The Summer Gods Tour: Third Eye Blind, Yellowcard & A R I Z O N A
In January 2024, Third Eye Blind revealed on their Instagram that they're embarking on another Summer Gods Tour with Yellowcard & A R I Z O N A. They've 35 dates lined up and have been rocking the stage since June 8th, kicking off an unforgettable tour. On the show's day, I was excited as I drove up to the venue. In the parking lot, fans were pre-gaming before the show, playing beer pong, dancing, and having a great time. We went down to the pit after getting checked in at the gates. It was challenging to navigate the limited space and decide whether to stand with the fans or move around. I want to shout out to the other photographers who also were in attendance shooting the show. We worked together as a team to get the job done.
The band Arizona, creatively stylized as A R I Z O N A, hails from the unexpected location of New Jersey despite its desert-inspired name. This talented trio comprises Zachary Charles, Nathan Esquite, and David Labuguen. Their music blends American pop-rock and electropop, reflecting a distinct and captivating sound. Signed to Atlantic Records, their debut studio album, Gallery, was unveiled on May 19, 2017, climbing to an impressive No. 4 on Top Heatseekers. I'd go see this band again. They're not my usual style, but I liked the vibes and tunes they were playing. During their set, they played 10 songs from their discography, including their number-one hit on Spotify, "Oceans Away", “Summer Days” & “Freaking Out”.
Yellowcard is a rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed in 1997. The band has released ten albums to date. In August 2023, Yellowcard began a nationwide tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their album Ocean Avenue. Whether they are headlining or supporting another act, take a moment to listen to them if you haven't already. If you're a fan of Yellowcard, you can check out our coverage from their last tour here. Also, the band collaborated with the group Hammock to release a new album in 2024 called A Hopeful Sign. I couldn't miss seeing Yellowcard on this lineup, especially after catching them at their 20 Years Of Ocean Avenue show. The energy these guys bring is incredible. Sean Mackin jumping around playing the violin is a sight to behold, you can see the passion on his face as he plays with all his heart. They played various songs, including the new track "Transmission Home," and closed the night with the crowd's favorite, "Ocean Avenue."
Third Eye Blind is an American rock band formed in San Francisco, California, in 1993. The current lineup consists of Stephan Jenkins, Brad Hargreaves, Kryz Reid, Alex LeCavalier, and Colin Creev. Jenkins has noted that The Clash influenced him, Jane's Addiction, and Camper Van Beethoven. The band gained popularity in the 90s with their song "Semi-Charmed Life" and even won a Billboard Music Award in 1997 for Best Modern Rock Track. I was shocked when I received the email saying I was approved to take photos. I did not expect a band this large to have such a lenient photo policy. We were able to capture their entire set, which was very exciting. The band started by staying together at the back of the stage, and once the show started, they slowly came out to the front with a blast of energy. Throughout the night, they played a total of 18 songs, including “The Kids Are Coming (To Take You Down)”, “Shipboard Cook”, and the classic “Semi-Charmed Life”. Drummer Brad Hargreaves had an amazing drum solo after playing the song “Jumper”. I'll see Third Eye Blind again. Their setlist has a great mix of high-energy songs and intimate acoustic performances, creating a fantastic show atmosphere.

Nathan
Let's say he's escaping a creepo while in drag
"Wait, why--MMPH!"
If Wes had a dollar for every time he was pulled into a kiss with a pretty so-and-so, he'd be rich! And, he was rich, but probably not off getting kissed.
It was all he could do to keep his hat on as he was suddenly lip locked by his favorite performer lately, trying to follow the lead of making this look real natural for him. It's not long before he figures out where to put his hands, settling one on Nathan's back, the other on his hip, keeping the kiss just to lips unless the shifter had a different idea!
The creep that had been eyeing Nathan could see Wes and Nathan's mackin', and seemed to lose interest, backing off but still sticking around.

Seeking Shield glory, Western Australia cast aside white-ball specialists
BOLD CALLS
Nathan Coulter-Nile (centre) could be headed to Victoria. © Getty
Australian internationals, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Andrew Tye, have been dropped from Western Australian state contract lists for the upcoming 2020-21 season. The Perth-based domestic giants are seeking an end to their 21-year old title drought in the red-ball format of the game and have since handed contracts to players who are expected to feature in this season’s Sheffield Shield, the premier four-day domestic competition in Australia.
With Coulter-Nile looking ahead to limiting himself to the white-ball formats of the game, the move to cut the Australian bowling all-rounder from the contract list provides the 32-year year old a chance to eye a place in Victoria’s white-ball squad – having already acclimatized to Melbourne through his association with the Stars in the Big Bash League (BBL).
Coulter-Nile is expected to be joined by Simon Mackin – the right-arm fast-medium bowler, who too was dropped from the contract list, as they look for fresh beginnings in Victoria. Tye though has decided to stay put in Western Australia – having been told that he remains in the team’s plans in the shorter formats of the game. He’s hoping to earn a contract upgrade through appearances.
Western Australia clinched the Marsh Cup – the 50-over domestic title last season, but their Sheffield Shield campaign fell away rather dramatically in the second half of the tournament, sliding from second in the table to eventually finishing second last – 20 points adrift of champions, New South Wales.
Injuries to key bowling personnel took a heavy toll on the team’s chances and the management has managed to lure 31-year old Cameron Gannon from Queensland ahead of this season’s tournament. Gannon claimed 38 wickets last season and was comfortably the leading wicket-taker – five more than fellow Queensland pacer, Michael Neser.
In a further boost, pacers Jason Behrendorff and Cameron Green, are well placed to be fully fit ahead of this season’s campaign, while Lance Morris has been offered a senior contract, thus giving a healthy look to their pace bowling depth.
Giving more quality to the bowling attack will be Liam O ‘Connor – who has been upgraded from a rookie contract to a full contract this season. The leg-spinner had impressed with a five-wicket haul on Sheffield Shield debut last year and turned out strong performances in the 2019-20 Alcohol. Think Again Premier Cricket season.
Talented spinner, Corey Rocchicciol, has been awarded a rookie contract and he joins all-rounder, Bradley Hope and left-handed batsman, Sam Fanning, who both retained their contracts for the upcoming season. Ashton Agar, Jhye Richardson and MItchell Marsh, three WA players with national contracts, aren’t expected to feature a lot in this season’s campaign.
Head coach, Adam Voges, was thrilled with the latest set of contracted players and believes that an excellent foundation has been laid for the team to try and end their Sheffield Shield title drought.
“We identified at the end of last season that our bowling depth in Shield cricket and our spin stocks needed a boost and we’re really pleased with our new additions to the squad,” he said.
“It’s exciting to have Cam (Gannon) come across to the West. He had a terrific season in red ball cricket being the leading wicket taker in Sheffield Shield cricket and will bring experience and leadership to our young bowling group.
“A number of our young players gained playing experience last season and this will build our depth, which means competition for spots will be strong, particularly when we are at full strength. We were strong in the Marsh Cup last year and will be looking to start the season well in 50-over cricket.
“Our focus, no doubt, will be to improve our Sheffield Shield results, we were disappointing at the back end of last season and will be looking to rectify that this year,” the former Australian batsman added.
Western Australia contract list
National contract– Ashton Agar, Mitch Marsh, Jhye Richardson
State contract – Cameron Bancroft, Jason Behrendorff, Jake Carder, Hilton Cartwright, Cameron Gannon, Cameron Green, Liam Guthrie, Aaron Hardie, Josh Inglis, Matthew Kelly, Shaun Marsh, David Moody, Lance Morris, Liam O’Connor, Joel Paris, Josh Philippe, D’Arcy Short, Marcus Stoinis, Ashton Turner, Sam Whiteman
Rookie contract – Sam Fanning, Bradley Hope, Corey Rocchiccioli

ICT battle past toothless Falkirk
George Oakley’s goal was enough for Inverness to beat Falkirk on the opening day of the Scottish Championship season.
Tom Walsh seared down the left, leaving two defenders in his wake, before firing the ball across the six-yard box.
And as the home defence dithered Oakley nipped in to fire home.
Falkirk had lots of possession but rarely threatened the Caley Thistle goal, however the home crowd were enraged when referee Steven MacLean disallowed what would have been an equaliser.
Andy Irving, signed on loan from Hearts in midweek, floated in a free kick that was nodded in by Scott Harrison. But as celebrations ensued, MacLean ruled out the goal for a Falkirk infringement in the box.
Nathan Austin came close to a second for Inverness, while Falkirk’s lack of ruthlessness proved costly.

Seeking Shield glory, Western Australia cast aside white-ball specialists
BOLD CALLS
