“It’s a very interesting story about Kate and Anthony as camp counsellors at a religious summer camp!! It addresses themes of religious guilt, atheism and God, from their perspectives.”
Description: Kate, Anthony, and company navigate American Christian summer camp. What could go wrong?
WIP (5/?) - NR - 14k words
An Inconvenient Arrangement by @doodlingaway
“This story is set after the Sheffield dinner. What if Anthony was honest with Edwina regarding their loveless marriage? And then Kate proposes a marriage of convenience. Chaos ensues. It's a brilliant emotional revelation. Really anything by this author is A+!”
Description: After the Sheffield dinner, Anthony is struck by Kate’s mention that he would break her sister’s heart by calling off their engagement. He decides that a conversation is in order between them to clear the air, which goes about as well as you might expect. Kate is left to pick up the pieces and find a way forward for her family. Which, most disconcertingly, might just involve the one person who has caused all this pain for her family to begin with.
Complete - T - 18k words
bloom by antematter
“An oldie but a goodie. I just reread this as antematter has been pumping out hit after hit these last couple of months. Every one of her stories is stunningly beautiful, but this one was the OG for me. I still remember reading it the first time round in complete awe and waiting so anxiously for the second chapter. It was my first soul marks fic, and I’ve been in love with the trope ever since. Antematter is a fandom gem!“

Description: She is glad that Edwina managed to find a good match for herself - despite all of Kate's meddling and disapproval and interference. And after she goes home and hands the settlement papers to Mary with careful instructions regarding its notarization and safekeeping, she must congratulate her sister as well, sweetly and sincerely, and wash her hands off the entire affair. For she has now been set free.
WIP (5/10) - M - 28k words
A Promise Made In Haste by @waterlilyrose
“Hands down the best take on the 'What if Anthony married Edwina' premise that I have read. It's a very slow burn as the author takes the time to actually navigate regency era divorce (taking some liberties, of course). A really spectacular, thorough journey to their HEA.”
Description: An AU where Anthony actually goes through with marrying Edwina and Kate actually goes back to India. And Anthony and Edwina (after maybe a year or so into their marriage--which is going miserably by the way) go to visit her in India.
Complete - E - 107k words
time makes fools of us all. by limeny
Description: Kate gave her sister the most exasperated look she could manage in a fuzzy pink sweater. “Edwina Sharma,” she scoffed. “What on Earth possessed you to say yes to a loser that would allow a bored widow to play matchmaker for him?” A modern AU love story in the span of a year.

New Releases
All of these books look interesting to me. I don't even know which book I want to add to my TBR reading list first.
Gita Desai Is Not Here to Shut Up by Sonia Patel Penguin/Nancy Paulsen Books
It’s eighteen-year-old Gita Desai’s first year at Stanford University, and it’s a miracle she’s here and not already married off by her traditional Gujarati parents. She’s determined to death-grip her good-girl, model-student rep all the way to medical school, which means no social life or standing out in any way. Should be easy: If there’s one thing she’s learned from her family it’s how to chup-re—to “shut up,” fade into the background.
But when childhood memories of her aunt’s desertion and her then-uncle’s best friend resurface, Gita ditches the books night after night in favor of partying and hooking up with strangers. Still, nothing can stop the nagging voice in her head that’s growing louder and louder, insisting something’s wrong… and the only way she can burst forward is to stop shutting-up about the past.
Click below to read about all of this week's new releases.
Ida, in Love and in Trouble by Veronica Chambers Little, Brown Books for Young Readers
Before she became a warrior, Ida B. Wells was an incomparable flirt with a quick wit and a dream of becoming a renowned writer. The first child of newly freed parents who thrived in a community that pulsated with hope and possibility after the Civil War, Ida had a big heart, big ambitions, and even bigger questions: How to be a good big sister when her beloved parents perish in a yellow fever epidemic? How to launch her career as a teacher? How to make and keep friends in a society that seems to have no place for a woman who speaks her own mind? And – always top of mind for Ida – how to find a love that will let her be the woman she dreams of becoming?
Ahead of her time by decades, Ida B. Wells pioneered the field of investigative journalism with her powerful reporting on violence against African Americans. Her name became synonymous with courage and an unflinching demand for racial and gender equality. But there were so many facets to Ida Bell and critically acclaimed writer Veronica Chamber unspools her full and colorful life as Ida comes of age in the rapidly changing South, filled with lavish society dances and parties, swoon-worthy gentleman callers, and a world ripe for the taking.

From morality to ethics
By creating a philosophy based in affect, Spinoza initiated a radical critique of ruling institutions and authorities and the ways they exercise control through subjection, including toxic morality inherited from centuries of Christianity, heteropatriarchy, capitalism, and the state. But Spinoza’s philosophy did not just undermine Empire’s dominant morality in order to replace it with a different one; it undermined morality itself. His worldview was at odds with any notion of an ultimate ground of right and wrong that was uniform for everyone, abstracted from the lively flux of relationships and situations. For Spinoza, life was an exploration of the forces of the world, not conformity to a fixed ideal.
For moralists this is dangerous because there’s no guarantee against evil, and no ultimate foundation for moral judgment. Yet the Spinozan lineage is not about everyone doing whatever they please, according to isolated interests and preferences. On the contrary, recognizing our interconnectedness means becoming capable of more fidelity to our web of relations and our situations, not less. This fidelity is not moral; it is ethical.
Ethics is often spoken of colloquially as an individual morality: a static set of principles held by individuals (ethical consumption, codes of ethics, and so on). In fact, dictionary definitions conflate ethics with the “moral principles that govern a person’s behavior.”[54] But as Deleuze explains, a Spinozan conception of ethics results in a completely different set of questions:
There’s a fundamental difference between Ethics and Morality. Spinoza doesn’t make up a morality, for a very simple reason: he never asks what we must do, he always asks what we are capable of, what’s in our power, ethics is a problem of power, never a problem of duty. In this sense Spinoza is profoundly immoral. Regarding the moral problem, good and evil, he has a happy nature because he doesn’t even comprehend what this means. What he comprehends are good encounters, bad encounters, increases and diminutions of power. Thus he makes an ethics and not at all a morality.[55]
Whereas morality asks and answers the question: “what should one do?” a Spinozan ethics asks: “what is one capable of?” Unlike the cold abstraction of morality, a body’s capacities can only be discovered through attunement and experimentation, starting right where you are. You never know until you try. In trying, whether you “succeed” or “fail,” you will have learned and changed, and the situation will have changed, even if only slightly. This sounds simple, and in many ways it is. It speaks to the ways that many of us already try to navigate our everyday lives: not by adhering to fixed commandments, but by learning to inhabit our own situations in ways that make us more capable and more jointly alive.
Someone gets in touch with bird migrations, insects, weather patterns: they affect her more and more deeply as she tunes into their rhythms, over months and years. They begin to make her up. The loss is palpable as fewer return each year, and her hatred of the destruction grows alongside her love of the few remaining refuges for non-human creatures where she lives. Her rage and despair finds resonance with others, similarly entwined, and they figure out how to fight together. This is neither individual self-interest, nor moral altruism. It is relational ethics: the willingness to nurture and defend relationships.[56]
Two friends fold their lives together; they draw new capacities out of each other. They hurt each other, and they work through it, emerging more intertwined than before. They are no longer sure which ideas and mannerisms were “their own” and which belonged to the friend. They know each other’s triggers and tendencies, intimately. One finds himself in trouble, and the other drops everything to help, at great personal risk. But this risk and sacrifice is not because it is morally right, or because they have calculated that it is in their own self-interest. It is not even felt as a choice; it is something drawn out of them.
Ethics is the dynamic space beyond static morality and vapid self-interest: it is the capacity to be responsive to the relationships that make us up. Whether consciously or not, our desires and choices are the product of everything that affects us. While this kind of thinking and practice may be intuitive, it runs against dominant strands of both Western knowledge and morality, which strive for universalism and generalizability: they tend towards pinning things down, dictating how we should act, or predicting what is likely. They ask what humans are and always will be, what we should always do, or what we usually do (and how we can be controlled). In contrast, a Spinozan ethics is attuned to the singularity and openness of each situation: what are we capable of here and now, together, at this time, in this place, amid the relations in which we are embedded?
From this perspective, it is not about creating self-contained units, but about participating in complex, shifting, relational processes. We always begin in the middle: amid our situations, in our neighborhoods, with our own penchants, habits, loves, complicities, and connections. There is no individual that comes before the dense network of relations in which we’re embedded. This relational space eludes the traps of individual self-interest and moral duty. It is a space beyond isolated individuals and altruistic saviors. We are always participating in the making of our worlds, and being made by them. From this perspective, freedom can mean nothing other than the ethical expansion of what we’re capable of—what we’re able to feel and do together. In this vein, the Invisible Committee writes,
Freedom isn’t the act of shedding our attachments, but the practical capacity to work on them, to move around in their space, to form or dissolve them … the freedom to uproot oneself has always been a fantasmic freedom. We can’t rid ourselves of what binds us without at the same time losing the very thing to which our forces would be applied.[57]
Freedom here is not the absence of restriction or attachment, but the capacity to become more active in shaping our attachments. This becoming-active is not about controlling things, but about learning to participate in their flow, forming intense bonds through which we become implicated in each other’s struggles and capacities. Within the Spinozan current, friendship is being revalued: not as a bond between individuals, but as an ethical relation that remakes us, together, in an ongoing process of becoming otherwise. Similarly, feminist philosopher Donna Haraway has argued that “making kin” across divides of species, nation, gender, and other borders is perhaps the most urgent task today.[58] Through friendship or kinship we undo ourselves and become new, in potentially radical and dangerous ways. In this sense, friendship is at the root of freedom.

Khalid Nassour is special to me because he inherits one of the most iconic monikers in DC, and his journey to becoming a capable Dr Fate was one in which he had to become really enlightened. At the start of his journey, Khalid is rather narrow-minded. He’s visibly aware and nervous of being negatively perceived as an Egyptian man to the point that he asks his prof to call him Kent instead of Nassour. He doesn’t take activism protests seriously and avoids attending them despite his loved ones supporting the cause. And yet when he gets the helmet, the first things he does is save people, save his father, sacrifice his own vision for his father, and help his city. Deep down, Khalid cares deeply but lacks conviction and pride. And over the course of dying, navigating magic and Nabu, Khalid grows so much more in touch with his own faith, heritage, identity, and loved ones. Fate in Khalid’s hands is the ability to become what you always were deep inside, and open one’s mind. And although I really dislike Khalid being half Christian half Muslim (that’s impossible btw you can’t do that otherwise you’re just not Muslim) and I vastly prefer YJ’s take on his mom being a revert, I appreciate what Levit was trying to do, by weaving various levels of faith into Khalid’s inner circle and allowing him to respect all of them. While I wish his Muslim side was shown more, I do think that’s a beautiful message for a Dr Fate who is sworn to protect everyone, as well as the first of that title to be a brown Egyptian muslim man.

I know Pedro isn’t a religious person, but I know his cousin said she remembered his baptism. Do you know what religion he was baptised as? Catholic, Christian, Protestant? I’m assuming catholic since South America is predominantly Roman Catholic 😊😊
What religion is Pedro Pascal?
Pedro has never specifically mentioned what religion he was christened. However, he was christened by a Catholic priest in 1975.
Pedro clarifies his view on his faith in Solar Magazine (Feb 2017):
"I can’t even imagine what my parents had to go through when they escaped from Chile and that has left me an inheritance of guilt that, perhaps, has determined the way in which my brothers and I navigated the world. We’ve also had very tragic losses in my family, and that helps you focus on what’s really important and how you should treat people. I don’t know what I believe in. I am completely agnostic and the idea of a god seems silly to me. I do not mean that spirituality is alien to me, but I have not developed any link with that concept either, but I do know that the most valuable thing is to be a good person."
If you're new to the fandom, want to know more about Pedro Pascal or just need a break from the chaos of life, please check out my pinterest archive, Pedro Pascal Unofficial. 9k+ original pics with links, videos, articles and interviews. 100% pure Pedro with zero drama✌️

“The queer young adult story that I’ve been desperately craving for years!” —Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé, New York Times bestselling author of Ace of Spades and Where Sleeping Girls Lie
In this YA contemporary fantasy, the teen son of the local mortician accidentally reanimates the dead body of the boy he had more than friendly feelings for, but can he keep him alive for good before their time runs out? Perfect for fans of Cemetery Boys and The Taking of Jake Livingston!
When you grow up in a funeral home, death is just another part of life. But for sixteen-year-old Jaxon Santiago-Noble, it’s also part of his family’s legacy. Most dead bodies in the town of Jacob’s Barrow wind up at Jaxon’s house; his mom is the local mortician, after all. He doesn’t usually pay them much mind, but when Christian Reyes is brought in after a car accident, Jaxon’s world is turned upside down.
There are a lot of things Jaxon wishes he could have said to his once best friend and first crush. When he accidentally resurrects Christian, Jaxon might finally have that chance. But the more he learns about his newfound necromancy, the more he grasps that Christian’s running on borrowed time—and it's almost out.
As he navigates dark, mysterious magics and family secrets, Jaxon realizes that stepping into an inherited power may also mean opening up old family wounds if he wants to keep the boy he may be falling for alive for good.
Review:
When the son of the local mortician accidentally brings back his dead ex best friend/crush, he finds that his life is connected with him... and that they'll have to find a way to figure it out before he takes the life out of him. Jaxon is a sixteen-year old boy who grew up in a funeral home, he's the son of a mortician, and he's used to death... until he finds the dead body of his ex best friend/crush Christian Reyes right on the table. Christian died in a car accident and that was before Jaxon was able to make up with him, let alone confess his feelings. Yet when Jaxon visits the body and accidentally reanimates Christian...he discovers that Christian's life is connected to his own and that he's taking from it. It also doesn't help that Christian is determined to get back into Jaxon's good graces, making it harder and harder for Jaxon to even think about letting him go. Jaxon has to figure out what inherited abilities he has and how he can keep Christian alive without killing himself. This book had an interesting premise and a simple necromancy system however I just didn't really care all that much for the characters or the relationship between Jaxon and Christian. The ending wraps up and I am left feeling "meh" about it all. It just felt like a miss for me and the plot just felt bland. The characters don't really connect with me and I really wish that they had. Their relationship just didn't feel all that well fleshed out and I'm just happy to have reached the end of the book. I would say if you like queer YA Romances and second chances then I'd give this one a go.

Today we celebrate our Venerable Mother Ita the Hermitess of Killeedy. Saint Ita was of illustrious descent and was born into Irish nobility. As a child, all marvelled at her purity and virtue, especially her generosity and gentleness in both word and deed. She excelled in the “six gifts” of Irish womanhood – wisdom, purity, beauty, music, sweet speech, and embroidery. Refusing to marry and spurning the worldly life of riches and comfort, she left the world and with her great inheritance, founded a school and convent at Killeedy, a county which still bears her name to this day. At her convent, she accepted children whom she raised into piety, many of them becoming great beacons of Christianity in Ireland, and thus, Saint Ita became known as the “Foster Mother of the Irish Saints”. One of the saints whom she raised from only a year old was Saint Brendan the Navigator, whom she instilled great Christian piety upon. She often counselled him about the three things most displeasing to God: a face that hates mankind, a will that clings to the love of evil, and placing one’s entire trust in riches. She also taught him the three things which are most pleasing to God: the firm belief of a pure heart in God, the simple religious life, and liberality with charity. Many, including Saint Brendan, would often come to her for spiritual counsel throughout their lives, and many received healing from her as she knew much about both physical and spiritual medicine. The Hermitess Ita reposed peacefully in the Lord at an old age. Her feast day remains a local holiday in her district and many Irish girls are named after the the Saint, being second in line to Saint Brigid of Kildare. May she intercede for us always + #saint #ita #ireland #hermit #hermitess #convent #monastery #nun #virtue #killeedy #irish #christian #spiritual #holy #mother #abbess #brendan #stbrendan #brigid #bridget #stbrigid #stbridget #kildare #fostermother #foster #irish #orthodox #saintoftheday (at Killeedy, Clare, Ireland) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnaQu37Bb3s/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

A happier life for Henry VIII's children. Part 2.
Elizabeth was the second daughter of King Henry VIII of England and his second wife Anne Boleyn. When the girl was 3 years old, the king annulled the marriage to her mother. Henry sent Anne to a convent and forbade Anne to communicate with her daughter, and soon afterward married Jane Seymour. She developed a close relationship with her stepmother, brother and sister. In 1547, her father died and Elizabeth was finally able to meet her mother. The meeting between mother and daughter after years of separation was very touching. When Anne saw Elizabeth, she could not believe that this beautiful girl was her daughter. First they cried for a long time in each other's arms, and then they sat up all night talking. They had a lot to say to each other. So their meetings became more and more frequent, and Edward allowed his father's second wife to stay with Elizabeth. In 1557 Edward VI began to look for worthy suitors from Protestant countries, for the hand of his sister, and his choice fell on the eldest son of the King of Sweden, Prince Eric. In the king's opinion, this marriage was to strengthen the sympathy of his subjects for him. In 1558, the princess became the wife of the heir to the Swedish crown, and 2 years later they became King and Queen of Sweden. It is said that at their first meeting the prince was so enchanted by her beauty that he lost the power of speech. Their married life was strong and passionate. For her husband Elizabeth became the most important confidante, with whom he discussed many problems. Six children were born in the marriage:
Gustav II of Sweden (1559 - 1605) Not interested in politics and never wanted to be king. Overthrown and killed by conspirators, including his own son Charles. Husband of Maria of Austria. Father of 4 children: Charles IX, Ludwig, Frederick, Elizabeth.
Anne of Sweden (1560 - 1634) Countess of East Friesland. At the age of 18 she married her cousin Enno III. The marriage was a happy one for both spouses. They became the parents of 9 children: Edzard III, Sabina, Agnes, Johann, Gustav, Rudolf, Christina, Sophia, Christian.
Magnus of Sweden(1561 - 1619) In 1582 he married his cousin Mary of England. They had 4 children: Nils, Katharina, Gunilla, Arnold. Magnus was widowed in 1590. And in 1592 he married his mistress Maria Oberg, but before that he received from his elder brother-king and his mother a permission to remarry. From his second wife he had 6 children: Magdalena, Sven, Hokon, Valdemar, Ingeborga, Svante.
Johan of Sweden(1565 - 1630) From childhood Johan was interested in navigation and discoveries. Therefore, he spent most of his life traveling, exploring lands not previously known. He was never married, however he recognized 3 children: Brita, Lars, Eric. And upon his death, he left each child a generous inheritance.
Cecily of Sweden(1567 - 1634) Macgravine of Baden-Rodemachern. In 1583 became the wife of Edward Fortunatus They became the parents of 5 children: Christoph III, Cecily, Elizabeth, Ottilia, Herman. In 1603, her husband died and Cecily was offered remarriage
Virginia of Sweden(1570 - 1606) Duchess of Holstein-Hottorp, wife of Johann Adolf. Virginia was older than her husband by 5 years, but despite this their marriage was happy. They had 7 children: Frederick III, Elisabeth, Conrad, Dorothea, Gedviga, Albrecht and Augusta. The Duchess died of childbirth fever a week after the birth of the last child. After the death of his wife, Johann lived the remaining 10 years until his death as a widower.
In 1568, the queen returned briefly to England for her mother's funeral. In 1577, King Eric XIV of Sweden died, and Elizabeth mourned her husband's death bitterly. But fortunately for Elizabeth, she had her children and grandchildren by her side, who became the meaning of her life. In addition, the Queen Dowager actively influenced the policies of her eldest son, King Gustav II. Gustav, weak-willed and indecisive, was not interested in ruling the state. In fact, the kingdom was ruled by Elizabeth, which did not please her daughter-in-law. Because of this, the two women often conflicted with each other. In March 1603, the Queen Dowager of Sweden died. She was buried in Uppsala Cathedral next to her husband. And 2 years later Gustav II was overthrown and killed. Her grandson Charles became the next king of Sweden.

essentially benedictine abbess hilticoma trying to navigate spiritual and political turmoil during the transition into the greorian period and territorial disputes between nobles. themes around therianthropy, animal bridegrooms, christianity vs. nature, freedom and lesbianism. just my indulgent story using my historical/art history knowledge. more a fantastical telling of history than accuracy (obviously but making it clear)
hilticoma - abbess, 45 yrs old, she/her, second daughter of a lower nobility family. elected after pervious abbess fell ill. inheriting position while the monastery is in an unsteady condition.
tófa - nun who is at the monastery, 38, she/her, loves hilticoma (:
hilticoma is very repressed because neighboring lords are already undermining the abbey and her authority so shes trying hard to avoid her attraction to women

The scorpion and the moon
Tumblr media
Dearest, I signed up for a Friday the 13th (9/13/24-flash sale tattoo with my regular artist). Felt around on their flash for what sang to me and there was a little scorpion holding a crescent moon and star. My mom is a Scorpio and I've been trying in my own ways to smooth over the challenging aspects of our relating that has gotten courser over the years through my healing process ( and no doubt her unspoken gilt and shame). He, my artist booked me out a few days after the 13th and it fell on the day before the full moon. The timing was perfect though not on the 13th. I was his last appointment for the day and we spent my session catching up and talking about Preacher ( the show), mutual acquaintances, life, movies etc.
About a week before that I had listened to the diary of a ceo podcast with Andrew Huberman, and in it Andrew talked about how much relationships were such a big part of his life. In the talk he says he texts certain people ( not family) every morning. And that those morning texts between he and his friends are such important aspects of his life. IMO: Connection is becoming harder to navigate in this modern world because it is full of false alarm distractions/ exploitations. I have since started to text my mom every morning. Just a "Have a good day, or hi, hello", etc. I noticed she always responds in a way that I sense makes her feel cared for. I'd been sharing with her a lot about my Jung animus studies when I see her, which has also been with more consistency as of late.
A few years ago when my mom went on a short stint of leaving her Christianity to discover new age spirituality, she got her reiki certification and had begun to search outside of a religion. One time we went to a metaphysical shop and we both got tarot readings from a gifted psychic. When it came time to get my reading the psychic asked my mom to give us some privacy. She then relayed to me in a question, that there was something in the relationship with my mother that had greatly affected me and was more or less containing/ holding me back? I had never considered this before. I was blindsided and confused. Over the next couple of years I would delve deep into my unconscious ( Scorpio territory) and I would see, especially recently that I inherited so much from my mother's unconscious ( NO DIVING, as the sign says). As I continue to excavate the depths, what I see specifically now in this timing is how much my thoughts, feelings, sensations, and emotions were just copied and pasted over to my blueprint. Once you see it, you SEE IT.
This full moon eclipse for me is the culmination of all I have seen and felt that is not mine. There is a lot to leave behind ( not in abandonment) but in recognition that it is not mine. It is not me and I don't need to do something with it ( like remove it, fight it, condemn it). I find it hysterical that I took this pic to show someone my tattoo and it had the 'no diving 'sign in the background bc I was reading by the pool. It brings me back to so many childhood memories of growing up in El Paso near the mountains and all the run- ins I'd had with scorpions. 🦂 Never did get stung, but specifically one memory we went swimming at a family friend's and there was an alive scorpion just chilling at the bottom of the pool! They are always diving!
The great reckoning is going "OH! This beautiful substance ( in my metaphor a scorpion) that is within the scorpionic symbol- is indeed poison in one state and especially when it is retaliatory. It's other function(s) is/are heavy ( dangerous, of great pressure) exploration, adaptability, deep knowing, courage, power, resiliency and of course transformation."
A medicine. A magical alchemical process.
I find when my mom and I get together I am telling her a lot about the animus lately ( very virgo/ pisces axis) I see her intrigued and guarded.
This little tattoo is literally a symbol that I hold the rights to my self empowerment, which I am ironically just realizing that is what most of my tattoo's symbolize. It's still pleasing to me to think, "remember that one time I had no idea I was letting all of these attachments run my unconscious beliefs?!".
And how just this year an intentional mastery of said thoughts, feeling sensations, and emotions would be my focus.
CHEERS to all the scorpions out there, you continue to be one of my most beloved teachers and guides. And my South node in ♏️ 🥂

When the Gates of Heaven Have No Locks: A Humble Christian's Musings on Papal Wisdom
Ah, Pope Francis—the gift that keeps on giving. Just when I thought I'd caught up with the latest episodes of "How to Challenge Traditional Doctrine in 10 Easy Steps," our beloved pontiff drops another gem. This time, he's taken a bold stand against those pesky southern border controls, calling attempts to close them "madness." Well, who needs national security when you have divine intervention, right?
I must admit, I'm thoroughly enlightened by the idea that borders are so last millennium. After all, if the gates of heaven are open to all, why shouldn't our national borders follow suit? I'm sure the Vatican will be the first to tear down its walls and open its lavish halls to anyone with a backpack and a dream. Oh wait, that's not happening? Color me surprised.
But let's not stop at borders. Pope Francis has graciously informed us that "every religion is a way to arrive at God." Fantastic news! So, all those centuries of theological debates and councils were just one big misunderstanding. Who knew that the narrow path Jesus spoke of was actually a six-lane highway with multiple exits and a food court?
It's heartwarming to see the Pope promoting unity by effectively telling us that exclusivity is overrated. Why bother adhering to specific doctrines when all roads lead to the same destination? It's like being on a spiritual road trip where every wrong turn still gets you to Disneyland.
Now, some might argue that this dilutes the core message of Christianity. But let's be honest, clarity is overrated. Ambiguity adds that zest of adventure to faith, doesn't it? Plus, it gives us more time to focus on pressing issues like debating the morality of razor wire at borders. Because nothing says "love thy neighbor" like leaving your front door wide open in a rough neighborhood.
Speaking of love and acceptance, I'm eagerly awaiting the Pope's endorsement of blessing literally anything that moves. He reportedly questioned why we would bless corrupt businessmen but hesitate to bless same-sex unions. A fair point—why have standards at all? Let's just have a universal blessing day. Bring your pets, your houseplants, maybe that toaster that's on the fritz. Let's spread that holiness around like butter on warm toast.
In all seriousness, it's a challenging time to be a traditional Christian. When the spiritual leader of your faith seems keen on rewriting the playbook, it does make one ponder. Perhaps I'm old-fashioned, clinging to the red letters in my Bible like they're actually important. Silly me.
But hey, who am I to question the direction in which the winds of modern doctrine blow? I'm just a humble believer trying to navigate the increasingly choppy waters of contemporary theology. Maybe next week, we'll learn that sin is just a social construct and that confessionals are being converted into fair trade coffee shops.
Until then, I'll be here, re-reading the Sermon on the Mount and wondering if there's an updated version I missed—perhaps something along the lines of "Blessed are the indifferent, for they shall inherit whatever's left."
Disclaimer: This post is saturated with sarcasm and a dash of exasperation. It's penned by a Christian who deeply respects the papal office but is, shall we say, perplexed by recent developments. If you've found any of this offensive, please take a moment to reflect on whether open dialogue is still a valued component of our faith.

Egyptians & Early Sea Navigation
As regards early attempts at navigation, we must go back, for certain information, to the Egyptians. The expedition of the Argonauts, if not a fable, was an attempt at navigation by simple boatmen, who, in the infancy of the art, drew their little craft safely on shore every night of their coasting voyages. We learn from the Greek writers themselves, that that nation was in ignorance of navigation compared with the Phenicians, and the latter certainly acquired the art from the Egyptians.
We know that naval battles, that is, battles between bodies of men in ships, took place thousands of years before the Christian era. On the walls of very ancient Egyptian tombs are depicted such events, apparently accompanied with much slaughter.
History positively mentions prisoners, under the name of Tokhari, who were vanquished by the Egyptians in a naval battle fought by Rameses III, in the fifteenth century before our era. These Tokhari were thought to be Kelts, and to come from the West. According to some they were navigators who had inherited their skill from their ancestors of the lost Continent, Atlantis.

Comprehending the Variances Between Ancestral and Inherited Property in India
Introduction
In India, property ownership and inheritance are complex matters, often entwined with cultural and legal intricacies. Understanding the distinction between ancestral and inherited property sale in Chennai is crucial for individuals navigating the inheritance process. In this article, we'll explore the key differences between ancestral and inherited property in India.
Ancestral Property
Definition: Ancestral property, also known as coparcenary property, refers to property that has been passed down through generations and is held jointly by the descendants of a common ancestor.
Hindu Succession Act: Ancestral property is primarily governed by the Hindu Succession Act, 1956, which applies to Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Sikhs. Under this act, ancestral property is considered to be the property inherited from one's paternal ancestors for up to three generations.
Coparcenary Rights:Coparcenary Rights: In ancestral property, only the male descendants have coparcenary rights, which means they have an equal share in the property and can demand a partition, leading to a division of the property. The rights of female descendants were limited until the amendment of the Hindu Succession Act in 2005, which gave daughters equal rights in ancestral property. Whether you are looking to buy and sell property in Chennai or dealing with inheritance matters, understanding these legal nuances is crucial for making informed decisions regarding property rights and ownership.
No Will Required: Ancestral property does not require a will for succession. It passes down automatically to the next generation in the family tree.
Inherited Property
Definition: Inherited property is any property that an individual receives through a will or as a legal heir under the laws of succession.
Applicable Laws: Inherited property is governed by various personal laws and inheritance laws, depending on an individual's religion. For instance, Hindus, Muslims, Christians, and other communities have different sets of laws that dictate the inheritance of property.
Testamentary and Intestate Succession: Inherited property can be acquired through a will (testamentary succession) or when an individual passes away without leaving a will (intestate succession). In the latter case, the property is distributed according to the applicable personal laws.
No Coparcenary Rights: In inherited property, the concept of coparcenary does not apply. Instead, property rights are determined by the specific laws or will left by the deceased.
Key Differences
Nature of Property: Ancestral property is typically coparcenary and passed down through generations, while inherited property can be acquired through various means, including wills and intestate succession.
Succession Rights: In ancestral property, coparceners have certain rights and can demand a partition, whereas inherited property follows the laws or will left by the deceased.
Gender Equality: Ancestral property, as of the 2005 amendment to the Hindu Succession Act, provides equal rights to male and female descendants. In contrast, inherited property may have varying rules depending on personal laws.
Will Requirement: Ancestral property does not require a will for succession, whereas inherited property can be acquired through a valid will left by the deceased.
Conclusion Understanding the differences between ancestral and inherited property in India is essential, as it has legal, financial, and familial implications. Whether you are a potential heir or an individual planning your estate, being aware of the nature of the property and the applicable laws can help ensure a smooth transition of assets and property in accordance with your wishes or the legal provisions. It is advisable to seek legal counsel to navigate the complexities of property inheritance in India. Moreover, if you are looking to sell and rent your properties in Chennai, understanding these distinctions can be valuable when dealing with real estate transactions in the city.
