Make No Mistake (I’ll Break You Down)
@red-balloon12 @nwtbobsessedemo @colourfulmes @aspiderfrogjack Fandom: Youtuber Egos
Trigger Warnings (if any): Character goes through a lot of pain, angst ----------------------------------------
No mortal had ever escaped one of Phantom’s deals before, and he held this in high regard. He prided himself on that fact, and he was sure that no mortal would ever succeed in evading him.
He was looking over the newest contract he made with someone. A young man had sold his soul for fame, and didn’t specify any more that he wanted. Just fame. That was one of Phantom’s favorite types of contracts; ones where the unfortunate people that made them never thought to specify exactly what they wanted, so that he couldn’t find a loophole and give them only a fraction of what they really wanted.
Suddenly, this horrible feeling came over him, washing over him like a tidal wave of energy. Phantom flinched, and looked around his office. Perhaps someone was there?
“Who’s there?” He called out as he looked around, his left hand moving to the cane that was against his desk. “Come out now, and nothing bad will happen to you.”
That was, if anyone was here anyway. His mind was quickly preoccupied with another thought: What was that feeling? He had never felt anything like that before. It was like something had broken, like a chain snapped deep in his soul.
Nothing happened, and nobody revealed their presence. Phantom sighed. It wasn’t normal for him to be this on edge. Whatever that feeling was, it had… done something to him. What it did, he did not know, but he would find out.
Phantom set the contract he was looking over aside, putting it in a drawer in his desk. He’d get back to it later, when he had found out what that mysterious energy was. He stood up, and began to walk towards the door of his office, his cane lightly thumping against the floor.
When he reached nearly halfway between his desk and the door, the energy flooded over him once again. This time it was more powerful, like an electric shock. It caused him to flinch again. Whatever the hell that was, he needed to stop it, and find out what it was, because it was getting stronger every time.
Phantom continued to move towards his office door, and opened it. The demon barely got three steps outside of his office before it happened again. Now, instead of energy mimicking pain, it felt real. It was as if he was burning alive, and excruciating pain was flickering across his body. He bit down on his tongue to keep himself from yelling out, and that only resulted in more pain.
The pain was gone as soon as it came. He got up, looking around once again. Nothing was out of the ordinary, and he looked back at his office to make sure nothing was there. There was nothing, no sign of anyone except himself, so Phantom closed the door.
Phantom had thought of something he dared not to before. It would go against everything that he’s built for himself, and his reputation. What if a mortal had escaped their contract somehow?
He knew it was possible, and he recalled stories of what happened to demons who had a mortal break their deal. But… no mortal could escape him. He was Phantom, no mortal had ever escaped him once before! However, as much as he would’ve loved to rule it out, he couldn’t.
In fact, this did sound similar to what he had heard of what happened to demons who had a contract with a mortal broken by the mortal. Pain, flashes of it, gradually getting worse and worse until death would seem like a mercy.
Fear was what he felt. Phantom did not want to go through that- Not once in his life. But he was. By some horrible twist of fate, a mortal had broken their contract. And now Phantom had to pay the price for his failure.
It was deserved. It was shameful, that a demon of his reputation had allowed a human to escape. He deserved every ounce of pain he got, but he did not want it. Phantom wanted to deny it, to make it so that it would not happen. Even so, he couldn’t. A demon contract was written so that it was final, so that the consequences of breaking it could not be avoided.
Phantom braced himself, sure that another burst of pain would come. However, after a few moments, it didn’t.
Did it stop?
Then, pain. Excruciating, mind breaking, soul destroying pain. Every nerve in his body was on fire, being electrocuted, getting ripped apart. He couldn’t be sure, but he thought he heard a thud of two things, a lighter object and one that sounded like a body. He heard someone screaming, too. Phantom could barely feel, yet he could feel it all. All of it. Every bit of that pain he deserves has come. It kept increasing, and increasing and getting worse and worse and wORSE AND WORSE PLEASE MAKE IT STOP MAKE IT STOP MAKE IT STOP MAKE IT STOP-
Slowly his feelings and senses returned to his body, and he still felt small bursts of pain. They were barely there, though. His breathing was labored, and he picked up his cane from where it was lying on the ground. Phantom felt a liquid dripping down his face, and he looked down. A red splotch was on the floor. His blood. He wiped his nose with his wrist, and saw blood on it.
So to top this horrible night off, now he had a nosebleed. Phantom groaned, and turned back to his office, slightly limping as he walked from the residual pain. He opened the door, and grabbed a towel, pressing it against his nose to stop the bleeding.
He sat down in his chair, pulling out the contract from earlier.
Maybe adding a few more clauses to make sure the mortal never had a chance at escaping wouldn’t hurt… He’d add that to all future contracts, Phantom was sure. He couldn’t go through that again.
He wouldn’t.

Partners, Phantom (NWTB) x Bill Cypher-esque! Reader
I made a fic!!!! First reader-insert, feedback is much appreciated. I made this in a one hour moment of inspiration at 10:30. It has been proofread, but probably not very well. This is based off a Thought I had, so, enjoy!
TW: mentions of murder + a vague description of a dead body. Don’t read if this could trigger you!
Summary: A soul-stealer meets a daemon murderer. What could go wrong?
WC: 1,108
Key: (Y/N): your name. (E/C): eye colour. (E/H/N): eldritch horror name.
Something was wrong. Phantom sat in his office, staring at the empty chair across from him. He hadn’t had a deal in, what, a week now? It was unheard of for him. The bar had its usual customers, sure, but he had no people preforming when they were there. It was bad for business.
The lack of souls was starting to drain him. You can only use so much power with limited resources after all. Phantom was a business man first and foremost, so why he couldn’t get contracts anymore was beyond him. Worse, crime rate was increasing in his city. Mainly murder charges, which was even weirder. Phantom sighed, and stood up from his desk. The show must go on after all.
Somewhere… else.
‘I’ stood up, wiping off ‘my’ face with a handkerchief. Well, not really me, just the poor sod’s body I happened to be inhabiting for the time being. Mortals. They never learn, do they? I chuckled to myself, admiring my handiwork.
“Beautiful, isn’t it? I haven’t done a good old fashioned axe-murder in such a long time.” The man in the corner sobbed, his translucent body unable to touch his wife. “Aw, don’t be like that,” I teased. “You made the deal after all. You let me in.”
“You didn’t say you’d HURT anyone! I wouldn’t have even interacted with you had I’d known, you psychopath!” my host’s spirit screamed, tears still rolling down his face.
A laugh escaped my lips. “I told you there would be a price to pay for the work I do. Helping you get away with stealing the money your customers people trust you with?” I tsked. “That is quite a hefty fee.” Before he could respond, sirens started blaring, quickly approaching our building. “Ahhhh, I guess the Mrs. was a little too loud. What a shame. Well, have fun dealing with the popo.”
“You can’t just leave! I didn’t do this! You did!”
“Oh but darling, I’m leaving right now. Nice doing business with ya.” I slipped out of his body, watching him stumble as he came back into control. This was the best part.
Third Person POV
The police stormed into the room, guns at the ready. “Put the axe down!” The man just stared at the dead body, reportedly his wife’s. “I said, PUT THE AXE DOWN! HANDS BEHIND YOUR HEAD ON YOUR KNEES!” The criminal complied silently, no emotion on his face.
A different officer stepped forward as the murderer was handcuffed. “You are being charged with murder of the first degree. Anything to say for yourself, Mr. Brody?” Chase Brody did not reply. As the officer listed his rights, Chase was practically dragged out of the room. And for just a second, behind all the noise, a faint laugh echoed across the building.
Back to Phantom
“I figured it out!”
Natemare jumped as his brother slammed his hands on his desk. “What, why you’re such a buzzkill? Took you long enough.”
Phantom rolled his eyes. “No, you idiot. The lack of contracts! The murder rates! It’s all connected!”
“Good for you? I thought you were just past your prime.” Natemare shrugged, ignoring the deadly glare Phantom sent his way.
“I think someone summoned a daemon.”
Mare choked on his martini.  (A/N: yes I headcanon that Mare drinks martinis. Shut up.) “What! Your wrong. No one would be stupid enough to summon a daemon Phan.” Phantom opened his mouth to speak, but Natemare cut him off. “This isn’t like one of your contracts! That’s just mortals not reading the fine print like the stupid little apes they are. Daemons take ages of preparation to summon, along with a very complex ritual that would fry most human brains. Nobody, not even a mortal, would summon one.”
Phantom groaned softly, running his hands through his hair. “You got a better idea? I don’t know who summoned one, I just know that it is the only sensible explanation for this.”
“And if it is a daemon? What then?
“I confront it. Don’t give me that look! This thing, whatever it may be, is bad for the bar. My number one priority is to get rid of it as soon as possible. Now leave.” Mare mumbled something under his breath and walked out. Suddenly, the room became warm. Almost unbearably warm. Phantom looked around, eye narrowed. A giggle slipped right by his ear.
“So close Phan! I’m so proud of you for figuring that out. Just missing one piece though.” A figure stepped out of the shadows. (E/C) eyes gleamed mischievously, a crooked grin on its face. “I wasn’t summoned.”
(Y/N) POV
I stared at the soul—stealer in front of me. Easy on the eyes, I thought to myself as he stared, jaw dropped in shock. “Close your mouth darling, we wouldn’t want any flies in there now would we?”
“Wh- who are you?” He stuttered.
“Names (E/H/N), just call me (Y/N). I do apologize for stealing customers, I wasn’t aware of your little establishment here.” A sickly-sweet grin covered my face as he nodded softly to himself.
“Pleasure to meet you (Y/N). May I ask how you arrived on this Plane if not by summoning? Assuming you are a daemon of course.”
“I am! In truth, I simply walked in. The Mortal Plane is so interesting, I just had to check it out. No guards as well, which is odd. Not that I’m complaining.”
Phan stood, crossing the room. I tilted my head as got closer, looking him over with a smirk. In truth, I had started to follow his work when I learned about it. I had gained a small crush on the man, but he didn’t need to know that. Satan knows that soul-stealers had a big enough ego as it is. “I have a proposal,” he finally said after several moments of silence.
I raised my eyebrows. “Oh really? And what would this proposal be?”
Phan smiled softly. “Business partners. I get souls through contracts, you take out those who stand in my way. We split the pay in the end.”
“Sounds wonderful. Where do I sign?” He guided me over to his desk, waving his hand vaguely. As I sat down, the contract appeared, along with a pen. I read carefully, then signed. Phantom signed without even looking it over, and words cannot describe how much I hated him for it. As the paper disappeared, I looked Phan in the eyes, and stuck out my hand. “Looking forward to working with you partner.”
He grinned and took my hand, shaking it. “Likewise, partner.”

I'll die on this hill, because I feel like the only one still talking about it in the scope of the egoverse.
But can we please talk about Phantom? He deserves so much attention-
We have a soul stealing, snowglobe collecting conman, and I'm surprised people aren't into that with how absolutely buck wild other egos are.
Man was rocking skinny jeans at the club while scouting talent, his cane looks top heavy enough to send a bitch to Jesus with same day delivery.
There so many smoke machines in his office I'm pretty sure it's an OSHA violation.
Or whatever the demon equivalent to OSHA is.
Anyways, go listen to Phantom by NateWantsToBattle.

Natelight Headcanons
Tumblr media
Natelight is an angel! :D
He was created thousands of years ago along with his twin brother
He has no brother.
Is a part of the Heavenly Host, the army of Heaven
Extremely kind and caring towards most beings
Loves animals a lot
His favorite animal are bunnies!!
While Natelight seems like he would despise fighting, he is willing to fight if it is required
He doesn’t enjoy harming people though, don’t mistake him for a sadist
Always carries an angel blade with him (like the ones from Supernatural)
They can harm and/or kill pretty much anything
Natelight has wings, but he usually keeps them hidden
They’re white, with some light blue and silver feathers as well
He does have a halo as well
It turns into a gold ring on his hand when he’s with humans
When he uses his powers, his wings and “ring” glow brightly
Natelight finds the existence of demons and sinners sad, in a way
He pities them and often talks to them while they’re dying, telling them about how they could’ve lead a better life (they die by his hands of course, he can’t let the filth stain the world more than it already has)
That’s how it has to be, it was God’s command
Natelight does have a brother, although he often refuses to acknowledge his existence as the thought of him is enough to make Natelight want to cry
His brother is Phantom
One of the angels who fell and became demons
Natelight doesn’t understand how Phantom possibly went down the path he did; they were brothers
And now they were supposed to be sworn enemies
And he can’t handle that
He can’t handle that, he can’t handle what his brother has become or what he has done, and Natelight cannot handle the acts of violence he’s committed himself

I had a very specific Thought so I thought I’d share it with you all. NTWB’s Phantom x a Bill Cypher-like reader, and I know it’s weird but hear me out. Where Phan is chilling in his bar and after a while realizes that his deals are going down and murder charges are going up. He comes across the reader, who makes deals with people, possesses them, then murders others. Them being the unstoppable power couple of the city. Just, that.
EDIT: I made a fic for it! It’s not very good, but, content nonetheless.
