PAT 6691 at Grant Street Station, Pittsburgh PA
Photo by George W. Hamlin. Built for Southern Pacific, rebuilt by GE in Hornell, operated by Wellsville, Addison & Galeton, then rebuilt again and sent to Pittsburgh for PATrain, then sent to CDOT in 1990 for Shore Line East, sent to storage on the Naugatuck Railroad sometime around 1999... Gunntown Cemetery in Naugatuck, CT. Went there with my friend a few months back and took these. It’s a nice little spooky place. People left offerings at the entrance of the cemetery for whatever reason (maybe for the ghosts?) so my friend decided to leave behind an offering of his own, which is the bright orange guitar pick in the last picture.

93J Panco por Billy Hager Por Flickr: The second of yesterdays oddball heritage 2-fer around Williamson. 93J came east from Kenova with a single light Wabash heritage unit, picked up MOW flats, then took the train to Panco and shoved in the siding. Here they are westbound between Naugatuck and Panco. The track they are shoving the train in is in the foreground, the former “Middle Panco” CPL signal was in this stretch before it was removed during a round of signal cutovers.

The Quiripi language
Quiripi is an Algonquian language once spoken in Long Island and Connecticut, including the territory where Yale sits today.
Its last speakers died in the early 1900s, and the language was never well documented. We have only a few poorly transcribed word lists, so we know little about its grammar except what we can guess from closely related Algonquian languages.
It was spoken by the Quinnipiac, Unquachog, Mattabessett, Podunk, Tunxis, and Paugussett (including Naugatuck, Potatuck, Weantinock) groups in the area.
