-you don't go on many "typical" dates (going to a restaurant for example) because Naruhaya doesn't have the money for it. You always offer to pay for him, but he never lets you

-because Naruhaya won't let you take him to a restaurant, you often cook together. Because you or your parents paid for the ingredients, he accepts it easier than if you bought him food somewhere else. Naruhaya is a mixed bag: he’s a mischievous boy who loves goofing off with you, but he also has a surprisingly mature side to him. His dedication to his goals are commendable, and while you love him more than anyone else in the world, you find yourself wishing you could do more for him. He tells you not to worry about him and that he’ll find a way to make things alright. He always does, and it’s hard to stay down when he tries to uplift you with that sunshine-like smile of his and pinches your cheeks to make you smile too. There’s no use wallowing in worries when he’s with you. You two can take things one step at a time, and that’s all you need from one another. 

Naruhaya likes to cook for you! He loves inviting you over to his house, and he’ll happily show off all the groceries he was able to pick up. He loves surprising you with all the kinds of different foods he can make, and if you want to help him, Naruhaya will let you pitch in. He’ll have you sample his food to make sure it tastes alright while he cooks for you, and he gets a little embarrassed every time you insist on taking a picture of his masterpiece before you dig in. You have an album on your phone dedicated to all the dishes he’s made for you, and you’ve been trying to convince him to open a food Instagram forever.

Other than that, he likes to go out on late night walks with you. He likes listening to the sounds of the slumbering world, admiring how warm your hand feels when it’s linked with his, and he can let the tension in his shoulders fall for a little bit. Whenever the cool night air stings your nose, he’ll cup his hands around your face to warm them up, and if you tell him that he doesn’t need to do that, he’ll have you cup his face instead. These small intimate moments are what Naruhaya lives for, where he doesn’t feel the pressure to be the best in the world and he can just be your loving boyfriend.

Whenever you surprise Naruhaya by showing up to his part-time job to visit, he blushes furiously and tells you that you didn’t need to drop by. You find it fun to tease him while he’s on shift, watching him struggle to maintain his composure in front of all of his managers (who find it just as amusing as you do). Bonus points if you bring him little snacks or trinkets to keep him entertained while he’s on shift: he’s so busy that he forgets to take care of himself sometimes that you want to do what you can to fill in the gaps whenever you’re with him. If you can’t visit him though, he’ll spend his break texting you and telling you about how he can’t wait to see you once he’s done working for the day.

His siblings all love you! Every time you visit his place (which is often), they all run up to you demanding hugs and piggyback rides. Naruhaya tells them not to bother you, but you don’t mind. It’s hard to say no to them when they’re so excited to see you, and no matter how much they wear you out by dragging you alongside them to play games together, it’s nice to know that Naruhaya’s family has practically accepted you as one of their own. It’s to the point that sometimes his younger siblings will blurt out when you’re going to marry Naruhaya—earning a disheveled “Hey!” from your boyfriend and a loud laugh from you.

Naruhaya also likes lying down on your thighs, using your legs as a pillow. He laps up your attention like a pampered cat on your lap, humming contently to himself whenever your fingers comb through his fluffy hair and lull him into dozing off. It’s a quiet reprise for him to enjoy in between the hectic moments of his day, and you often find yourself staying at his house late into the night because you can’t bring yourself to move from your position. Naruhaya becomes so apologetic for keeping you stuck when he does wake up, but you don’t mind. You think it’s cute to see him so sleepy, and you like fiddling with his hair and rubbing your thumbs over every inch of his face while he steals a catnap.

You know how much soccer means to him, so you promise to support his endeavors to the very end. While you might not be an expert, you insist on taking care of siblings while he’s out practicing or lending you your handkerchief so he can wipe his sweat from his forehead. He might not have a professional managerial team to further his career like some of the rich youth players might, but you do your best so that he doesn’t feel like he’s lagging behind. It makes you proud to see him doing all he can to make his dream come true, and as long as your heart beats with all the love you have for him, you want these golden sunlit days to continue far into the future.

“Huh? Did you buy me a sports drink again? You really don’t need to do that for me, you know! I can take care of myself. NOA has convinced Ego to exempt you from his swordplay drills, saying that without previous experience, you’d be more of a burden than a help. You feel guilty lazing around your rooms and watching Reo and all the others slave away in the courtyard, so you wander into the extensive library and begin rummaging around.

After a week or so, you’ve gotten bored enough and decided to explore, where you come across a secret passageway built into a tiny bookshelf crammed into the back wall. It’s covered in dust and cobwebs, untouched by everyone for ages, and although some rationality says to stop, something tantalizing beckons you further. At the end of the winding passage is a tiny room, hardly big enough for you to stand upright. On an altar is a book bound in leather the color of burnished gold, untouched by the layers of time. Touching it feels like the world stutters around you.

You quickly withdraw your hand and leave, making sure there’s no trace of your presence, but when you arrive back in your room that night, the very same book is lying on your pillow. The only way that’s possible is if someone saw you (impossible, you would have gotten asked about it) or… Magic?

NESS is, after all, the court Magician, so you ask him about spellbooks at breakfast one day. He scowls, in the middle of a bite. “Most of what you’re describing died out with the dragons. No spellbook follows you around, God, what are you talking about? Magic is practical now, not some stupid airy-fairy incantations, because again, dragons. Nobody knows how to do it anymore.” He finishes his tea and shoots you a glance. “Why are you asking?”

You lie and say you just wanted to make conversation, then offer him his handkerchief back. He seems surprised that you still have it, given the collapse of your home kingdom and such, but doesn’t refuse. Wrapping up a piece of apple cake, he carefully tucks it in his pocket and stands. He wouldn’t be completely opposed to teaching you some basic spells, he adds, almost as an afterthought. You might as well have some use if you’re going to be tangled up in all of this anyways.

REO hardly ever sees you these days. He’s up before dawn, taking long runs around the forests, then practices battle all day long: duels on foot and horseback, archery, endless drills (and gutted training dummies). After dark, he studies maps and discusses strategies and politics long into the night. He’s matured from the carefree prince; now you can see a wise and noble king in his silhouette. Still, you worry about overwork and stress taking their toll on him.

After a midnight astrology session with Ness, you find yourself in the kitchen. How long has it been since you last cooked anything? Before you met Reo, which was… Hardly a month ago. It seems like so much longer. Your hands find themselves tying an apron around your waist, slicing beef and vegetables, wrapping herbs in cheesecloth and boiling broth. When you hear Reo return from his run, you rush to meet him with a steaming bowl of beef stew. He adores fatty steak and while you might not have the know-how to make that, you can at least make sure he’s fed.

He stares at you for a second before giving you a bone-crushing hug and simply holding you for a while. You relax into his chest and let him, even though the bowl is burning your fingertips.

CHIGIRI seems to pop up more often than usual ever since you’ve taken to cooking more. You’ve just pulled your third attempt at franz buns out of the oven when he sidles up to the window and begins eyeing the sweet, cinnamonny bread. He’s been nonstop riding and carrying all sorts of messages, he explains, mouth full already, that he hasn’t even had time to stop for a hot meal.

You roll your eyes and begin scooping him a bowl of spatzle noodles, telling him to use the door if he’s hungry. He all but collapses at the table, thanks you for the food, and falls asleep with his head balanced on his hands not long after. You sigh–he must be very tired now if he’d do that without a bath, even. You drape your spare cloak over him and quietly leave, not noticing his small smile after. When you return the next day, there’s a present addressed to you: a set of gloves from the next territory over embroidered with protective runes.

RAICHI bursts into your room the exact day you’ve finally managed to gather the courage and open the spellbook up to try and puzzle out what’s going on. It doesn’t seem to activate any of the runes on Chigiri’s gloves, at least, but you still start guiltily when he barges in. He’s buzzing with excitement, too wound up to notice you shove the book under some papers and shut the drawer.

Ego has declared them ready to ride back and retake the kingdom, he shouts, waving his dagger around and almost gutting the wall. Finally, his years of boring old guard duty have come to an end and he can see some real action. Girls love that sort of thing, don’t they? He’s leaving with the rest of the company in two days’ time, you’re coming, aren’t you? And, uh, sorry about the wall…

SAE doesn’t seem surprised to see you. It’s an unusually warm spring in the mountains, although it’s far colder than it was in Munchen still, and snow is piled against the walls and on roofs everywhere. He takes a small party of you, Reo, Ego, and Noa to show the cave he’s found and pinpointed as the source of the dragon.

All the earthquakes, although extremely inconvenient for him, have uncovered the den of a young dragon, still sleeping peacefully. You nearly collapse at the strength of the magic in the air and he has to rush you back to the surface before something else happens. Fortunately, the clear air does you some good and gives you a little more time to read the spellbook that’s somehow found itself under your pillow, despite your certainty that you left it in Munchen… Maybe it’s got something about dragons in it?

✦✧✦✧𐂃✧✦✧✦ 

KUNIGAMI, escaped from the JFA usurpers, explains to everyone that things are getting dire in the city. With no interests except money and endless parties, infrastructure has fallen to the wayside. In just a few short months, food and wood have become scarce, the guards have become increasingly unsatisfied as wages have been delayed countless weeks, and trade with other kingdoms has slowed to a trickle. Even the workers tending the sacred gardens on the palace grounds, usually so respected, have been harassed. Buratsuta, leader of the  insurgents, has openly contemplated chopping the trees down to make room for a new set of rooms.

Kunigami offers you tea for your headache and doesn’t say much else, nor smile; so different from the kind soldier you used to know. Grimly, Reo declares that plans have been moved up: the trees aren’t just symbolic, but one of the last remnants of draconic magic to exist anywhere in the world. The dragon, like it or not, ready or not, will wake tomorrow.

HIYORI, with assistance from Anri, is the one who descends into the dragon’s lair and coaxes it to wakefulness. It takes them nearly a full day to drag it out, but fortunately it’s docile enough that it settles down in the large cart with little complaints, then goes back to snoozing. It must be a young one, as fully grown, these creatures can reach larger than most buildings.

After covering its black-and-silver scales with strategically arranged blankets, you board another wagon and set off to the capitol. The journey, already difficult enough the first time you made it, is even moreso now, as more criminals patrol the roads. Hiyori, having heard about your dizzy spell the first time you met the dragon, is understandably cautious when taking you to see it again, but something about the fresh air keeps any further fainting at bay, much to his secret disappointment.

 NIKO leads the way back to the capital city under the cover of night. The dragon seems content to mostly doze and devour wild hogs at an alarming rate. In the outskirts of the city, you hole up in an abandoned warehouse on the docks and wait for the day to pass. Niko goes out to scope the situation and comes back later with good news: the citizens seem uneasy and on edge from the unexpected earthquake earlier (that was your fault, whoops) combined with the new government.

You settle down to look over your spellbook again while everyone else sleeps the afternoon away, but Niko settles next to you and asks if you’re alright. Truthfully, all this stress has been far too tiring, but before you can answer, you feel the familiar tug of magic, but not from the dragon this time: from your spellbook. WHen you look at him like that and beg him not to tell anyone else, you’re so close to figuring it all out, they’re under too much stress without worrying about out-of-control magic already… Now he realizes why people are so weak to puppy dog eyes.

BACHIRA, although he’s not leading the charge, is the one who manages the dragon, running full tilt through the streets and dragging the rope leash behind him. The dragon sleepily stumbles along, belching the occasional puff of smoke, and you hurry closely behind it, trying to keep your book under control.

It’s started glowing now and you swear there’s a faint sound of bells every time you ruffle through the pages… which have just started to fluff themselves with no help from you! You can’t even blame it on the wind because there really isn’t any! One particularly loud chime catches his ear and he turns around. “That sounds like what summoners play before trying to summon things.” His eyes bore into yours. “Can you feel that?”

ISAGI is the first to realize the magic storm that’s whipped up out of nowhere. His first instinct is to look for you, but the wind (where did that come from?) pushes him back. You’re barely half a city block away from him, but the hot air saturated with power sparks mirages, sending your silhouette rippling and twisting into new things. Inside the hurricane, you struggle to keep control over your book, ancient writing suddenly becoming readable and whipping itself off the page.

Your hands burn hot where the runes on your gloves are, glowing a flickering blue-white and keeping you from being overwhelmed with the magic in the air. You can taste it, too, a thick layer that makes the air heavy with the promise of something more. The dragon perks up away, and then throws its head back and roars. For a second, everything stops, then the road gives way and you’re falling. Faintly, you can hear Isagi screaming for you before something else drowns out your panic.

BAROU, locked in the prisons on the castle grounds, manages to smash his way out when the guards are distracted by the sandstorm you called. He doesn’t exactly know the details, but what he does know is that anyone who gets you hurt will die, painfully, by his hand. When he does make it, which doesn’t take much time because the storm’s been moving ever-closer to the castle, he can see you struggling to keep upright in the middle of everything, screaming or mouthing (the wind’s too loud to tell) some kind of spell as runes try and tear you apart.

There’s a dragon, for whatever godforsaken reason, watching, and when he’s about to step in, it roars and the buildings surrounding it collapse. He staggers out of what used to be a very nice townhouse as the dust clears, and two very important things are gone. Firstly, what happened to the dragon, but most importantly, where are you?

TOKIMITSU is under a lot of stress: the new rulers want him to destroy the ancient dragon groves, you’ve disappeared without a trace after the coup, and now there was just a hugely impactful disaster just outside the castle walls. He hurries to the grove to try and calm the trees down and almost drops his (lit) lantern when he gets there.

You stand, submerged up to your elbows in bark, forehead pressed to the tallest tree in the grove. When you pull away, the scent of magic remains. He’s only heard of what just happened: the legends of blessings by dryads in the age of dragons are true, and now you are one who wields the most powerful magic, thought to be extinct for centuries. This time, he really does drop the lantern and bow. You are ethereal and regal and otherworldly.

KURONA has been laying low this entire time. WIth Niko gone and the rest of the Royal Guards in disarray, he’s been doing just fine pinching food from the larder and using the secret passages to get around. There’s quite a bit of evidence he’s gathered, enough to indict all the JFA members beyond a shadow of a doubt. When he hears screaming, cursing, and the door lock, that’s his cue to step away form the spyglass he’s been using to keep track of everything outside.

He slides the hidden panel open, steps into the JFA headquarters room, and arrests them all for treason under the name of Prince Reo, rightful heir to the throne. None of the JFA seem all that eager to test him, starting over his shoulder at– What? There’s a fully grown dragon outside the window with someone clutching its neck? Please let that be you and please let you be safe.

✦✧✦✧𐂃✧✦✧✦ 

YUKIMIYA finds you sprinting out of the castle gate, covered in spell fragments orbiting your hands and head. You grab his hand and run toward the dragon, which is now as tall as the castle itself, pointing and saying something he can hardly hear over the noise. Eventually, he gets the gist about what has happened and rushes to find the others and send backup to the castle. Their small squadron finds the room, courtesy of some subtle yet distinct signs left by Kurona and the JFA (and Niko’s scouting, which included chatting to some of the servants), and completes the arrests, meeting up with Barou along the way.

The whole thing takes less than twenty minutes, after which they all go outside to survey the destruction they left the others to handle. The sun is just beginning to rise when you finally convince the dragon to calm down enough and tuck its wings in so it doesn’t smash any more than it already has. He grabs your hand and points up at the dragon: it looks like there’s someone there?

NARUHAYA pops up, a tiny figure on the dragon’s neck, and with the sun’s glare, you aren’t sure who it is before he yells your name. He waves so excitedly he nearly falls off, pointing and saying something to the dragon who gently bends down to let him off. You haven’t seen your friend in what feels like ages, and he suddenly appears with a dragon?

He’s so excited he can hardly talk: After you left, he found an apprenticeship in the capitol. Fortunately, he was far enough out that he was safe during the uprising. He worried about you all winter! When you finally did turn up (and who else would it be but you with Prince Reo and a dragon), he rushed to help under the guise of making a delivery but got kinda buried under some rubble. It’s okay though, because the dragon helped him out! His name’s Gagamaru, by the way and- Huh? Yeah, he can understand the dragon, it’s speaking like a regular human being! Naruhaya takes in all your shocked expressions. Oh, is that not the case? Wait, if he can understand the dragon, does that make him magical like you?

GAGAMARU has been asleep for a long time, so he’s not quite caught up with the customs. Naruhaya shows him (in human form) around, insisting on bringing you along for help navigating. Gagamaru can see why: your magical signature reminds him of past ages and the gentle glow attracts people around you, even if humans can’t see it.

You seem happy to explore with them, endlessly curious about his magic: How does it work? What’s the best thing he’s done? Is there anything that he can’t do? It’s been several hundred years since a truly magic dragon was last spotted, apparently, with most “dragons” being glorified large lizards chargrilling livestock. It’s awfully lonely being the last one, but with you it’s not so bad.

NAGI is having a hard time finding a quiet place to nap ever since your group has returned. Every single one of his favorite nooks around the castle has been taken by traveling scholars, visiting diplomats, and curious magicians, all bustling with hectic energy. Reo assured him that it would calm down in a few weeks, but he’s still sneezing nonstop at the scent of magic and bumping into frantic scribes at every second bend.

Now more than ever he’s needed: to help load and haul away debris; unload and set up temporary shelters; direct citizenry to and fro. It’s all a huge pain when all he wants to do is lay down for a while, preferably with his head in your lap, and just laze the days away. Promise you’ll find some time to do that while it’s still warm? It’s barely summer, but things aren’t showing any signs of slowing down.

EGO is more than satisfied with the outcomes of the counter-coup. Perhaps a bit too satisfied–he showed up two days after you, hasn’t stopped grinning for the whole week, and holed up in the castle’s library, dictating long and detailed reports to his newly conscripted secretaries and sending them to all the highest-ranking magicians in the world.

You’ve heard rumors he’s even starting work on a book, although when you ask he snorts and replies that he doesn’t have the effort to waste on something so superfluous, would you be willing to have him experiment a few things instead? For the future of the kingdom, you are the linchpin in reviving and reshaping the magical world.

Pick your allies wisely and your lovers even more so, because jealousy has done many a terrible thing to good and honest men.

You busted into your room, finally getting the boys to agree to what you had proposed. "LADIES!" you smiled as you called for them, Fumiko snarling and the other two looking over curiously. "I just got us a chance... To do team building exercises!" The confidence you had in yourself now that you had the boys agree was overflowing.

"Sounds boring." Fumiko spat, going back to doing her hair. Yet she complains that you're buttering up the boys...

"I think it sounds fun.." Rei responded. How sweet At least she had the sense of mind to know this would help them all in the long run,

"Well fine! You two girls come meet me and boys when you're ready." You stuck your tongue out at Fumiko, knowing damn well she couldn't see. Then you forced yourself to walk away without a silly comment... Damn.. Bachira really was rubbing off on you... Freaky.

"Alright Guys.. y/ns here, listen up!" Koun rounded up the troops for you, although most them groaned. Yes because how dare we practice acting like a team. Raichi rolled his eyes and snarled, Isagi standing between Kunigami, and Bachira hanging on Isagi like a damned monkey.

"Alright!" You clapped your hands once before clearing your throat. "I know this is the last thing you all want to do, but! Remember, despite what Ego says, if your team doesn't pass to you... You have to steal the ball, and that can be tough to do alone. Now, I know I am taking away from valuable practice time and your next match is coming up and we are pinned against the wall... So I combined practice and team building!" You raised your hands to do jazz hands, just to emphasize your point. No one said anything, if anything they seemed to all frown more than they were before. Minus Bachira, who was offering a thumbs up.

"First... Let's start with just... Sharing how we think of how we're getting the ball!" You tried to salvage what little attention of theirs you had left.

"Just get the damned ball." Raichi said with a annoyed eye roll. You tried not to glare. Yes... Get the damned ball.. but how!? The question was how! You swore these boys barley passed their classes.

"I imagine it as a girl, who's standing all pretty just waiting for me to swipe her up!" Imamura said, holding a thumbs up looking proud of himself.

"Do you have a girl friend?" You dead panned, watching as his hand slowly fell to his side.

"No.." he responded, looking embarrassed now.

"And that's why. Now! Let's try another thing because this... Is not working. Although, good try Mura!" You gave the boy some comfort.. or at least you hoped. "Alright.., let's work on passing! You all will paid up, yes one of you will sit on the slide lines, and

Pass to eachother. I will play goalie."

"So really we don't even have to try?" Igarashi said, resiving a slap in the back of the head from Kunigami.

You ignored his comment, just thinking to yourself. One day, one day he's not gonna be able to score with you as goalie.. and you will rub it in his face.

"Alright! should I pair y'all up or can you pair yourselves up.... You know what actually, I am gonna pair you up!" You hummed before looking between each boy... Well shit, now you had no idea where to go...

"Can I ?" You heard a voice behind you, Brownie, Or Keiko really. She and Rei had walked in silently, hiding somewhat behind you. You nodded, you didn't mind giving her a chance.. mainly speaking because you had no idea where to start with pairing them up.

"Umm... Kunigami with Raichi.... Naruhaya with Imamura, Igarashi with Bachira.. Gagamaru with Chigiri..Isagi with Kuon" She continued, you were shocked, why in the world.. what were these pairings!? But you let her,.. give her chance you supposed.

"well then..... Line up in pairs... Rei will throw the ball in and I will act out as a goalie, again I know it's easy to score on me, however! To pass this test you need to atleast pass the ball three times between you." You held up a thumbs up, sending them off.. or you think you did. You ran to the goalie box before any could respond physically or verbally. Keiko moved with you, standing to the slightly. The boys in turn moved to the other end of field, a little confused.

"How did you choose to pair them up?" You asked, getting ready to block.. although you knew that if you did end up blocking anything, it would be from luck.

"Based on who I've never seen pass to eachother in practice and such.." she crossed her arms infront of her. The first pair, Naruhaya and Imamura were thankfully actually trying here. Rei threw the ball, Imamura getting to it and he passed to Naruhaya rather adamantly.

"What? Why?" You questioned, Naruhaya kicked the ball, and it flew right  over your head before you could react. Imamura smiled before they both ran back to the other end... At least that pairing worked out.

"When you work with someone who you don't know, you have to find ways to adapt,, it also helps build bonds through the team... They make friends, friends are already friends with others and in the end it's a whole friend group.

"HEY!! Pass the ball she said we have to get atleast three passes!" Kunigami shouted before you could respond. Raichi had the ball, and was running it down your way.

"Who cares!?!? In the actually game it doesn't matter how many passes you complete, just matters if ya score!" Raichi kicked the ball, and this time it was headed straight for your head. You ducked down, covering your head with your arms yelping.

"Now that's how you win!" Raichi exclaimed, smiling proudly. You uncurled yourself and frowned towards Raichi.

"Correct, that's also how you gets benched. Kunigami your new partner is Imeon. " Imeon had sat out on the sidelines for a little due to the uneven number. Imeon had gotten up and nodded to Kunigami, who thankfully nodded back.

"I was hoping pair up Raichi with Kunigami would force him to accept that passing is part of the game,.." Keiko said,looking down disappointed that her pairing hadn't worked out the way she planned.

"It's alright,,, just give him some time he's gotta learn eventually." Just like a pet. Consistency is key... Keep forcing exercises that make him pass, and he will eventually fall into line, from therem practice went on just fine, passes were made, you didn't block a single goal, Raichi was scowling in the corner. You took notenof everything. How Koun every time would make sure he got the ball first, then would pass to Isagi. How Bachira would often make unnecessary turns as though he was moving around another person. But everyone seemed to be putting in effort... Everyone minus Chigiri.

As practice wrapped up, the boys funneled out. Talking with eachother. Naruhaya and Imamura had walked out together, still talking. You watched as Keikos eyes lit up with joy, atleast one pairing worked out. The other girls followed, Fumiko no where to be found. All who was left.,, was Chigiri. Sitting down and stretching. Once the door closed you walked over to him.

"Why don't you try?" You started, plain and simple, straight to the point.

"I do," it was obvious it was a lie, he didn't even care to open his eyes. You sat Infront of him as he stretched.

"So then you just suck at soccer?" You raised an eyebrow, seeing the way his jaw tensed. He stretched his right leg, taking extra care to truly stretch it,,, you had seen enough injuries from your old managing experience. People would always be extra careful surrounding the injury.

"I don't." He responded, Leaving no further explanation.

"Chigiri....you don't put in any effort... You don't try to score and you give up the ball so willingly." You tilted your head to the side, the boy finally opening his eyes.

"Didn't you say that in order to be a striker people need to pass to you? I am just one of those people." He narrowed his eyes, before folding his body forward to stretch further.

"Blue lock is made for strikers though... Ego said it in the introduction ceremony. Why did you come here.. if you were just gonna give up?" You lightened your voice, curiosity was the only thing that guided your words right now.

"I am looking for the reason to give up." He replied, sending another glare your way.

"Because you got hurt?" He didn't answer after that, he stayed silent. Which just confirmed it for you.

"Chigiri... Getting hurt only momentarily puts you behind. But you let it feed, and it will hold you back forever.." you traded carefully, not to hit the nerve, but to gently pull at it.

"What's the point? I tore my ACL... The doctor says if it happens again... Then I won't be able to play again." His voice was harsh, but quite still. Carried by the silence of the field.

"And your playing now? You don't play chigiri, you just stand there being another body." Harsh words... But they were needed. "Your scared of not being able to play again... But your not playing now either. Your letting yourself...." You paused. This could be harsh. He could walk away... He could yell. You got up and offered your hand to him, which he took. "Do you control the injury, or does the injury control you?" You said as you both walked towards the door. Picking up a water bottle and handing it to him.

"I contr-"he started but you cut him off

"Don't tell me... Show me." You ended it there. Walking with him back to your separate rooms, which were right across the hall from eachother thankfully.

Before he could enter the room where he and others stayed, you left him with one last thing. "People rely on you chigiri... Please don't let them down."

SHIDOU’S VER KARASU’S VER

2ND SELECTION(ISAGI’S VERSION)

Y/N entered the room and looked around for any of her teammates. 

She spotted Isagi and Bachira standing in the middle. She walked over and Bachira asked if she’d join their team.

She agreed and they walked into the 3rd stage.

Y/N wasn’t expecting to see blue locks best player there yet, though she should’ve assumed. 

Ego then appeared on the screen and explained the rules. Everyone’s number was updated, Y/Ns was ranked 19. She was pleased with that number, and felt smug that she surpassed so many boys. 

Rins team was the only one there so everyone agreed on going against them. 

The game started and Isagi was able to make a goal with ease. 

Rin was at kickoff and shot right into the goal. Nobody expected that. 

The game didn’t get much better from there, Y/N and her team lost 5-2. 

She was in shock. They had lost, how??

It was time for Rins team to pick who they wanted to join their team. Tokimistu and Aryu picked. Aryu pointed his index finger ‘come on.. Meguru Bachira’ .

And with that Bachira left with the top 3. 

Y/N and Isagi were frustrated. What were they gonna do? If they loose again it’s the end of the road for one of them. 

They shuffled to the losers gate and sat down. 

She asked Isagi what he wanted to do, rest for a bit or go look for another match.

Isagi started talking about if they lost the next game, he wouldn’t be picked, how Y/N would be picked and his soccer career would be over.

Y/N grabbed his cheeks firmly with her hand. ‘Shuddup you moron. We won’t lose, We won’t lose.’ She asserted, tone firm. ‘You can’t go into the game with a shitty mindset like that, pull yourself together. idiot’

Isagi stared at Y/N, she let go of his face. He shook his head lightly ‘M’kay, your right’ he grinned softly. ‘course I am, I’m freaking Y/N L/N. Now, what are we gonna do?’ Y/N had her hands on her hips looking at resting room. 

The sliding doors opened revealing Barou and Naruhaya. Y/N asked if they’d play against her and Isagi.

Barou agreed in his Barou way ‘I’ll crush you so bring it on anytime’

Isagi reminded her that they have now wait 24 hours till they can play their next game.

They walked to their new room , Y/N took the top bunk and Isagi took the bottom.

They showered, trained, then went to bed. 

They ate breakfast together and then trained. Isagi helped her try to shoot in guarded spaces, Y/N helped him try to perfect his goal formula. They then did individual training and headed to the field. 

Y/N kicked off the ball and went up againsts barou, he rammed into her, making her loose her balance and took the ball and scored.

Woops, that wasn’t how she planned that to go. 

That goal was out of his shooting range, Barou has evolved since last time she played against him. 

Isagi passed to Y/N and she was able to move past Naruhaya easily. She was closer to the goal and Barou was about to steal the ball. She high kicked the ball and shot it into the goal perfectly.

She was very pleased with that goal.

It was 1-1 and Barou started it off.

Isagi stole the ball and passed to Y/N. Naruhaya came from nowhere and was about the get the ball. 

Y/N shot her leg up and caught it, Isagi ran to the other side of the goal. She passed to Isagi since he was at a better angle. He shot it but it hit the rim and spinned back towards Naruhaya and Y/N.

She shot it back into the goal.

She was on fire this match (Heh Y/Ns so kewl)

If they scored another point the game would be over. 

Though, right at kickoff Barou shot into the goal but hit the rim. Naruhaya was able to catch it and passed back to him. Barou then shot it back into the goal.

Isagi almost made a goal but it got blocked.

He had the ball and was being guarded by Naruhaya so he passed to Y/N. She was able to make and easy goal. The score was now 3-3.

Barou then did the same and scored another goal.

Y/N was able to score a hat trick goal from the halfway line.

The game was back at a tie, the next point will be the decisive factor.

Barou took a shot from the halfway line, it hit the rim and flew out. Naruhaya got the ball and tried to make a goal but missed.

Y/N stole the ball from Naruhaya and passed to Isagi

Isagi sprinted away from and got the ball and made an incredible, sneaky goal behind Barous back. 

And with that, they had won the game.

Y/N and Isagi ran to each other and had an intense bro-five.

It was time to choose who they wanted to join them. The choice was pretty obvious. 

Isagi looked at Barou and told him to join them. 

Y/N went up to Naruhaya and was about to say something but decided against it. She just muttered a ‘good game and then turned on her heels and followed Isagi out. 

She felt bad for him, but she knows he doesn’t want her sympathy.

 

She grinned ear to ear as she skipped up beside Isagi. He smiled back at her ‘We did it’ they said in unison.

They all walked to their new room and talked about whose bed it whose. Y/N wanted the single bed but so did Barou. 

She really didn’t care enough to fight for it so she just rolled her eyes and climbed up the top bunk. 

They then walked to the training room. Barou was doing this insane routine, apparently he does it everyday. Isagi and Y/N looked at each other in shock. They then decided if they want to improve they should do that too. They trained their butts off .

After they showered and went to bed. 

They went over potential plays they could do, Barou was kinda on board.

Later Y/N took sometime to rest and took a nap.  Apparently during that time Isagi and Barou were showering and saw Kunigami, Chigiri and Reo. They decided to go against each other.

(Dawgs I can’t do this no more good golly- 😞😞)

The game ended with the score of 4-5.

Y/N was very happy they won, she was NOT gonna go back to the losers gate.

Now it was time to chose who they wanted. Y/N felt conflicted, she didn’t want to choose between Kunigami and Chigiri, they were both her friends. 

She let Isagi decide this one.

Isagi chose Chigiri with the fact that he’d help cause chemical reactions and give passes. 

Y/N looked at Kunigami and told him ‘you better not lose again mkay.’

They then walked to the Winners gate and headed from there to their new rooms. 

Barou and Isagi left to go eat so it was just Chigiri and Y/N in the room. 

They talked for a bit and then went into how their weapons have improved. Chigiri wanted to see how high she could kick now. He threw some shoes and random stuff at her to see if she could get it. 

Barou was not happy with the new mess they had made.

Then after Barou made them pick up the mess they all went to bed and got the well deserved rest.

They then saw Rin and his team and matched up. Everyone went over the plan, and headed to field.

(Dawg I quit. Nope nope.)

The game was neck and neck till the very end, Bachira scored the final goal. The game finished at 4-5. 

Y/N team had lost.

She didn’t think that gonna happen, she was so confident that’d they’d win.
