i just think about that narinder and lamb both can be jealous towards each other, and i sure love this hc, but i started thinking about why are they jealous.

let's begin with Narinder. you see, he basically lost everything he had just because he trusted the lamb. of course, his intention to wring their neck and kill them to regain his crown and power was also terrible; but that's how the world worked for him. his whole life is godhood, and this is the state he wanted to stay in forever. and Narinder also saw no point in changing anything, because why? for what purpose? but then vessel to which Narinder had entrusted his power and the crown took it all for themself, deciding to betray Narinder in front of his own eyes. and all this happened after his siblings had locked him in the afterlife for thousands of years, stabbing him in the back. his whole life before joining the cult was, in fact, a series of losses - he lost trust in his family, lost the opportunity to move freely, lost the opportunity to socialize (and just live), then lost his power, and finally his divinity. oh boy, that must have been traumatic for you, right?

if we talk about the lamb, then let's assume that they lived for some time with those who took care of them. because if there were no such people, they would not have lived to the conscious age at which they died because of the sacrifice. but let me remind you – the bishops killed all sheeps in the world. including the lamb's family too. it's a huge, HUGE loss trauma that they can't do anything about. this can be seen even in the game – look at the animation when the lamb sacrifices Ratau to the fox. they cry, instantly regretting their decision. unlike Narinder, their concept of family is closer to the mortal. it could have been something warm and safe that was taken from them, and very, very cruelly.

so when they finally acquire peace and love in each other, it is obvious that they will be in protective mode for a long time, because they simply cannot bear to lose something that brings them happiness and that they got with such great difficulty.

their hearts would burst with pain.

long story short: they would fucking die if one of them had gone to someone else or if something bad had happened to one of them😜😜😜

Is this my best comic ever?? Nope. Do I think I characterized either of these two particularly well in this comic?? Not really. Did I spend an unreasonable amount of time on it to the point that it would be a waste to not post it?? Yes, yes I did.

I really committed to this one, spent a lot of time on those backgrounds and treated myself to ample suffering with the perspective, which is not my strong suit but I am happy with how it ultimately looks. Yay perspective and background practice!!

(Tbh I shouldn't talk like I think this one sucks, I think I've just been staring at it for so long that my brain has decided it's not good and it's actually way better than I think it is, and honestly I am quite happy with it. The artistic process really is something, isn't it?)

The inspiration was basically me reminding... myself... to take breaks sometimes... by drawing for several hour stints during my only little bits of free time. Which totally tracks. Probably. But I've been rolling around in my brain this idea that Lambert is a very uptight people pleaser and anxious workaholic, but Narinder, at least since adjusting himself to the circumstances (which probably took at least a century, maybe two) has discovered the joys of self care, and has made an active effort to chill tf out. This has not made him any less terrifying to the cultists (save for Lambert's closest disciples), nor has it made him friendlier to really anyone but Lambert (and maybe his siblings), but he sure has found some serious peace of mind. That said, I can't place what his motivations are here. Perhaps he is secretly concerned about Lambert's sanity, because he doesn't want them to turn into what he was, or maybe he's just trying to steal away some quality time with his one and only friend, but regardless of the reason, I spent too much time on this for nobody to see it, dang it.

That said. Enjoy this silly little comic that I spent way too much time on, and I hope this silly comic brings you some joy today.

I really want to draw an alternate comic for 'what if the Lamb agreed to sacrifice themselves' for Trod AU because that Narinder, if he revives them right after, would be so completely stoked on his freedom he's a rapidly bouncing atom next to a stun locked Lamb

So imagine: It's the gateway temple room, followers are celebrating the arrival of Death himself. Aym and Baal emerge also freed along with him. All is loud cheering and laughing as the Lamb stands there dumbfounded because aren't they supposed to be dead? The One Who Waits is laughing, there's deathly power flowing through the air it's almost practically visible, it's bright and light and everyone is ecstatic.

Then Narinder, still considered 'The One Who Waits and God of Death' by all followers and who is currently off his shits, picks up the Lamb in a spin, wildly laughing about his freedom, and then dips them in a kiss.

In the famous 'Sailor kiss photograph' type of way. Dude doesn't even think about it just goes for it. Consequences pending.

I also feel like I have more lore for my followers than these two smh, I got a priest disciple bat that gives dad energy that is friend with EVERYONE in the cult (except Aym lmao) and he has a biological daughter and son that were born in the cult, THE DAMN GIRL ASKED ME TO RESCUE HER "sister" FROM DARK WOOD AND LATER THE ADOPTED SISTER WENT "oh save my brother" and just because I'm petty I turned him into those foxes with long ass ears lol (there is also their uncle Wich the bat dad asked me to rescue)

Me rambling about ideas ⬇️

I made a hight chart that is for the most part based on the bishops animal size.

I feel like lamb was severely malnourished before dying to the bishops probably from being hunted, not finding food often, ect.

Anyway what I was getting at was lamb was like 4,6ft. tall and very small for the regular stature of sheep before getting pumped with crown juice.

Now they’re a giant with sharper aspects that a sheep wouldn’t have.

(Also I made lambert taller than narinder’s follower form bc it’s funny to have an egotistical god have a complex about being short ;o) .)

Ok hear me out: Narilamb but they're both aroace and in a qpr.

I've been rolling around in my head for like a long long time this idea that Narinder and Lambert could both be aroace and (after like. A couple of centuries or so) end up in this like very comfortable very close relationship that neither of them define as anything specific other than calling it a "companionship". But on the other hand most of the cult thinks that they're dating in secret or something despite the fact that both of them have said they don't take lovers, because they are clearly very tight but maybe not super openly so, so maybe the cultists thing they're being secretive and hiding something or something like that. Idk but my aroace brain loves thinking about extremely close (mostly) platonic relationships and for some reason my brain decided hmm. I'm going to take this and throw it at Narilamb and see how I like it.

So then I decided to make a ridiculous joke comic about Narinder asking Lambert's hand in marriage specifically because he wants to get out of paying taxes. Because like, I know that spouse followers do actually still have to pay taxes in the actual game but. Hey Narinder and Lambert have presumably never married so they probably don't know that...? Honestly the only reason I made this was because the concept tickled me and I spent too much time on this for no one to see it, so. This comic and all it's absolute ridiculousness be upon ye.

While there's a tiny part of me that's been thinking about making this into an AU (which I'd probably call something like the "Strictly Platonic AU" or something), I know for a fact that I would blatantly not do anything legitimate with it so. It's an unofficial AU I guess?? But. Anyways. I thought this would be funny. Enjoy my ramblings and I hope you enjoy this thing that I spent. Actual time on. Lol

Actually, my Narilamb never really Narilamb'ed until many years post-game. As it stands currently, Lamb is desperate to put their faith in a higher being because it's too scary to do it all by themselves. They know something's not right with their codependency on The One Who Waits, but they have no one else they could properly confide in with their troubles.

The One Who Waits couldn't really care about Lamb as a person, but he DOES care about them as a tool that "fate promised him" since his impatience started to reach its peak once the prophesy started coming true.

Well... that's not entirely true. He does care about Lamb a bit, but only because they reminded him of someone significant once upon a time.

By the way... who's THEM ?
