben reaches up and curls their fingers around Bev’s ankle. Smiling, she looks down at them as she brushes some hair out of their face.
“Hey you, you ok?” Bev asks.
“Mhmm. Sleepy.”
“Eddie and Bill will be back with the coffee in just a minute.” She leans over and kisses Ben’s forehead before she begins stroking their hair. Closing their eyes, Ben sighs again while they listen to their friends complain about classes and homework.
Ben is just drifting off when they hear it.
“Look at the fucking dykes!” someone yells.
Jolting up, Ben looks around. They see a group of men about their age. The one who’d spoken is Henry Bowers, a complete and total asshole who’d been in their Sociology 101 class two years before. Bev puts a hand on Ben’s shoulder, starts to say something, but falls silent as they watch Richie scramble to his feet.
“What the fuck did you just say, dip shit?” Richie has his fists raised and Ben has a very bad feeling about this.
“I said, look at the fucking dykes! What are you going to do about it, faggot?” Bowers taunts.
Richie ignores his friends’ protests and walks over to Bowers, slamming his fist into Bowers’s face, both of them crying out in pain.
“Richie!” Eddie yells as Bowers grabs Richie’s collar and punches him hard. He drops the coffees and breaks out into a run to get to his boyfriend. Richie’s glasses go flying and everyone is trying to get up as Bowers continues to punch Richie. Even though Eddie has a head start, Ben gets to them first.
Pulling Bowers back by his shirt, Ben’s heart races as they slam their fist into Bowers’s shocked face. Pain blooms through their hand and up their arm, but they ignore it as they just keep slamming their fist into Bowers’s face until Mike’s strong hands pull Ben back.
“Stop, Ben, stop,” Mike yells into their ear as they try to struggle away.
“Fucking- Just let me-” Ben struggles.
Two guys with Bowers help him to his feet, both of them glaring at Ben. Once on his feet, Bowers spits blood. His face is a wreck. Ben can’t help but smile, and their smile widens when they see Bowers’s blood on their knuckles.
“You are such a fucking freak!” Bowers yells.
Ben tries to tug free, but Mike just holds tighter.
“Shut the fuck up, Henry,” one of the other men says as they pull Henry away.
“Listen to your friend, Bowers, or I’ll kick your ass again,” Ben growls.
Bowers opens his mouth to say something, but his friends pull him away.
“C’mon.” Mike tugs Ben to their friends. Richie is on his knees whimpering, his fist held to his chest.
“Richie, let me see your hand!” Eddie nearly sobs.
“Come on, baby boy,” Stan tries. “It’s going to be ok. Just let us see it.”
“No, no, no, no,” Richie moans.
“What’s wrong with him?” Mike asks.
“I th- think he b- broke his th- thumb,” Bill says.
“How?!” Mike demands.
“He probably put his thumb inside his fist,” Ben says, pushing through the group. Ben kneels next to Richie, brushes some of his hair back, and whispers, “Come on, Rich. Let me see your hand.”
Sobbing, Richie slowly pulls his hand away from his chest, and Ben can see it’s already bruising and swelling. Eddie immediately begins to gag and he pushes himself away. Stan sighs and kisses Richie’s temple.
“Come on, baby boy, time to go pay a little visit to the nurse,” Stan says as he tries to coax Richie to his feet.
Everyone backs up until Richie is standing up and then they silently regroup around him as they walk to the Health and Wellness Center. Eddie and Stan lean close to Richie, talking quietly to him as they walk down the path. Bill and Mike are in the front, Bev and Ben bring up the rear.
“How’s your hand?” Bev asks. She lifts Ben’s hand to inspect it, but it’s hard to really tell if there’s something wrong because it is covered in Bowers’s blood.
Flexing it a little, Ben sighs. “Knuckles are a little sore, but I’m sure I’ll be fine.”
Leaning closer, Bev kisses Ben’s cheek. “I’m glad you’re ok.”
“I’m fine. Are you ok?” Ben asks. Ignoring the pain, Ben laces their fingers together and squeezes lightly.
“I’m-” She shrugs and lets out a sigh. “I’m just so fucking tired, you know?” She laughs a little mirthlessly. “Wish we could have just one week go by without being harassed, you know?”
Nodding, Ben kisses her cheek. “I know.”
Bev smiles at them softly. “I love you so much.”
“Love you, too.”
When they get to the Health and Wellness Center, Ben and Bev find a bathroom so they can wash up and assess the damage. Fortunately Ben’s knuckles are just a little bruised, and Ben knows they just need time.
Ben and Bev go back to join Mike and Bill as they wait for Richie, Eddie, and Stan to come back out. The other two had gone in with Richie to hold his hand. Ben wants to lean into Bev, but they just take Bev’s hand and lean sideways a little so they can look at Bev while they talk quietly.
Nearly an hour later, Richie comes out with a bandaged face and hand, but he seems to be in better spirits. He comes right over to Bev and Ben, pulls them into a group hug.
“Are you two ok?” Richie asks.
“Yeah, we’re fine,” Bev says.
“Are you ok?” Ben asks and Richie begins to giggle.
“They gave him some really strong pain meds,” Stan explains as he pulls Richie back up. “Come on baby, let’s go get some food in you.”
“I want pizza!” Richie yells. Eddie shushes him. “No! I want three pizzas!” Richie yells even louder.
“Come on, you annoying shit,” Eddie says, taking Richie’s good hand. He all but drags Richie out of the building.
Bill, Mike, Bev, and Ben just laugh.
“G- Guess Ri -Richie is f- fine if E- Eddie’s already t- teasing him,” Bill says. They all laugh again.
They get up and follow the others to their dorm room where Ben pulls Bev into their lap while they wait for pizza.
Ben sits there just sort of drifting in their thoughts. Bowers is such a fucking asshole, Ben doesn’t know why he is still at school, he clearly hates it. Ben wishes Bowers would just leave them the fuck alone, no. That would be too easy.
Sighing, Ben leans forward and kisses Bev behind her ear while she talks to Stan about some math problem they’d been working on all week.
Turning a little, Bev faces Ben. “Yes, darling?”
Ben shakes their head. “Nothing. Just wanted to make sure you knew how much I love you.”
Bev smiles widely. “I love you, too.” She leans over and kisses Ben on the lips, cupping their face so gently. Ben deepens the kiss and they continue to make out until Stan starts throwing popcorn at them.
Laughing, Ben and Bev pull apart.
“Can we help you?” Ben asks.
“Uh, Bev and I were in the middle of a conversation,” Stan points out. They all laugh. Bev kisses the tip of Ben’s nose and squirms a little in Ben’s lap until she’s comfortably facing Stan. Without asking, she shoves her feet into Stan’s lap and they keep talking math until the pizza comes.
Richie answers the door and begins to cry when he sees all the pizzas and Bill has to get up to save the pizza delivery person as Richie tries to hug them.
A few minutes later, someone hands them both pizza and Ben finally lets themself fully relax. Everything is going to be ok. Everyone is safe, and getting fed, and they are just going to stay in and relax, and just for once the good is outweighing the bad, at least for the moment.
Ben sighs around a mouthful of pizza and Bev squeezes their knee in silent acknowledgement. Ben smiles at her, tightening their grip around her waist.
For the moment everything is ok, and Ben closes their eyes, leaning their head into Bev’s shoulder wishing the moment could last forever.

kissing knuckles
***
Yawning widely, Ben leans into the kitchen counter as they wait for the kettle to boil. It’s been a long day, but they can’t quite get over the fact that Beverly Marsh is upstairs taking a shower and getting ready for bed. Beverly Marsh is going to sleep in Ben’s bed- in their bed.
They’ve just gotten in from Atlanta where they’d left a devastated Richie with Stan. Ben can’t help the guilt that they feel. Richie deserved to have a happy love story as much as Ben and Bev did.
Before they can get too lost in thought, the kettle begins to scream. After turning off the heat, they pour water into two mugs. They have all sorts of expensive tea, but they opt for the Sleepytime with Mint. They grab some expensive honey and cookies, placing them gently on the tray before heading up stairs.
The bedroom door is ajar just like Ben had left it, and they can hear the shower running. Ben had taken their own in the guest bathroom because they both desperately wanted showers, but Ben felt weird showering together. Ben wonders if they should go back downstairs to wait, but quickly chides themself for being silly. Bev isn’t there as a guest; she and Ben are together now, and they are living together. Besides, they’d spent the last several weeks in various hotels, and not once had she seemed to mind to find Ben waiting for her after a shower.
Still, they hesitate.
Taking a deep breath, Ben finally goes in and sets the tray on the bed before crawling under the thick blankets. There’s a loud thunderstorm booming outside, but Ben can barely hear it. They put something on the TV and sip their tea.
A few minutes later, the water shuts off and Ben listens to the soft sounds of Bev getting dressed and doing her post shower routine. She comes out in flannel pajamas that are Ben’s and smelling fruity.
“You made tea?” She asks as she climbs into bed.
“Yeah. It’s just Sleepytime, but-” Bev cuts Ben off with a kiss.
“I love Sleepytime.” Ben just stares with their mouth hanging open as Bev picks up a mug, blows gently, and takes a sip. She leans into Ben’s space as she looks up at the TV. “What are we watching?”
“Huh?” Ben jerks and looks up at the TV. “Oh. Community but we don’t-”
“What’s it about?” She pulls Ben’s arm around her shoulders and snuggles up their side.
And then they just talk about TV and books and Ben shows Bev some of the favorite buildings they’ve designed, and Bev shows Ben her favorite pieces of clothing she’s designed.
They talk until Hulu pops up with that annoying Are you still watching? screen. Their tea is gone, most of the cookies eaten, and Bev is resting with her head on Ben’s chest.
Smiling a little, Ben rubs their thumb over Bev’s knuckles. “You ready to sleep?”
Yawning, Bev shoves her face into Ben’s chest. “I don’t know.” Ben kisses her hair. “I’m scared that when I wake up, none of this will be real and everything-” She stops and Ben squeezes her tighter.
“Me too,” Ben admits.
Bev looks up at them with shiny eyes. “I love you so much, Ben.”
“I love you, too.” They kiss and then shift around until they lay facing each other, legs and arms tangled. Ben kisses Bev’s knuckles gently.
“This is real,” they tell her. “This moment. You and I here. In our bed.”
Smiling, Bev whispers, “Our bed.”
Ben nods. “Our bed.” And then the pause. “Unless you don’t like it, in which case we can go look at some tomorrow. I’ve got a friend in San Francisco-” Ben starts to pull away but Bev stops them.
“I love the bed. I just- It’s so nice to hear. Our bed. Our house. Our space.” She leans over and kisses Ben. “Our life.”
Relaxing a little, Ben smiles. “Our life.”
They settle close and talk about silly things that come to mind until they fall asleep.
When Ben wakes up the next morning, Bev is curled around theory back, her long arms twisted all around their shoulders.
Ben sighs and kisses Bev’s knuckles again. “This is real,” Ben whispers. Bev mumbles something Ben can’t quite make out and just pulls Ben closer. Taking another deep breath, Ben snuggles into their pillows and goes back to sleep.
