This is a fun one, even when I had gone for a while without watching the sequence I still remember the lyrics and the CG Disco Keroro (they really got a lot of use out of that, didn't they?)
Also, surprisingly, the cover of the opening lines in the 100th episode, despite my only having watched it once or twice

man its so fucked up theres people who think goh hinogami and jean kujo dont fit virtua fighter some how. some will claim its "tekken influence" and im not here to argue dat they didnt bounce ideas off eachother all da time, they did and tekken to dis day still takes notes from VF in its systems, but what these people miss is everythin about tekken's aesthetic was already built upon things fount in virtua fighter. lion has always been there. jacky to an extent as well. how fashionable (and attractive) some of da characters are has always been an aspect of VF's style and expectin it to stay completely stagnant to fit your view of how they should interpret martial arts is ridiculous.
which brings me to another thing; in goh's case, in my opinion he really represents how martial artists were presented when they did pro wrestlin in japan. guys like naoya ogawa who was a world champion judoka, or kazunari murakami who was a crazy monster heel judoka, both ended up havin long careers in pro wrestlin dat closely resemble everythin about goh's character, especially how he keeps fuckin losin lol is very murakami esque. it wouldnt be da first time they drew influence from such a thing, jeffry mcwild is pretty much straight up just willie williams who competed in NJPW in da 80s. these people are discreditin da game they love and not even realizin it because theyre close minded

When I've recommended this show to people who are intimidated by the episode count, one thing I mention is there are only a handful of episodes you need to start with before you're able to watch pretty much any other episode in the show.
This being the karaoke track to Katte ni Shinryakusha reminded me of watching episode 100 for the first time, before I had heard one of the theme songs they referenced....and of Tamama singing the first line of this song (^.^')

History of the IWGP Heavyweight Championship – Part 2 | Origins
Following on from our greatly received first part, here is the much anticipated second part of The History of the #IWGP Heavyweight Championship - Part 2 | Origins #njpw
New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) had one of its biggest paydays on April 29th, 1996. On that Tokyo Dome Showcard, company savior Shinya Hashimoto defeated outside menace Nobuhiko Takada to recapture the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. With that victory, Hashimoto concluded one of the most lucrative storylines in the company’s history: he defeated the head of the outside invaders and saved NJPW and…
