okay so i went down a weird al rabbit hole for a minute, seeing stuff i hadn't seen before (longtime fan) and this cracked me up but also made me feel better about a thing that happened once i was working a receptionist job at this company that had an on-site cafe and coffee stand, and one time i brought my copy of 'crimson peak' to work to lend one of the other receptionists. and i had it in my hand when i went to get a coffee, and this cute barista guy was like ooh you like that movie? you like movies? i love movies. and we loaned movies back and forth for a bit and chatted about them. and then one day he was like so hey i ordered this movie and they sent me two, do you want this? it's good. and he gave me a shrinkwrapped brand new copy of whiplash. and i was like okay sure why not and i watched it. and. it didn't sit well with me. like this whole message about how people only become great if someone pushes them until they break? boo. and next time i saw the guy he was like ooh so what did you think??? and i was like well it was really well done and interesting but ultimately i'm not down with the overall thing they seemed to be going for. the guy cooled on me after that. was never rude but wasn't as engaged. and he never gave back my copy of i saw the light, either! but he left for another job and about a month after that the head receptionist also left so i got her position... and when i was cleaning out her desk i found. a brand new shrink wrapped copy of whiplash. this motherfucker. how many copies did he have. how many girls did he give them to, trying to see if they were on his level, lol. fucking SAD.

All of Danny's furious stubborn defiance gets buried as far down as it can go, and he would be more than a little afraid of Jameson's open anger. Nate would be defensive on Danny's behalf but ultimately he would understand Jameson far more easily.
