*Blinks and watches the intel feed into the HUD of her Mjolnir [Gen2].* “This is Quinn 393, copy.”
Okay, this is going to be far more like my initial reactions which means I am just posting my thoughts and considerations for the new Halo TV series.
I want to say the Cold Open introducing elements of the Insurrectionist movement and the deadly precision of Elites was, good. I liked it, I’m interested in how Kwan Ha will add to the series. Perhaps one of the weakest aspects of Halo (please note I AM NOT a heavy Halo Gamer, but I had friends who were stans of it) will give a greater level of inquiry against the UNSC. One of the biggest problems I’ve had with stories like Forward Unto Dawn the movie is how the early Colonial Rebels were rarely ever given any screen time or even elaboration.
Our spartans including all of Silver Team such as John-117, Vannak-134, Riz-028, and Kai-125 were introdced on pretty nice dramatic level. I really did like how they put effort into making even the group walking in unison give them an almost mechanical feel. The Elites looked appropriately Sanghelii and I was fascinated by how Kwan Ha and her dad provided a good insight into Madrigal. All of the colonists getting murdelated by plasma weapons was pretty brutal, but hell, we’re talking about an alien confederation that ‘glasses” fucking planets for being “heretics”.
Fuck them. we’re reclaimers right?
And instantly we are tossed into the bullshit that is the UNSC leadership. I know I’m skipping stuff here, but these last few days have been pretty low spoons. I found the Admiral  Margaret Parangosky to be pretty terrible. Let’s murder a kid cuz she’s not jumping at our propaganda! But, honestly, Shabana Azmi, is doing a decent job. She feels like they’re directing her to be a bit too much like Chrisjen from Expanse though. She was effectively amoral and really provided a great counter to Dr. Miranda Keyes attempt to get Kwan to play along. Halsey is, well she’s Halsey, our friendly little child kidnapping mad scientist who is someone I despise to all the Nine Hells.
Actress Natascha McElhone is an interesting choice, and while she’s a bit young for Halsey (she always appear a bit older to me, her hair is a bit too blonde rather than silver) I’m okay with her. I already don’t like her and prefer keyes. Introducing Makee (who I’m really confused why we needed this unnecessary rando human on High Charity) as a learning piece for High Prophet Mercy is a weird addition.
One of the best scenes in this show ignoring the opening fight scene was when the UNSC decides to put a kill order on Kwan. Well, of course, Chief goes awol and saves her life. He’s MASTER CHIEF! The idea of the Forerunner item unleashing his blocked memories was a nice touch, but for the love of GOD PUT YOUR DAMN HELMET BACK ON! Like I get it, we need to humanize Chief, but I don’t care. He’s iconic for being the bad ass who brings hope, and -never takes off his damn helmet-. Other than that and Makee I liked the series.
Hottakes - All conclude with PUT ON YOUR DAMN HELMET JOHN-117!

Paramount+ Releases First Teaser for 'Halo' Live Action Series
Paramount+ Releases First Teaser for ‘Halo’ Live Action Series
Paramount+ has released the first teaser for their live action adaptation of the popular video game series Halo and as a fan of the iconic series, I am hyped for it. There isn’t that much to see in the teaser other than the back of series star Pablo Schreiber as he suits up as Master Chief and the voice over of Natascha McElhone as Cortana, but what we do get is enough to hype fans of the long…

Shabana Azmi’s anxious relatives’ friends and well-wishers can breathe a sigh of relief. The distinguished actress and fearless activist is recovering fast from the road accident that she met with on Saturday. The injuries were never “grievous” and she was never “critical”, as reported in the more melodramatic sections of the press.
Now she is well on the way to recovery, and Shabana will soon be discharged from the Kokilabehn Dhirubhai Ambani hospital where she has been recuperating since Saturday.
Javed Akhtar sounded distinctly upbeat on Wednesday morning when I inquired about Shabana’s health. “There is good news. All tests and medical reports including the MRI are positive. No serious harm was done. We we can all breathe a sigh of relief,” says Javed.
Shabana should be home in a couple of days. Her next screen appearance in the Steven Spielberg-produced Halo which is one of the most popular video game franchises in the world, having sold more than 77 million copies since its initial release in 2001. The series comes from Showtime, Amblin Television and Microsoft. Halo, which Showtime has described as its "most ambitious series ever," is set to begin production in Budapest in the fall.
Apart from our own Shabana, Natascha McElhone, Shabana Azmi Bokeem Woodbine, Bentley Kalu, Natasha Culzac and Kate Kennedy have signed on to the drama based on the mega-popular video game franchise, which will dramatize the conflict between humanity and an alien race known as the Covenant in the 26th century.
Pablo Schreiber, plays the iconic Master Chief role. McElhone (Designated Survivor, Californication) will play Cortana, the most advanced AI in human history who may be the key to the survival of the human race.
Shabana Azmi plays Admiral Margaret Parangosky, the head of the Office of Naval Intelligence. She completed one long schedule of Halo in Budapest earlier this month and rushed back to Mumbai for Javed Saab’s birthday celebrations. The accident happened a day after his birthday.

Since 'The Handmaid's Tale,' Hulu's new subscriber sign-ups have nearly doubled, as it takes on Netflix
You might not have noticed until recently, but Hulu's been running original programs for six years.
Thanks to "The Handmaid's Tale," which premiered in April and won eight Emmys in September (including the first outstanding drama win for a streaming service), things are finally starting to take off for its original series.
Hulu noticed a significant rise in subscriber numbers this year. According to The Hollywood Reporter, its daily sign-ups have gone up 98% since March.
For years, Hulu was seen as the go-to place for watching last night's episodes of TV, not a go-to place for original content like Netflix. Before "The Handmaid's Tale," Hulu had other great original shows, though none got as much buzz as the dystopian drama. And now, Hulu is optimistic that its success with "The Handmaid's Tale" changes that for good.
Hulu's head of experience, Ben Smith, told The Hollywood Reporter that "The Handmaid's Tale" has opened up a bigger conversation about "everything else that is on Hulu." For the recent surge in subscribers, Smith also gives credit to other big changes and additions Hulu made this year. These include the live television option ($40 per month), the HBO add-on (which helped get new subscribers around the season seven "Game of Thrones" premiere date in July), the Cinemax add-on, and its Spotify partnership that gets students a discount.
Hulu is continuing to make original shows with big names attached.
Joe Stillerman — who's responsible for shows like "The Walking Dead" and "Better Call Saul" in his time at AMC — joined Hulu as Chief Content Officer in May. Stillerman is attracting big names to Hulu's original shows with an upcoming series from "House of Cards" creator Beau Willimon as executive producer, starring Sean Penn. The show, called "The First," has already drawn "Designated Survivor" star Natascha McElhone to leave network TV.
One of Hulu's existing shows that is worth watching is "Difficult People," which stars Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner, has loads of pop culture references, and includes famous guest stars like Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Lucy Liu, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Julianne Moore. The excellent comedy — which is loved by critics — follows two people-hating best friends in New York City, and just ended its third season.
"Harlots," another Hulu original loved by critics, follows a female brothel owner struggling to raise her daughters in 18th century London. It made its debut in March, right before "The Handmaid's Tale" premiered.
Along with the Sean Penn-starring "The First," big upcoming Hulu originals include "Marvel's Runaways" from the team that gave us "Gossip Girl" and "The OC," and "Future Man" starring Josh Hutchinson of "The Hunger Games" franchise.
In addition to stepping up its original programming, with $2.5 billion for its 2017 programming budget, Hulu continues to step up its streaming deals for older shows, proving its a major competitor with Netflix in both areas.
On Wednesday, Hulu announced that it will stream the Emmy-winning Tina Fey comedy "30 Rock," which leaves Netflix on October 1.  This licensing agreement with NBC Universal also gave Hulu the rights to stream the iconic 90's sitcom "Will & Grace" just in time for its return to NBC on Thursday night.
