Be it be the issue of salaries for priests and clergy members in Delhi or Modi and Kejriwal asking each other to retrospect their inner self,in this high voltage season 4 of Delhis assembly election things have taken a surprising turn. Recently, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal announced that if his party comes to power in Delhi, they will provide a monthly salary of ₹18,000 to temple priests and gurdwara granthis . However, there is no mention of salaries for priests of temples and clergy's of mosques being stopped in Delhi. In fact, the Delhi Government had previously been providing financial assistance to Imams and Maulvis of mosques. However, it appears that Hindu priests and Pujaris were not receiving similar benefits, sparking controversy and allegations of unequal treatment. Kejriwal's announcement is seen as an attempt to woo the Hindu vote bank ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections. The AAP has released candidates for all 70 seats in Delhi, and the party is seeking to retain power in Delhi for a third time .The debate raises important questions about the role of the state in supporting religious institutions and the principles of secularism. While some argue that the state should not favor one religion over another, others believe that providing salaries to religious leaders is a way of promoting social welfare and community development. Apart from all this few days back fresh war of words between Modi and Kejriwal has intensified ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), prompting a strong response from Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal retaliated by labeling the BJP as "directionless" in the capital, lacking leadership and relevant issues ¹. Kejriwal emphasized his government's achievements, particularly in education, and contrasted them with the BJP's unfulfilled promises. He also accused the BJP of neglecting Delhi's Purvanchali community and failing to deliver on housing development and ownership rights ¹. The clash between Modi and Kejriwal in the war of words in the delhi election season along with AAP's tall promise of salaries for temple priests ,gurdwara granthi’s / mosque imams will resonate with voters needs to be seen .With New Delhi being India’s Capital city and Delhi being the state both parties are vying for power, the rhetoric is likely to escalate in the coming days. Stay Tuned to season 4 of Delhis election to witness who is the Big Boss of Season 4

3% DA Hike for Govt Employees
The central government has declared a 3% rise in dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for more than a crore employees and pensioners to alleviate the effects of inflation. This adjustment elevates the total DA from 50% to 53%, which will be applied in addition to the basic salary. The decision to implement this increase was reached during a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi this morning.
This new rate will be effective from July 1, 2024. The announcement, made just weeks before Diwali, provides significant relief to central government employees during the festive season.
In a government statement, it was noted, “This increase adheres to the accepted formula based on the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
The government stated that the increase in DA and DR would benefit roughly 49.18 lakh central government employees and 64.89 lakh pensioners, but it would also cost the exchequer an extra Rs 9,448.35 crore annually.
Government workers receive DA, while pensioners receive DR as compensation for rising costs. This stipend, which is updated twice a year, is determined for industrial workers using the most recent consumer price index.

[ad_1] GG News Bureau New Delhi, 28th Nov. The Congress party on Thursday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government of focusing on manipulating inflation data rather than addressing the issue itself. Congress General Secretary for Communications Jairam Ramesh criticized the government for attempting to show low inflation figures through adjustments to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Wholesale Price Index (WPI), while ignoring the real-world impact on the public. Ramesh claimed that the inflationary pressures have been worsened by the government’s poor policy-making, resulting in high food, fuel, and daily goods prices. Despite global crude oil prices falling, he noted that petrol and diesel prices in India remain high, increasing transportation costs and affecting everyday services. He further alleged that the government was attempting to downplay food inflation by reducing the weightage of food items in the CPI, a move Ramesh described as “dishonest.” He argued that this would affect the incomes of millions, particularly government employees who would see a further decline in their dearness allowance and salary increments. Ramesh accused the Modi government of repeatedly manipulating data to mislead the public, citing the change of base years to inflate GDP growth rates, altering employment criteria to hide joblessness, and creating a “deceptive” poverty index to claim poverty reduction. He also criticized the government’s secrecy, citing the removal of fuel price comparison data from official websites and record profits made by oil companies. “In a government obsessed with propaganda and data manipulation, the welfare of the people is clearly not a priority,” Ramesh concluded. Bridging The Gender Gap in Technology
The G20 summit’s official engagement platform to promote gender equality- Women20 identifies bridging the digital gender gap among its top five priorities that found its place in the mainstream of the G20 agenda. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also emphasized the role of women-led development as India took the reins of the G20 presidency. The United Nations places gender equality as the fifth sustainable goal, to achieve this feat digital literacy for women is a prerequisite.
Elucidating on stats that reflect on the existing gender disparity, according to a recent UNICEF Report about 90% of jobs available today have a strong digital component. The same report indicates that only 41% of the female diaspora has access to the internet compared to 51% of the male population. The report also states that men have 1.8 times more chances to own a smartphone than women. A report by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development also signifies the widening gender gap when it comes to internet usage. The software development domain remains male-dominated with only 15% women. ICUBE did research on Indian internet user metrics in 2020, and the results are astonishingly skewed against women, with only 42% having access against 58% in the case of men. Citing another research by Women in Global Science & Technology, the STEM workforce in India is less than 13%. It is also a well-established fact that ability-related reasons do not account for this skewness.
Lack of role models, discouragement, domestic pressure, lack of well-designed departmental culture, lack of opportunities for married women, lack of leadership roles, and often neglected pre-conceived notions remain major roadblocks for opportunities for women in STEM. 74% of women engineers have reported that they have to constantly prove themselves continuously to get the same respect as their male counterparts. Married women have a dual burden, and a huge pool in this category drops out in their mid-career. They experience high roadblocks in career re-entry. So, most don’t opt for a long-term stem career.
This fight against gentle disparity must be fought from all fronts, families, educational institutions, corporates and governments. To achieve the feat of a sustainable society, concrete steps have to be taken. It is not only ethically imperative but a business priority as well. Corporates with gender-diverse execution teams are more likely to be more innovative and profitable. Bridging this skewness will bring fresh perspectives. A Mckinsey global report states that bridging the gender gap would add 12 to 28 trillion dollars to the global economy.
In the words of Poonam Muttreja- “Leveraging our demographic dividend will require the gender dividend of digital empowerment.” The most pragmatic decision could be developing favourable policies and schemes to provide momentum to digitally empower women. Steps are being taken by the government, be it self-help groups, small saving schemes, formal tax slabs for salaried women, micro-loans for female entrepreneurs or credit support. Still, we have “miles to go” to achieve significant inclusive growth.
