Last night I got tired. My voice was trembling. My head hurt. My soul ached. I was tired of feeling sad. I was tired of talking. I was frustrated by the dancers that benefit from there color but don’t stand up for it. But I thought about my friends. My other brown girls that do ballet. My other professional ballerinas of color. We need each other right now. We need to be there for our sisters. We are the only ones that know what goes on behind the curtain. We know what it’s like to not feel supported. I need for my image and presence to be normalized. I need support. I need allies. I need to talk about things. I need you to see your friends that are silent and making excuses. Their silence and excuses are forms of violence in this time. If you allow that to happen, you are participating in Perpetuating racism and keeping it alive because Tolerating racism is racism. #nardiaboodoo #browngirlsdoballet #blacklivesmatter #equality #unity 📸 @nisian
