Rainbow cloud over Central Texas! This is called cloud iridescence, where the sunlight reflects off the ice crystals along the edge of a rising thunderstorm.

Headcannon that the unusual OP children of the gods represent a rare natural phenomenon that happens in their domain.
Like Thalia being represented by a blue jet, an insanely powerful and very rare lightning strike.

Or Jason being a red sprite. (Which looks epic and diabolical as heck)

Oh, will? He's a fucking crepuscular ray, which is those stream of heavenly ass lights you see from between the clouds.

Percy is a goddam bloodfall.
It's when tiny non-crystalline nanospheres rich in iron, silica, calcium, aluminum, etc. Blood Falls seeps from the end of the Taylor Glacier into Lake Bonney. Scientists believe a buried saltwater reservoir is partly responsible for the discoloration, which is a form of reduced iron.
So basically oxidation.

"Crown Shyness" is a natural phenomenon observed in some tree species, where the upper branches of the crowns avoid touching each other. The visual effect is stunning, forming clearly defined boundaries that look like cracks or rivers in the sky when viewed from below.
This intriguing behavior was first documented in the 1920s, and since then, several hypotheses have been put forward to explain it. Some theories suggest that "Crown Shyness" helps limit the spread of harmful insects among trees. Another hypothesis is that trees avoid contact to protect their branches from cracks and breaks caused by the wind. It is also proposed that this phenomenon allows trees to maximize exposure to light from the wind. It is also proposed that this phenomenon allows trees to maximize exposure to sunlight, optimizing photosynthesis and thus benefiting leaf growth.
Although several theories have been suggested, scientists have not yet reached a consensus on the exact cause of this phenomenon. "Cup Shyness" continues to be an active field of research, offering a fascinating example of the complexity and beauty of nature. This phenomenon reminds us how nature is full of mysteries and elegant solutions that reveal the harmony underlying natural ecosystems.

The formation of ‘ice flowers’ is a beautiful natural phenomenon in the Great Lakes region of North America!! When the temperature drops under freezing temperatures, the non-frozen water under the ice layer is pushed upward, creating small cracks. Then, as very little water flows through these cracks and almost immediately freezes, very thin ice layers of irregular shapes are formed. As they accumulate, they create fantastic geometric shapes. Mother Nature’s art is amazing!
