Thank You and Goodbye!

Dear NASBBitizens,

It's hard to believe that it's over! Nine months, 90 collabs, 4,272,290 words, 561 pieces of art, 11 bars of soap, 5 podfics, and 3 fanvids later, you have made a truly difficult year brighter, not only for everyone reading and feasting their eyes and ears on your art, but for us, your mods.

When we first started throwing around the idea of putting together a stucky bang, of course we had no idea what 2020 had in store for us or all the challenges we would collectively face. We have been stunned by your engagement, your wild creativity, and your enthusiasm despite this! Not only have you all turned your energy toward creation in a year that seemed determined to suck the joy out of everything, you formed a truly supportive and encouraging community inside the bang discord and out of it, and it has been really humbling to see the friendships that have come out of this community.

From our initial idea way back in October 2019—which honestly seems like decades ago now—a truly remarkable amount of creativity has flourished, and to see the relationships that have developed from your collaborations and especially around the act of creation has been such a bright spot for us in this truly accursed year. We hope it has been a bright spot for you as well.

Many of you have asked if we have plans for a 2021 event. The simple answer is: not right now! With a bang of this magnitude and timeline, we just don’t have the energy or the time to start all over again in a matter of weeks. Plus, we have an overflowing reading list to catch up on! Never say never, though—maybe in a few months we’ll be itching to bury ourselves in spreadsheets again. But for now, your (Not) Another Stucky Big Bang Mods have no plans other than disappearing into the woods*, never to be seen again.

Thank you from all of us for being part of the (Not) Another Stucky Big Bang. This has been an immense labor of love for us, and it's truly gratifying to see the love that you, too, have put into it. You have all made this fandom (and community) a better, more creative place.

Hi hello!

It's been a hot minute since I posted any writing here. Part of it was my posting blackout during June, part of it has been me being neck deep in a big fic project. I'm happy to announce that project is Silver Flashes, Golden Crowns, my contribution to the Not Another Stucky Big Bang! If all goes well, I'll have a multi-chapter royal AU fic featuring our boys to share with you towards the end of the year!

I'm so excited to finish the story and put it out in the world along with the art of the immensely talented @lemonadeswift who I'm collaborating with for this. I’m currently about midway through the story, and I will try to share some snippets with you later on.

Please submit your form by next Wednesday, August 19th, and remember - you must submit one form for each fic you are collabing on. So fic writers: one form for you. Artists: one form for each of the fics you claimed. Writer/Artist overachievers: one form for the fic you’re writing, and one form each for the fics you are doing art for.

❗️Mod Announcement - Schedule Change

Based on your responses to the survey we emailed yesterday, we have decided to push back claims two weeks. Thank you all for your feedback--we appreciate your time and understanding. 💜 Here is our revised schedule:

Slides and Pitch Pages due: June 20 at 11:59 PM PST (What time is that for me?)

Authors/artists view slide compilation: by June 23

Artist sign-ups close: June 20

Claims Round 1: June 27 at 8:00 PM EST (What time is that for me?)

Claims Round 2: July 11

It’s our hope that by extending claims, we’re giving you a little more space and time to process current world events before diving into claims, which can be one of the more stressful aspects of a bang event. There are so many important matters that deserve our attention and energy right now, and we’ve shared a few resources about Black Lives Matter, racism, and police brutality on our Twitter that we hope you’ll engage with. It’s hard to balance all the stress of creating with the joy of being active in fandom when racial violence and a global pandemic are causing real harm to so many. But, we’re also aware fandom can be a much-needed place of solace and comfort when the world is upended, and we’ve tried to come up with the best solution for everyone.

NASBB Claims 102: what the heck is a “claim”?

Hey writers, thanks for getting your claim slides in! Feel free to sit back and relax for a bit while the artists step in to man the S.S. Panic At The Bang...sco. (Sorry our brains are also mush, we can’t think of a better joke.)

✨ SO, Artists! You signed up to be an Artist for the (N)ASBB and now have to go through the "Claims Process." You might have some questions, for example: what the heck? and how do Claims work? and will I be sitting at my computer, crying, while stuffing unsalted tortilla chips into my mouth next Saturday? ✨ The answers are, in this order: Claims! and we'll tell you! and hopefully not! At least get some Cool Ranch Doritos.

NASBB claims slide submissions are OPEN!

Authors, you should have received an email with instructions and links for the claims process. If you haven’t received, remember to check your spam folder and add us to your contact list!

You will have until June 6th to submit a Fic Summary Slide (mandatory) & Pitch Pages (optional). Slides will be compiled in a random order, so don’t rush!

Remember—no edits will be allowed once slides are submitted, so take your time.

Dear NASBBitizens,

It’s hard to believe that it’s over! Nine months, 90 collabs, 4,272,290 words, 561 pieces of art, 11 bars of soap, 5 podfics, and 3 fanvids later, you have made a truly difficult year brighter, not only for everyone reading and feasting their eyes and ears on your art, but for us, your mods.

When we first started throwing around the idea of putting together a stucky bang, of course we had no idea what 2020 had in store for us or all the challenges we would collectively face. We have been stunned by your engagement, your wild creativity, and your enthusiasm despite this! Not only have you all turned your energy toward creation in a year that seemed determined to suck the joy out of everything, you formed a truly supportive and encouraging community inside the bang discord and out of it, and it has been really humbling to see the friendships that have come out of this community.

From our initial idea way back in October 2019—which honestly seems like decades ago now—a truly remarkable amount of creativity has flourished, and to see the relationships that have developed from your collaborations and especially around the act of creation has been such a bright spot for us in this truly accursed year. We hope it has been a bright spot for you as well.

Many of you have asked if we have plans for a 2021 event. The simple answer is: not right now! With a bang of this magnitude and timeline, we just don’t have the energy or the time to start all over again in a matter of weeks. Plus, we have an overflowing reading list to catch up on! Never say never, though—maybe in a few months we’ll be itching to bury ourselves in spreadsheets again. But for now, your (Not) Another Stucky Big Bang Mods have no plans other than disappearing into the woods*, never to be seen again.

Thank you from all of us for being part of the (Not) Another Stucky Big Bang. This has been an immense labor of love for us, and it’s truly gratifying to see the love that you, too, have put into it. You have all made this fandom (and community) a better, more creative place.
