For various reasons, I kept my married name after the divorce, but for other various reasons, I'm more than ready to move on.
I did consider taking back my maiden name, but turns out that in terms of cost, I wouldn’t save a whole hecking lot compared to just... getting a whole new last name.
So yeah.
Trying to find a new last name that I can feel happy with. And then just hope it will be approved.
#during my research I have found out you can apparently petition to have your last name be Horse#(in Swedish obv)#no I will not petition for my new last name to be Horse#partly because NO and partly because the irony is I am very allergic to horses

Every year, the bright Scandinavian summer nights fade without anyone's noticing. One evening in August you have an errand outdoors, and all of a sudden it's pitch-black. It is still summer, but the summer is no longer alive.
Tove Jansson, The Summer Book
#I have been sleeping in the living room for the past... four days?#because heatwave and it's just easier to sleep on an air mattress where the AC is blowing right at me#and I looked out the window yesterday#realizing it was once again starting to get dark#and as much as I love summer#there was something so comforting about that darkness#an old friend that has arrived quietly#meeting you with open arms and a small knowing smile#it is still summer#but it's a summer that knows its days are numbered

Enough about favorite books. What’s a book you read and absolutely hated? The book you’ve got a bone to pick with.
#The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand#just... why#why why why#and also why did it take me morw than TEN YEARS to finally give up on it

Well, I bought IKEA furniture about it.
Gonna go run now and hopefully not feel like I need to throw up (which was the case yesterday).
Banner fucking day.
Just.

So, do we get to know what the other fandom you fell into is, or?
(*grabby hands at your writing*)
I...... might keep that close to my chest. When I first started posting for that fandom, I did so anonymously, and it took MONTHS before I ended up making a separate account for it.
It's brought me a lot of joy and a lot of new friends, though.

thinking of you and sending you symbolic latkes ❤️

This has been sitting in my ask for AGES. Please know I so appreciate the latkes. I still need to try my hand at making them sometimes.

Hi.
So.
Uh.
Life has happened. A lot. Like, a lot a lot.
I kind of fell into a different fandom. I divorced in May last year. I walked in my first Pride parade in July. I went to Slovenia on my first proper solo trip just days after that. I ran every day for a year. I bought the apartment that had been a shared home for ten years and have been slowly growing accustomed to it being mine (and the cat's). I was let go from my job in December. I was kept on through an extension that would keep me on until August and then ultimately rehired in May. I have two new tattoos. I graduated with an MBA today. I have cried (a lot). I have laughed (hopefully more).
I have no idea what will happen next.
And I think that's okay.
