keeeyframes name analysis time:p tune in folks
Elio is originally Italian, meaning sun and deriving from the latin word Helius and that’s taken from the name of the greek god of the sun, Helios. It’s also said to be another form of Aelius, a roman family name that’s derived from Helios. It’s worth also noting that the family name Aelius is from Hadrian Aelius, one of the five good emperors of Rome. He was known for bringing peace, prosperity, and stability during his rule.
Percy explains this in the extra fries moment but Elio and all his siblings are named after celestial bodies.
ELIO: Mm. It's Hina, Hoku, me, Cael and Lyra.
ELIO: And thennnn, Cass is our littlest sister.
PERCY: They're named after heavenly bodies, like a big boxed set.
ELIO: Hah, okay. Hina's from mahina, and the Hoku's- or, well, hōkū means star. They were gonna name me La, for the sun, but they switched it to Elio.
PERCY: Cael, Lyra, and Cass are all named after constellations.
I won't go too much into his siblings names obviously, but if anyone's curious; Mahina is the goddess of the moon in Hawalian mythology, Hoku means star as stated, Cael's name is from the constellation Caelum, Lyra's from the constellation Lyra, and Cass's name (presumably) is after Cassiopeia.
Now, Elio mentioned his parents almost named him La. Like Elio said La means sun in Hawaiian, but it also means day in Hawaiian. There isn't much to go into here but either way Elio was always going to be named after the sun.
Elio’s name is pretty straightforward, meaning sun. The sun is inherently selfless. The sun gives earth warmth and light, it gives the earth light. Elio himself is selfless. He isn’t completely selfless, of course, that’s expected, but he is inherently kind. During the festival he’s fine with not doing something he’s excited about to make others happy. Elio is very much filled with life and vitality like the sun. During solo events with the other boys they are relatively more mellow than when they’re with him.
Kealoha as a whole means the loved one, or beloved. Ke meaning 'the' in Hawaiian and 'aloha' being the word for love. It might be worth mentioning that 'loha' is also a word in Hawaiian that means wilting or drooping, spiritless, and inferior.
Perseus is derived from the greek word 'pertho' meaning to destroy. Perseus is a prominent figure in greek mythology. He was born to Zeus and Danaë, but it was prophecised by an oracle that he would kill his grandfather and Perseus and his mother were banished to an island. I do think there's something to be said about the comparison of Percy being born in Japan and later moving to Hawaii, an island, with his father. The name Percy by itself comes from old french, meaning to pierce, break through.
In Tozaki, the first kanji is '戸' which means door. The second kanji is '崎' which means promontory, cape, or spit. Promontories are an area of lifted land in a body of water. Commonly they were used to build castles of forts on. His last name doesn't give me a lot to work with, but I do think there's something about a fort on a promontory being surrounded by water and trapping you to some extent and Percy's seeming need to be moving or doing something at all times. Whether it's something small about needing to get out of the study room in the study moment or something big like moving from Japan, to Hawail, to New york. The door meaning in the first kanji could also be a metaphor for Percy’s closed off avoidant nature.
Jamie started as a diminutive from James and sometimes Jacob, though I don't think that's the case with Jamie's name. I think if his name was James or Jacob, he would just go by that. Despite this, Jamie doesn't really have a meaning on it's own so I'll be examining the meanings James and Jacob, though they overlap a lot in meaning.
Jacob and James both mean holder of the heel or supplanter. A supplanter is someone who takes the place of another, usually steathily; for example, usurping a throne. Now, I do think this can relate to Jamie due to him being an international student. How he doesn't take the place of another, but he does move to the college and it's clear from his demeanor that he would rather have a quiet college experience. In the study event he even hides in a stall at the craft to get away from his groupies.
Porter has two meanings. It can be derived from both french words portier and porteour. Portier means doorkeeper or gatekeeper. Porteour means to carry. I'm going to be focusing more on the meaning from portier. Gatekeeping is the act of restricting something, or someone from a community. Jamie obviously isn't an open person. He's very impersonal around strangers who know who he is. In the game when MC is unaware of who Jamie is, Jamie is arguably more himself than he is after he's aware they know. It’s perfectly reasonable for him to be rude to the people around campus that talk about him the way they do, but he isn’t. He doesn’t want to show them any part of himself. Looking at his interactions with them he isn’t nice, only cordial. This could be seen as Jamie gatekeeping himself from other people.

A New Home Ch. 17
Various! Splatoon Manga x Skilled! Isekai'd! Reader
Wc: 1.8k
Back to the start! Previous Next
Tumblr media
It’s toe-to-toe, and the both of you are fighting for first place. This final lap decides the winner. You’re a second behind Mask for most of the third lap, and it’s not looking good on your end. You’re nearly done the race, but you managed to pick up an item. A green shell. Well, it’s not the worst. Now you just have to snipe him just right. You wait until the last second of the race, where it’s a straight stretch. You’ve got one chance.
‘Let go…now!’
You hear Mask cry out in shock, and the sound of the winning theme play.
“YES!” your arms shoot up, one hand still holding the controller. That was the closest you’ve ever been to an opponent. You usually managed to beat Leo, only giving him the win if you didn’t feel like going all out.
You give Mask a closed-eyed smile, and he squints his eyes at you and looks away in annoyance. It’s light-hearted though, you can only tell because you can barely see the way his cheeks move up under his mask.
You put the controller down, content with how you played.
“Ya’ll want some drinks? I’m goin’ downstairs to grab some snacks.”
Aloha’s holding the door handle, ready to make his way into the party.
Mask wants an energy drink, Skull asks for soda, and Army goes on a short rant about how much sugar is in both of those drinks and how bad they are for them. Just about what you’d expect. You ask if you can get a bottle of inkling-safe water, and Aloha goes downstairs.
You get up from your seat, sitting back beside Skull. You’re about to pull out your phone to not make things weird, but after shuffling through his pockets, Skull silently offers you something.
It’s a lollipop.
You giggle at how serious he looks, and take it with a small ‘thanks’.
He nods, then waits a moment before explaining himself.
“...Not a lot of people can beat Mask. You’re pretty skilled, not only at ranked and turf, it seems.”
Right, back to that. Always back to how you battle. Army notices the slight annoyance written across your face that nobody else could have spotted. He must have done research on how to recognize emotions like that.
“Have you completed the volumes you checked out at the library?”
“The…carp. I forgot about those. I didn’t even end up going back to the library after hanging out at that cafe with Skull.”
“Yoooou hung out with Skuuull? Didn’t know you two were clooose.”
Mask seems irritated, but you can’t quite tell why. In the manga it was stated that the S4 don’t necessarily get along, they’re just there to be strong teammates, so maybe that’s what it is.
“Nah, it was pure coincidence. It was my first time meeting him.”
Skull nods to back up your statement by nodding in agreement. Aloha walks in and gives everyone their drinks and begins to chug his glass of punch. Mask turns towards the tv, away from the rest of the group, to lift up his gasmask and drink his energy drink.
“Yeah, they gave me their ice cream.”
Aloha quickly turns his head towards Skull,
“Who did? D’I miss somethin’? Have you two hung out before?”
You caught the way Army and Mask both turned their heads just as quickly as Aloha did. This is definitely getting out of hand. You sigh at Skull for being such an airhead, and try to clear things up, talking about what happened, leaving out the part where Aviator joined you guys.
“I dunnooo dude, seems kinda like a date to me~”
“ ‘Loha we literally just met.”
“I’m just buggin’! You guys ready to actually party now or what?”
Mask groans at that, but he knew it was inevitable. He must have made a deal with Aloha earlier or something. Army quickly scribbles something down in his manual, presumably finishing up. Skull sits up and makes his way toward the door. You follow along, taking a deep breath in and out, preparing yourself for the overwhelmingly loud music and bright lights.
You stick next to Aloha for the most part, and you can tell he’s a natural at parties. He looks like he’s right at home, the way he so smoothly dances through the crowd, and makes up short but fun conversations with the guests. You feel much more comfortable following behind him, not only because he’s the perfect party guy, but you also have some of the scariest players in Inkopolis following you around, giving anyone a glare if they seem like they’re about to approach you.
Army’s quickly caught on that you don’t enjoy talking about your battling skills, and what else is expected to be spoken about at a party only involving strong players?
Mask is struggling with the way he feels about you, all he knows is that he likes hanging out with you. Which is really weird for him, but he knows that you don’t treat him like this godly idol like some others do.
It’s also rare for people to treat Skull like a normal person, given that he’s the biggest and strongest S4 member. Usually, people tend to outright avoid him. Maybe it’s his resting mean face. He’s not really trying to separate the crowd, really, he’s just big. And scary. And might have a slight RBF.
Aloha isn’t trying to divert the crowd, it’s actually quite the opposite, people always crowding him and wanting to talk to him. But he makes sure to look back often, still worried about how you’re doing with all the people, and lights, and sounds, and heat- you get it. Parties can get really overwhelming, and he’s already seen how good you are in this place.
You make it to the main room again, and you’re quick to run off after spotting an inkling wearing glasses and spiky hair. You hug him right away, seeing Tasha and Leo standing right next to him.
“Where have you been? We couldn’t find you for the longest time!”
“I went upstairs to find somewhere to hide from the crowd, it’s all good now, sorry for making you worry!”
“I’m so sorry about separating from you, I know you don’t like people and this place must be terrible to be alone in for you!-”
You can tell Milo’s about to start ranting, as he does in his big brother mode, but thankfully Tasha sums it up for you.
“We can always leave anytime if you’re uncomfortable, you know.”
You’re glad you have such awesome teammates. You still felt bad about making them worry, though. You reassure them that you're alright.
"So you don't want to go home?"
"No, no, we can stay here and have fun if you guys are enjoying yourselves." You look over at Leo, who's stuffing his face with chips.
"These your teammates? I underestimated them, but they seem like good people." Aloha jumps into the conversation, liking how well your teammates are treating you. It seems you trust each other, and that makes for a good, strong team.
You see Leo in your peripheral view and see the way he just about dies at the sight of Aloha right in front of him. His idol? Right there?? This must feel like a dream come true to him.
You snicker at him, and turn to Aloha.
"Looks like you have a big fan that wants to meet you, 'Loha." You say, gesturing behind him, at Leo.
He turns his head to greet his fan, and you smile, glad that you could make Leo's day.
You look over at Tasha, and see that standing next to her is Bamboo.
"Oh, hey! The yellow-green team's here?"
She nods, looking over at Tasha, then back to you,
"Everybody but our leader. We are a strong team, after all."
"Speaking of Rider, we haven't seen him in a while." A voice that you can tell is usually quiet does its best to make itself heard over the crowd and music, and you turn your head to see Stealth.
"Oh, hey, sweetheart! I'm sure he's doing alright, he's strong enough to protect himself if he gets into any trouble."
He looks away, still unused to how carefree you seem to be with him compared to others.
“I hope so…”
The rest of the S4, besides Aloha who was just finishing taking selfies with Leo, finally manage to shake off their fans. Mask comes and sort of hides behind you, Army comes to stand to your left side, and Skull to your right.
“Soooo, these are your teeeeamates?”
“Yup, this is the fam. Leo’s quite the gamer, so I think he might be a good opponent for you. We should host a Squid Racer tournament one day.”
The last part was lighthearted, not meant to be taken seriously, but it could be fun if you guys actually tried to set something up.
It was surprisingly quiet between the group, moreso than you would have expected, namely from Milo. Milo speechless? Not a sight you’d thought you’d ever see. But hey, these are their idols, you get it. Tasha, well, she doesn't talk much anyways, but she’s definitely staring at Skull in awe. You and your team are probably the only ones who can tell, because it probably seems like more of a scowl if any outsider were to see it. Skull’s looking back in curiosity, which looks more like a staring contest.
“Man, you guys are so quiet and boring! This isn’t the best time to chit-chat n hang out since it’s so loud and getting late, so how about we all meet up soon?”
You’re still iffy about getting too close to the main characters, but the rest of your team comes to silent agreement before you have the chance to say anything.
“Sure. We can have lunch together on Friday?”
Tasha sounded more stern than she had hoped, but she’s definitely more leader material when it comes to timings than you, so there’s no stopping her.
The S4 check and clear their schedules, and make time for lunch with your team.
You wave goodbye to the S4 and any other acquaintances that are looking at you, before turning towards the door. As soon as Leo gets away from Aloha, he immediately lets his body slump out of exhaustion. It seems he likes to push himself too far at times. Milo picks him up to give him a piggyback ride, and Tasha follows behind the group, to watch out for everyone.

Big long message coming from someone who binged the whole game in two days:
1. Whoever wrote the Abel route deserves to get all the good things in life. His bright and warm personality and natural quirkiness tugged at my heartstrings and I just knew I wanted my MC to stick by him. It's no wonder so many peeps loved his route-- he was super fleshed out and he takes a new spin on the nerd LI archetype. Not to mention, his past with his family is bittersweet, yet it was never used for shock value. It was evident how these experiences affected his character and how he interacts with others, and it never fails to radiate how genuine he is and how much reality was inspired in his making.
(Also that last sex with him was so detailed, raw, passionate, and personal. Everything is scorched on my front lobe and I will nevrr forget it.mE.A. James could never.)
I can feel the good writing for all routes and the whole narrative in general even if I didn't pick them as LIs. The talent of the writing team always oozes, and I can never stop reading. I might retry other routes and I will do that after recovering from the psychic damage I acquired crying and laughing with this story.
2. From what I've read on the net so far, the Mixed Ending was the most well-liked ending, but I beg to digress because I am selfish and delusional and I just want my MC to rest, ok? 😔 I personally favored the successful non-betrayal blood ending.
The consequences of the ending are much more direct than that of the mixed ending and at least it was easier to cope with it because MC still has their support group, but I just really love the closure it provided that my gen!MC (ironic, I know) stayed true to what she wanted, which was to continue the life that was frozen over since the incident. Shadow Ending is honestly the most selfless and poetic ending that gave me crippling depression and I loved its angst. The Mixed Ending was my least favorite because it was the most open-ended one, and I felt unsettled by it because I felt the least secure for my MC's future, esp with their LI. I still have to play through Matthias' route but it's really promising.
3. I can't help but have my curiosity piqued by how everything played out with a similar pattern to how colonisers always end up messing up and undoing the progress of indigenous people's learnings and practices, and their utter disrespect for nature which ultimately blows up in their face but unfortunately, it's those that try to save it that suffer the most. The subtle incorporation of this theme was the perfect piece that really tied together the past of all It Lives book. Loha and Matthias were the perfect characters to resemble this struggle.
What lingers in my mind, however, is that Loha and Matthias, as individuals, are the two sides of the same coin. Both characters have personal strong connections to the Power, have personal gains and goals for it, used, manipulated and forced people to assist them in their cause, and ultimately birthed a person that was meant to be the key to finish their mission.
Though it was true that what Loha did was for the common good vs. Matthias' hedonistic and self-centered purposes, I think Loha is no better than Matthias, (Sorry, guys. I know some of you might fight me.) and I think it is equally hypocritical of Loha to ask MC to lay down her life to heal the breach and feel disappointed when MC doesn't do as she says.
She shared herself how a wisp was so curious of life on Earth that this innocent venture eventually bloomed into all this, so she knew that to an extent, even if the Shadow Ending occurs, it might happen again so long as the Power has free will to choose and explore. Maybe that's why I like the Blood Ending so much, I don't see a point to all the MC's (esp. ILW) suffering so much when they are mortals constantly being tested by a higher power. I think it was best to share the labor for everyone to maintain than just place the burden on one person. (My MC worked her ass off to charm Abel's pants off I simply can't let her down 😔)
4. The team is so resourceful with reusing, mixing, and adding visual assets to the game. Seeing the familiar layout and mechanics such as reusing minor characters really established the familiar Choices foundation of the game, but the impressively added illustrations, wide array of sprite personalization, the unique and diverse character designs, and even the title screens was truly the marks that made this an excellent fanwork. It manages to really immerse the reader and I can never, ever get enough of it.
5. In relation to 4, the programming of the game is superb. There is sensible weight and effects to choices, LIs are equally balanced and don't overpower the narrative, the godsent SAVES, the carefully considered rewards and consequences of all decisions and just everything about the system has made me question all that Choices has done since forever. How can a nonprofit fan team make such a complex system with such delicacy and thought that a multimillion dollar company simply cannot? You raised the bar higher for what interactive stories should look like. THIS is how interactive stories should be, and thanks to the user-friendly programming, the replay value is very high.
These are all I can say off the top of my head and I will always be grateful for this work you've shared to us. This is the most passionate passion project I've had the honor of experiencing, and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Should your endeavors include another interactive story (Painted Devils can't come soon enough, please just take my money!), I will be most eager to take part in it.
Sorry if this was long!
(P.S.: Abel mentioned about having people over with his shirt on. *What's his body count?* 🤭☺️)
Thank you for sending this in and sharing your thoughts!! I'm so glad that the game was so meaningful for you <3

Understanding the Dynamics of Loha Prices in India: A Key to Construction and Industry
Loha, or iron, is a material that has shaped the course of industrialization and modern infrastructure development in India. As a fundamental component used across various sectors—from construction to manufacturing—iron’s price holds a significant place in the country’s economic landscape. Whether it’s the backbone of towering skyscrapers or the skeleton of residential homes, loha price remains indispensable. The fluctuation of loha prices, driven by numerous global and domestic factors, greatly affects the cost of construction and the manufacturing industry, making it crucial for contractors, builders, and industries to keep a close watch on these changes.
Tumblr media
The Impact of Global Factors on Loha Prices
The price of loha is not only a reflection of domestic trends but is also highly influenced by global market conditions. At its core, loha is derived from iron ore, a raw material whose price is directly linked to international demand and supply dynamics. Global markets are heavily shaped by major iron ore producing countries like Brazil and Australia, as well as large-scale consumers like China. Any fluctuation in these regions—whether it's changes in mining operations, production capacity, or shifts in demand—has a ripple effect on loha prices in India.
Domestic Supply and Demand Factors
India’s domestic supply and demand also have a profound impact on the cost of loha. With the Indian government’s ongoing push for infrastructure development and the country’s rapidly growing population, the demand for iron has been consistent and robust. The construction sector, in particular, is a major consumer of loha, relying on it for the production of structural steel, TMT bars, and iron pipes. As urbanization continues and large-scale infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, and residential complexes, gain momentum, the demand for loha surges, which can drive up prices.
On the supply side, India’s ability to produce loha is influenced by the capacity and efficiency of local steel mills and iron ore mines. When there are disruptions in production due to labor shortages, adverse weather conditions, or government regulations affecting mining operations, the supply of loha can be restricted. A reduction in supply, coupled with an increase in demand, naturally causes prices to rise. Conversely, when production is abundant and supply chains run smoothly, loha prices tend to stabilize or decrease.
Government Policies and International Trade
Government policies have a significant bearing on loha prices in India. The introduction of import duties, taxes, or subsidies can either increase or reduce the price of iron. For example, if the government imposes higher import duties on iron ore, it raises the cost of imported raw materials, pushing up domestic prices. On the other hand, policies that support the local iron and steel industry—such as tax breaks or subsidies for steel producers—can lower production costs and thus reduce loha prices.
The Influence of Seasonal and Market Conditions
Seasonal fluctuations are another important factor that affects loha prices. In India, the demand for loha tends to be higher during certain times of the year. The dry season, for example, sees a boom in construction activities, and as builders rush to meet deadlines, the demand for iron products surges. This increased demand during peak construction periods can push up prices. On the other hand, during the monsoon season, when construction activities slow down, the demand for loha may decrease, leading to a potential dip in prices.
The overall economic environment also plays a crucial role. Economic growth or a recession can drastically influence the demand for loha. When the economy is booming, there is typically an increase in infrastructure projects and consumer spending, which drives the demand for iron. However, during periods of economic uncertainty or recession, demand may contract, leading to a stabilization or decrease in prices.
Conclusion
Loha prices are influenced by a myriad of factors, ranging from global iron ore prices to domestic supply and demand dynamics. The impact of government policies, international trade, and seasonal fluctuations also play a significant role in shaping these prices. Understanding these factors can help industries better prepare for price changes and make strategic decisions that minimize costs.

Sarbloh Kara Sikh Kada Kakaar Iron Lines Karha Singh King Loha Dori Bangle F4T
Sarbloh Kara Sikh Kada Kakaar Iron Smooth Karha Singh King Warrior Bangle
Singh is Bling Movie Style Kara
Weight of Kara is approximate 105-170g (Variable depending upon the size of kara) .
Thickness from outer Circumference to Inner Circumference is approx. 9.5mm
Width is approx 11mm - every Kara is Handmade and Unique - therefore thickness may vary.
These kara are from the Holy City of Amritsar (Golden Temple/Darbar Sahib). Size is inner diameter of Kara.
There may be little bit rust, grinding marks or cuts may present which is seen commonly in all SARBLOH KARA due to purity of the metal/wrought iron and these kara are made in a traditional way. These characteristics give kara authentic antique look as it was in Guru Sahib's time.
A kara ਕੜਾ کڑا कड़ा KADA, is a steel or iron (sarb loh) Bracelet, worn by all initiated Sikhs.
It is one of the five kakars or 5Ks — external articles of faith — that identify a Sikh as dedicated to their religious order. The kara was instituted by the tenth Sikh Guru Gobind Singh at the Baisakhi Amrit Sanskarn in 1699. Guru Gobind Singh Ji explained: He does not recognise anyone else except me, not even the bestowal of charities, performance of merciful acts, austerities and restraint on pilgrim-stations; the perfect light of the Lord illuminates his heart, then consider him as the immaculate Khalsa. The kara is to constantly remind the Sikh disciple to do God's work, a constant reminder of the Sikh's mission on this earth and that he or she must carry out righteous and true deeds and actions, keeping with the advice given by the Guru. The Kara is a symbol of unbreakable attachment and commitment to God. It is in the shape of a circle which has no beginning and no end, like the eternal nature of God. It is also a symbol of the Sikh brotherhood. As the Sikhs' holy text, the Guru Granth Sahib Ji says, "In the tenth month, you were made into a human being, O my merchant friend, and you were given your allotted time to perform good deeds." Similarly, Bhagat Kabir reminds the Sikh to always keep one's consciousness with God: "With your hands and feet, do all your work, but let your consciousness remain with the Immaculate Lord." The basic kara is a simple unadorned steel bracelet, but other forms exist. It was historically used like a Knuckle-duster for hand-to-hand combat. Battlefield variations include kara with spikes or sharp edges. Sikh soldiers of the British Indian army would settle disputes by competing in a form of boxing known as loh-musti (lit. iron fist) with a kara on one hand. Brilliant finish and very decorative. Ideal gift item for loved ones on all occasions.
P.S. Colour of item may slightly vary due to camera flash and light condition.
P.S. Colour of item may slightly vary due to camera flash and light conditions. Some Kara may have negligible small black grinding mark on the kara joint. This is always seen on all kara as most of the Kara making/shaping work is done by hands. However, this do not affect the quality/look of Kara.
