Farrington Palace shares new portrait in celebration of Crown Prince Nathaniel’s 18th birthday
Farrington rejoices today, as it is the Crown Prince’s birthday - and it’s not just any birthday! The young prince has turned 18 today, reaching adulthood, meaning he is expected to be working more and more for the royal family in the future. In celebration of Nathaniel’s birthday two portraits of the Prince were shared, showing him in uniform in front of his parents’ thrones. It was also shared that, after his graduation, the Crown Prince will be joining the military. Whispers are that ultimate ambitions of Prince Nate are to be flying in the Royal Air Force. An official birthday celebration is not happening today, but is planned to take place over the weekend. It might not be the kind of party Nathaniel would have wanted, though, as it is a formal occasion with some strong allies of Farrington invited, and with nobility and important citizens of the country. We do expect, however, that the Prince will find some ways to celebrate his birthday more, if we think of what we know about the Prince’s partying behaviour already.
He’s the birthday boy, I’m the birthday girl. Officially 23, but who even likes you when you’re 23?

Episode Commentary from Barrett Foa and Renee Felice Smith - “Getaway”.
"Getaway" was Barrett Foa's and Renee Felice Smith's favorite episode. They had nicknames like "Campfire Sing-a-Long" and "Kumbaya" for the episode.
Of note about the episode:
The dress Nell wore in the episode is one of RFS's favorites.
RFS had a fan-girl freak-out when she met Keiko Agena – big Gilmore Girls fan. BF was excited to work with Gabriel Tigerman who is married to actress Kathryn Fiore, who went to high school with BF (and played the wife of Peter Cambor (Nate)'s character, Ingrid, in The Wedding Band on TBS). Everyone knows everyone else it seems. And they "love Pete."
NSA Agent Michael Donaldson is played by Patrick Wenk-Wolff, who is engaged to episode writer Erin Broadhurst. "It's almost like the role was written just for him," said BF. RFS said casting director Susan Bluestein suggested Wenk-Wolff for the role – it really wasn't written for him.
The episode's director, Tony Wharmby, directed the pilot episode (the NCIS hour), BF's first episode and "Special Delivery", RFS's first episode. They feel they were very fortunate to have him for the big Eric and Nell episode.
They love working with Scott Grimes. "He's so smart, so fun, so easy going." He was a young Broadway performer which impressed both BF and RFS.
BF and RFS credit Scott Gemmill with a lot the things that make Eric and Nell, Eric and Nell. He's the specialist on Renaissance Fairs, the episodes about Eric having to wear long pants – all Gemmill.
Grimes's long speech on the stairs was shot several times and Grimes nailed it every time. When Nell pulls Eric into wardrobe, that was improv. So were Eric's comment about the cabin being musty (because the cabin really was musty) and Deeks's "just stop it is amazing" reactions in the RV.
Deeks's Burning Man speech is an in-joke. BF attends Burning Man every year.
Nell's gold hat in the field was her favorite hat so far. RFS wanted to keep it but didn't. “Catholic guilt.”
It rained for two weeks before the episode was filmed so when they got to the area where the retreat was being filmed, everything was very green and lush instead of beige and yellow.
BF and RFS loved Amy Farrington, the actress playing the woman who ran the retreat. She was the perfect for the character.
When Sam mentions Michelle in the episode, BF sighs sadly. BF and RFS thought LL Cool J was amazing in the final two episodes of season eight. Michelle’s mention was a seed of that storyline planted here.
Keiko Agena's speech about her sister after Eric told Nell when he learned he loved her was much longer and she delivered it perfectly every time. A lot of it was cut.
They thought Kensi and Deeks had a great season. ECO and DR have great chemistry on and off screen and are so fun to work with.
The scene where Eric has his arm around Nell before the scavenger hunt has Eric with a very long arm.
When you see LL Cool J working the tablet – it isn't his hands. It is rarely the hands of anyone of the characters on keyboards or tablets. It saves time to have those scenes shot by other performers.
DR and RFS both were trained at the same acting school in New York – something ECO makes fun of all the time. BF notes ECO gets by on charm and humor.
Bar Paly is very down to earth, goofy, funny.
The boat shed is RFS's favorite set.
BF and RFS like CO'D's longer hair this season. They love "grizzly man" Callen in the season premieres.
BF and RFS think that Eric and Nell are not the stereotypical heroes like Kensi and Deeks but they can still get the job done.
BF didn't mind missing all the exposition Scott Grimes had to do with Sam and Anna.
RFS was blown away by the fight scenes in the episode. The camera work made her feel the punches. She also was disappointed they never saw the photo Deeks took.
In the boat shed, there was a cut line – the story Nell told Tara about her sister (Katie) who died was true. Eric knew it was true and admired Nell for working through her pain.
RFS thinks Linda Hunt is stellar in every way. She's the voice of reason, experience, wisdom. She's lived. BF commented that Linda Hunt’s whole look shows a lifetime of experience - she knows things younger actors don't.

A Weakened Nate Brings Flooding, Power Outages To Gulf Coast

BILOXI, Miss. — Hurricane Nate brought a burst of flooding and power outages to the U.S. Gulf Coast before weakening rapidly Sunday, sparing the region the kind of catastrophic damage left by a series of hurricanes that hit the southern U.S. and Caribbean in recent weeks.
Nate — the first hurricane to make landfall in Mississippi since Katrina in 2005 — quickly lost strength, with its winds diminishing to a tropical depression as it pushed northward into Alabama and toward Georgia with heavy rain. It was a Category 1 hurricane when it came ashore outside Biloxi early Sunday, its second landfall after initially hitting southeastern Louisiana on Saturday evening.
The storm surge from the Mississippi Sound littered Biloxi’s main beachfront highway with debris and flooded a casino’s lobby and parking structure overnight.
By dawn, however, Nate’s receding floodwaters didn’t reveal any obvious signs of widespread damage in the city where Hurricane Katrina had leveled thousands of beachfront homes and businesses.
No storm-related deaths or injuries were immediately reported.
Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant praised state and local officials and coastal residents for working together to avoid loss of life.
Lee Smithson, director of the state emergency management agency, said damage from Nate was held down in part because of work done and lessons learned from Katrina.
“If that same storm would have hit us 15 years ago, the damage would have been extensive and we would have had loss of life.” Smithson said of Nate. “But we have rebuilt the coast in the aftermath of Katrina higher and stronger.”
Nate knocked out power to more than 100,000 residents in Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana and Florida, but crews were working on repairs.
As of Sunday afternoon, Alabama Power said more than 62,000 customers remained without power, while utilities and cooperatives in Mississippi said more than 21,000 were without electricity. In Louisiana, there were scattered outages during the storm, while Florida Gov. Rick Scott said 6,800 customers had lost power in his state.
Mississippi’s Gulf Coast casinos got approval to reopen in midmorning after closing Saturday as the storm approached.
Sean Stewart, checking on his father’s sailboat at a Biloxi marina after daybreak, found another boat had sunk, its sail still fluttering in Nate’s diminishing winds. Stewart was relieved to find his father’s craft intact.
“I got lucky on this one,” he said.
Before Nate sped past Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula late Friday and entered the Gulf of Mexico, it drenched Central America with rains that left at least 22 people dead. But Nate didn’t approach the intensity of Harvey, Irma and Maria — powerful storms that left behind massive destruction during 2017′s exceptionally busy hurricane season.
“We are thankful because this looked like it was going to be a freight train barreling through the city,” said Vincent Creel, a spokesman for the city of Biloxi.
The head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency said the four hurricanes that have struck the U.S. and its territories this year have “strained” resources, with roughly 85 percent of the agency’s forces deployed.
“We’re still working massive issues in Harvey, Irma, as well as the issues in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and now this one,” FEMA Administrator Brock Long told ABC’s “This Week.”
The federal government declared emergencies in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.
Nate initially made landfall Saturday evening in Louisiana, but fears that it would overwhelm the fragile pumping system in New Orleans proved to be unfounded. The storm passed to the east of New Orleans, and Mayor Mitch Landrieu lifted a curfew on the city known for its all-night partying.
“Hurricane Nate had the potential to wreak havoc on Louisiana, but thankfully, we were largely spared major damage,” Gov. John Bel Edwards said in a statement.
In Alabama, Dauphin Island Mayor Jeff Collier said he woke up around 3 a.m. Sunday to discover knee-deep water in his yard. Although some homes and cars on the island had flooded, Collier said he hadn’t heard of anyone needing rescue.
“We didn’t think it would be quite that bad,” he said. “It kind of snuck up on us in the wee hours of the morning.”
At landfall in Mississippi, the fast-moving storm had maximum sustained winds near 85 mph (140 kph), the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said. Nate steadily weakened after its first landfall in a sparsely populated area of Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana.
At 5 p.m. EDT, the center of Nate was about 75 miles (120 kilometers) south of Nashville, Tennessee. Nate was expected to bring 3 to 6 inches of rain to the Deep South, eastern Tennessee Valley and southern Appalachians through Monday. The Ohio Valley, central Appalachians and Northeast could also get heavy rain before the storm exits Maine on Tuesday.
Biloxi city employees worked before dawn to clear Highway 90, where sand, logs and even a large trash bin had been washed onto the four-lane, beachfront road. Despite the debris, there was little to no visible damage to structures. A handful of businesses had reopened before dawn, and the storm surge that washed across the highway had receded by 6 a.m.
“We are thankful because this looked like it was going to be a freight train barreling through the city.” - Biloxi city spokesman Vincent Creel. Mississippi DOT crews had to remove over 1,000 pumpkins blown onto Highway 90 in Pass Christian, west of Gulfport.
Willie Cook, 75, spent his morning chopping down a pecan tree that fell in his backyard. He said Nate was nothing like Katrina, which pushed 8 feet (2.4 meters) of water into his east Biloxi house.
“The wind was blowing, but it wasn’t too rough,” Cook said of Nate.
Storm surge flooded the parking structure of the Golden Nugget casino and several others in Biloxi.
Mississippi Emergency Management Agency spokesman Greg Flynn said about 1,100 people spent the night in shelters.
“Thankfully, right now we have no major damage reports,” he said.
Hancock County Emergency Management Agency Director Brian Adam said Nate’s storm surge flooded low-lying roads, but he hadn’t heard any reports of flooded homes.
“We turned out fairly good,” he said as he prepared to survey neighborhoods.
In Alabama, the storm flooded homes and cars on the coast and inundated at least one major road in downtown Mobile.
At sunrise in Pensacola Beach, Florida, a small front-end loader scraped sand off a parking lot and returned it to the nearby beach.
On Saturday night, about 6 inches of salt water began flowing through Anthony Perez’s garage and a ground-level room of his Pensacola Beach condo along Santa Rosa Sound. The entire building was still surrounded by water on Sunday morning.
“I went downstairs and said, ‘Uh! There it is! It’s already flowing through,’” Perez said.
Officials rescued five people from two sailboats in choppy waters before the storm — two people from a sailboat in Lake Pontchartrain and three who were in the water after a boat hit rocks in the Mississippi Sound.

Catherine: “I heard that someone has decided to fly helicopters and planes and what not.” Nate: “Maybe I did.” Catherine: “The whole of Farrington is in danger now – the biggest dork of the country is going to fly! Take cover!” Nate: “You wish you were as cool as me, you brat.”
Catherine: “Says the dude who can’t get a real girlfriend.” Nate: “I could if I wanted to.” Catherine: “Bold assumptions there, crown prince. Looks like the only guy here that can get a girlfriend is Zac.”
Nate: “Listen, he needed some backup to be able to get a girlfriend, so I let him take the spotlight.” Zac: “I’m sure you were not involved in that scenario, Nate..” Nate: “You don’t know that! I’m your big brother, I got your back.” Catherine: “Don’t underplay Zac’s moves! He got the girl.”
Nate: “Speaking of the girl, I heard you gave her some jewellery – way to go big man!” Zac: “Uhh.. Thanks?” Catherine: “Oh, she loves it. She was parading around school showing it off.” Nate: “It’s the Farrington genes, I tell you – irresistible.”

Royal Family share Christmas Card ahead of the holidays
A lovely surprise was given by our very own Royal Family today: the Queen’s household shared their official Christmas card, and it features some big changes! Front and centre seated is the Queen, wearing a lovely golden yellow dress. She was flanked by her four children, and supported by her husband. The two Royal ladies of Farrington Palace matched with their golden tones, while all the boys chose to wear black suits with a bow tie. What is striking, though, was how much some of the children have grown!
The Royal Twins are now well into secondary education, and guesses are they are going to be quite the heartbreakers in the upcoming years! Nicknamed ‘The Shy Prince’ Prince Zachary has grown up to be quite handsome, and just like with Prince Nate it is said that teenage girls have started to quite ‘fangirl’ of the young prince. Some are on the fence, though, and wonder how the boy that has always stuck to his mother’s legs will fare in the limelight. His siter, however, has always seemed more comfortable with the role she has. Even with her pose in the card it seems that Catherine is quite feisty, and already comfortable in her own skin. Experts claim that a new fashionista is on the rise, and that she will step into her mother’s footsteps when it comes to style.
The baby of the family has outgrown diapers, and we at The Moon don’t know how to feel about this! Not much is known about Edward’s personality so far, but we do know he is attending the same primary school as his siblings have. As what we call the ‘latecomer’ of the family it can be difficult to see a close bond with his siblings, but insiders claim that behind closed doors the others really dote on him.
Early happy holidays from me to you and your loved ones! I hope you can all enjoy this period a bit, and that the next year may be good / better for everyone. <3

Nate: “You wanted to see me, mother?” Alex: “Ah, yes, Nate. Right on time. We need to have a chat.” Nate: “I’m not in trouble, am I?” Alex: “Oh, honey no! Quite the contrary, actually.”
Alex: “We need to talk about your responsibilities within this family, Nathaniel. But you were already expecting that, right?” Nate: “Father has already mentioned some things, yes.. He told me it was only a matter of time before you would call me here.” Alex: “As you grow older you will be expected to take on more responsibilities. Therefore, your father and I have been talking about your school..”
Nate: “My school? What about it? I thought grandma insisted on me going to the best there is.” Alex: “Yes, but you would have to miss school quite often to join us on engagements. Because of that, we thought private home schooling would be best for you .” Nate: “What? Private schooling? Not a chance.” Alex: “Nathaniel, it is your duty-” Nate: “I will join all your engagements and what not, but please don’t take me off school. I need it, I need my friends!”
Alex: “You have to realise that that will be very difficult for you. You’ll have to stay on top of your work, and all you will miss. Your father and I will not tolerate any low grades.” Nate: “I understand, but please give me the chance to prove myself without losing my friends.” Alex: “Very well. We’ll try your arrangement. You may go.” Nate: “Thank you, mother.”

Nate: “Have you tried telling them you’re a Prince, big fellow? They have to like you then.” Zac: “I don’t want to tell everyone that.” Nate: “Well, you should. It gets you stuff. Mainly candy.” Zac: “But mom- Hey! Stop it! My hair!”

The Birthday Boy: Our future King has grown up!
If you can’t believe your eyes right now you’re not alone: Crown Prince Nathaniel has grown up! It seems like only yesterday the future King was born, and now he is already ready to go to elementary school! To celebrate her eldest child growing up Queen Alexandra chose to share three portraits of Prince Nate. Two show him posing alone in front of the thrones - a foreshadowing to his later duty, while the third photographs shows him posing with his mother and the current monarch. The portrait is the first official portrait of the Queen and her successor, as Alexandra and Christopher wanted to shield him from his duties until he started going to elementary school. First they wanted him to grow up happily and carefree, before slowly learning more and more about his duties as Crown Prince. Prince Nate is said to be quite the jokester, and has inherited his mother’s people skills. However, he does seem to be a bit more like his aunt, as he is said to be quite outgoing, talking to most people who enter Farrington Palace. The young Prince is said to attend elementary section of Kelton College, the exclusive all boys school just outside of Aylesbury.

Behind the Scenes - Farrington Palace
Christopher: “Ah, Nathaniel. You’re here.” Nate: “Yes, papa. Beatrice told me you wanted to talk to me.” C: “That’s right. Turn around, Nate. What do you see?” N: “I don’t see anything.” C: “You don’t see anything? That is the biggest lie you have told me. Again. What do you see?” N: “I see mama’s thrones?”
C: “Precisely. Those thrones represent us, represent the power and importance of our roles in this country. And while they represent your mother now, they will one day show your name, your legacy.” N: “I already know this, papa. Mama has talked to me, and Mister Kennings is teaching me everything I need to know.” C: “That may be the case, but you will listen to me. You are my son. It is my responsibility that you grow up not just to be a fine young man, but to be the greatest King this country has ever seen. You are the one to carry my bloodline into Farringtonian history. You will always be above your siblings, and therefore you are the one to make sure that everyone works towards your reign. Do you understand?”
N: “Yes, papa.. But I don’t want to be above my siblings. It’s just because I was born first. Why shouldn’t they be trained like me?” C: “Your siblings will be trained, and Zachary will have a similar education to yours. The thing that he will learn is his role as your right hand. The one to help you if that is the need. But you.. You are the future of this country. Follow me.” N: “But papa..” C: “No buts. A future King does not argue with his father.”
C: “What do you see?” N: “Again?” C: “Nathaniel..” N: “I.. I see you and mama.” C: “What is important here is the composition of the portrait.” N: “What does that mean?”
C: “That means the way the portrait is organised. Where objects and people are placed. In each painting, in each picture, even, the composition tells a story. How are your mother and I pictured here?” N: “Do you mean that mommy is in front of you ?” C: “Precisely! Very smart, Nathaniel. And why do I have to stand behind your mother?” N: “Because mama is the Queen.”
C: “I have to stand behind her at all times, whether that is in a portrait or in real life. I am no King, I am Prince Consort. Meaning that I am here to support your mother, to give her the attention. And right now, that is your role too. Your role is to grow, but also to learn. To not take your life for granted, but to recognise the importance of your responsibilities. We are to support your mother, like you will one day need the support of those around you .” N: “But papa.. why are you telling me this? Like you said, I will be King one day..” C: “You are my son. And while I have to stand behind your mother, you will never have to do that. I want you to always keep in mind that you will not do that, no matter what woman you might end up falling far.” N: “Papa, girls are gross!” C: “You may think so now, but when you are older you are expected to marry a perfect woman and strengthen the monarchy. But you need to promise me that you will not end up standing behind a woman, that you will focus on your responsibilities to this nation and to me. You need to promise that no matter what, you stay focussed on the task you were born with, and that you will make sure you end up one of the finest Kings this country has ever seen. Can you do that? N: “Yes, papa..” C: “Yes what?” N: “Yes, papa. I promise..”

Alexandra and Christopher present the royal twins
Two days ago, the news broke on the birth of the two newest additions to the Farrington royal family, and today, the Queen and Prince Consort stepped out to share their bundles of joy with the world! Just like with Prince Nathaniel, the pair shared their babies at the steps of Martha Wing. Together with the first appearance, the names of the babies were shared/ Firstborn was Prince Zachary James Francis Farrington, whose middle names were taken from the respective fathers of his parents (which was the same for Nate). James was the second middle name of the Queen’s late father, while Francis is the second middle name of the Duke of Arbil. Born second was the first daughter to the Queen and Prince Consort, who they named Princess Catherine Elizabeth Florence Farrington. Striking here is that the two middle names are the first names of her grandmothers: Elizabeth Josephine Michelle Houghton, the Queen Mother, and Florence Caroline Sophie Killian. Was the Queen trying to make a statement with this choice? Insiders do claim so! They suspect that Queen Alexandra wants to represent the strong female characters in little Catherine’s life, and that she will always be aware of the way she is loved and how the women of a previous generation stood in life!
