Description: Wild west sci-fi Arthuriana. These three are in an established relationship by the time that Arthur becomes "Sheriff" of Camelot. He originally rejects her since he already has a girlfriend, but Minase makes a really good case for why she likes Mukai and how she'd be a great girlfriend and he, who develops emotional attachments in seconds, falls for her as well, but not wanting to cheat, they go ask Saki. She doesn’t like the idea at first, but then spends all of one day getting to know Minase and ends up liking her too. After that every single conflict and misunderstanding is resolved by the three of them loudly, bluntly, and emphatically communicating with each other and talking about their feelings.

Out of curiosity, who do you think is the better boyfriend: Naoya Mukai or Rentarou Aijou?

This is NOT meant to be a dunk on whichever boy ends up losing the poll. I'm not trying to say one is definitively better than the other. I'm just curious of your opinions on both boys! (I won't be tagging this as either series because I feel it might invite bias)

That said, I'd love to see any explanations for your opinion in the replies, as long as it's kept civil lmao. If the replies turn into a war, I'm just gonna delete the post, cus I don't want this to become a source of negativity. If anything I want it to be a place of praise for both of them!

Shino's knees shook as she tried to keep eye contact with her best friend Saki but it was so hard. It was especially hard with the white-haired girl's hand on Naoya Mukai's door and wearing one of her more risqué night gowns. It was sheer and terminated slightly above below her hips and the pale blue material did not hide the outline of her white panties as well as she hoped. This was NOT going to plan.

"Are you going to tell me this is not what it looks like?" Saki asked, her voice dropping an octave. Another sign that she was not happy. "Like you always do."

"It's not?" Shino offered, her facing heating up especially since there was no belief in her best friend's eyes.

"What are you up to? One of your 'study sessions'. How many times have you tried to sneak into his room? Is trying to sneak kisses when I’m not looking not enough for you?”

"Saki-san."

Nagisa Minase's voice was low but everyone was trained to hear it. The duo turned to see the sleepy, blue-eyed girl standing a few feet away trying to rub the sleep from her eyes.

"Nagisa-chan! I caught Shino...again!" Saki said triumphantly while gesturing.

Shino and Nagisa looked eyes locked and Shino tried to beg with her eyes for help.

"Did you ask her why she was going in?" Nagisa queried softly.

"To put it in! We all know how lewd she is!"

Nagisa gently shook her head making the dark hair sway.

"It is rude to assume something disrespectful of someone."

Saki folded her arms and looked expectantly at her best friend. Slowly, Shino moved her left hand from behind her back and held up a book.

"I...uh...borrowed one of Mukai-kun's light novels without permission and I was trying to sneak back in without him catching me. Thats all Sakisaki!"

Saki snatched the book, her own night gown swaying and flipped through the book pages with a crinkled nose.

"Eww, you read these?"

"I was bored and they looked...interesting." Shino responded with a deepening blush. This was embarrassing.

"You are a lewd pervert, aren't you?" Saki cackled with glee and tossed the book back. "Well, I'll let it pass for now but be a responsible girl and get the books in day light."

"But..."

Saki grinned wide. "What's worse? Getting a pervert book in the daytime or...me catching you again."

"I'll get any future books in the morning."

With that, the red head took off cackling back to the futons that she and Minase had been sharing. Shino feinted returning to her room but saw Nagisa give her the thumbs up before vanishing with her.

Silently, Shino opened Naoya’s door and glided in sliding it shut.

"Shino-chan!" Naoya hissed way too loudly from the bed. His head was the only thing showing from under the covers.

"Was that Saki-chan?" He asked worried.

"Yeah, she caught me," Shino gripped waving the book. "But the decoy worked. Nagisa-kun is going to get her back to sleep."

"Good!"

"It was humiliating. Now she thinks I'm into tentacles."

"I told you the book would work," he grinned. "Glad I grabbed it at the store."

Naoya threw back his blanket showing he was wearing his pajamas too but also uncovered the giant wicker basket he had hidden behind pillows.

With her other hand, Shino held out the grocery bag that Saki had not spotted and poured the little packages out on the bed.

"Yes!" Naoya said grabbing them and placing them around the other gifts the rest of the girls had gotten Saki.

There were the gummies from Shino, the gift cards to her favorite game from Rika, Nagisa had baked Saki's favorite bread rolls, and Naoya had added a necklace he had saved up for.

The young man and his girlfriends wanted to make sure the woman who gave them all a chance was treated like royalty tomorrow. Everyone deserved a good birthday and they were going to make sure she has it even if it meant Saki thought Shino was into tentacles.

Mirika growled as she stared at her phone. Watching her as she cooked dinner, Nagisa bit her lip and wrung her hands. She was a bit nervous to bother the girl when she was riled up, but the better part of her wanted to do her best to keep everyone’s spirits up. “What’s wrong, Mirika-san?”

Mirika turned toward her with crazed eyes. “I can’t go live and tell everyone I’m being four-timed. What am I going to do?”

Nagisa furrowed her brow. Personally, she didn’t care whatsoever about letting someone know the truth, but this involved Mirika’s online fame. “Why do you have to announce it?”

“How stupid are you?” Mirika spat. “I already told everyone I gave up on the guy I’m in love with. Plus, we’re all living together. It wouldn’t take long before each of you ends up shown on-stream, one way or another.”

“Oh,” Nagisa said quietly. That made sense. “It’s not such a bad thing, though, is it?”

Mirika gave an ugly laugh. “I mean, now that I’m doing it, I’ll admit it isn’t as bad as I imagined. But for my reputation, it’s definitely bad. I might as well just delete my account right now.”

“Don’t call it four-timing.”

“Yeah? And call it what, then?”

“Call it…” Nagisa’s voice trailed off as she was left without an answer. She knew there had to be one, though. “I don’t know, but I’ll find out!” She made a fist in determination. She didn’t think there was anything wrong with their situation and she was sure that there had to be other people out there who thought the same way.

About an hour later, Nagisa finally set her phone down and removed the pot roast she had left on the warm setting inside the oven. Silently, she dished out some food for the five of them. After doing so, she called out, “Guys, dinner’s ready! I also have some good news!”

Naoya came up and hugged her lightly. “Thanks, it smells delicious.”

He had gotten a bit more touchy now that things had finally settled down between the five of them this last week, but Nagisa still found herself blushing at the contact. She grinned and sat down in the remaining seat at the table.

“Did you figure something out?” Mirika asked before pushing a spoonful into her mouth.

“Yep!” she chirped. Turning to Saki, she said, “Naoya isn’t four-timing us at all.” Saki opened her mouth, but Nagisa continued before she could say anything. “He is in a polyamorous relationship with us.” Again, Nagisa spoke before Saki could. “Polyamorous relationships are consensual and can work however the group agrees on.”

Mirika hummed. “I suppose that does sound better than that I’m being four-timed.”

Nagisa nodded. “Just tell the stream that you are in a consensual polyamorous relationship and leave it at that.”

“Huh. I don’t know…I’ll figure something out.”

“Wait.” Naoya blinked. “So, you mean there are other guys dating four girls?”

Shino gave him a disappointed look. “Is that all you care about?”

He floundered. “I mean…”

Nagisa giggled. “I guess so. But that’s not all. Some people date two people who are also dating each other, and some people even date two people who also date two entirely different people.”

Saki crossed her arms. “There’s no way that’s true. Why would anyone agree to that?”

Mirika smirked. “Like how you agreed to four-timing?”

Saki gasped. “T–that’s different.”

“Oh, yeah, because you love Naoya soo much.”

Saki pointed a finger at her. “You agreed to this, too.”

Mirika shrugged. “You’re not wrong. But you gave in without any bite whatsoever.”

Saki glared.

Worried a fight might ensue, Nagisa spoke up again. “Some people just fall in love with multiple people, like Naoya did. Free love, and all that.” The idea of loving freely made her chest warm.

Saki’s glare turned into a frown. “Naoya has got to be a special case, though. How can anyone love more than one person? How can you give so much energy and emotion?”

Shino let out a sigh. “I don’t know. I think I can understand it.”

“You do?”

Shina smiled sweetly. “I mean, I love you too, don’t I?”

A suspicious blush appeared on Saki’s cheeks. Nagisa had been noticing it more and more lately. It made her look really pretty. “You aren’t coming onto me now, are you?”

Shino blinked and lifted her hands up defensively. “No! I just meant I can see how someone might be able to feel that way.”

Saki laughed. “Of course! I mean, we all love our parents.”

Naoya shook his head. “This has nothing to do with that. I love each of you, but it isn’t like the love I have for my parents at all.”

Saki didn’t seem to appreciate that comment. “Friends then! We love our friends.”

Naoya shook his head. “I don’t think I have loved any friend other than you, Saki-chan.”

Her mouth gaped. “You can’t be implying that Shino and I–That we–” She began swaying as if she might faint.

Next to her, Nagisa caught her in her arms. “It’s alright, Saki. None of us care either way.”

“Ahh.” The noise she made was depressing. A moment later, the girl bolted upright. “Damn it! Why do you have to smell so good, Nagisa?”

“Huh?” Nagisa blinked at her.

Saki took hold of her shoulders. “Shino I can overlook because she’s my best friend. Of course I want her to be happy and to be around her, but why do I care so much about you, damn it?”

“I–”

“As soon as you cooked me that first meal, I dreaded letting this end. I didn’t want to go without the delicious meals that you cook. But I also liked you. You’re cute and kind and a good person. And you care about Naoya so much. I knew that you could give him more than I could.”

Nagisa shook her head. “That’s not true. You make Naoya the happiest.”

“You all make me the happiest,” Naoya said.

Saki continued, looking at the floor rather than meeting Nagisa’s eyes, “The more time I spent with you, the more I enjoyed being around you. When I ended things, it was because I realized how much competition you are. Anyone would be happy to call you their girlfriend.”

Nagisa sucked in a breath and placed her hand over Saki’s. “I like you, too, Saki. I never said anything because dating Naoya was already more than I could wish for, but I’ve kind of hoped from the beginning that you might want to date me too.”

Saki’s face was hard to read. She didn’t look happy exactly, but she didn’t look unhappy either. “I…” She was silent for an extended moment. “I hate that that makes me extremely happy.”

Not a moment later, Naoya crushed them in a hug. “I’m so happy for you two! My two girlfriends!”

Nagisa’s face felt hot, so she hid it in Naoya’s chest.

“Hey!” Saki protested. “I didn’t agree to anything.”

“You will,” Mirika said haughtily. “We all know you have no backbone whatsoever. I bet you’d even date me if I asked you enough times.”

“Ew, never.”

Everyone laughed at that except for Shino. Nagisa turned to see that she had a bittersweet expression. “Are you okay, Shino?”

“Yeah, I’m okay.” She didn’t sound okay, though.

Saki must have noticed too because she pushed away from Naoya so that she could go over to her. She cradled her friend’s head against her shoulder, running gentle fingers through her hair. “You’re sad.”

Shino shook her head. “I’m happy for you.”

“No, you’re not,” Saki said.

Shino’s eyes welled up. “I just…I didn’t realize until now how much I do love you.”

Saki’s fingers stilled. “Oh.”

“You hate me now, don’t you?”

“No!” Saki exclaimed immediately. She made Shino look at her. “I couldn’t ever hate you. Why do you think I let you date Naoya, silly.”

Shino gave a tiny smile. “Thanks, Saki-Saki.” She gulped. “But, you like Nagisa, not me.”

Saki groaned. “Damn it! If Naoya can four-time, then I can three-time, can’t I?”

Shino stared at her. “You really mean it? You aren’t just saying that because I’m your best friend, right?”

“Uh…” Saki didn’t seem to know how to answer that.

Not bothering to wait for her to formulate an answer, Shino launched herself lips first into Saki. Both girls tumbled backward, landing in a compromising position. For once, no one called out or accused anyone. Instead, Mirika sighed in exasperation, Nagisa smiled happily, and Naoya looked on in lewd surprise. Somehow, Shino’s hand had ended up on Saki’s boob and she didn’t appear to be in a hurry to remove it. Saki’s own hand was holding dangerously close to Shino’s butt. Both of them seemed lost to the world as they kissed.

When Shino finally pulled back, Saki looked dazed and worse for wear. “Sorry,” she said, trying to stand up.

Saki grabbed her wrist. “Yeah,” she said. “I mean it.”

Shino let out a shuddering breath and began to cry.

“What’s wrong?” Saki asked in worry.

Shino let out a giggle. “Nothing, I’m just so happy.”

Saki sighed in relief, then looked away embarrassed. “Could we maybe, do that again?”

Shino giggled again and leaned down.

“Bleh.” Mirika pretended to gag, but Nagisa could tell she was actually happy for them. She was a good person beneath her haughty exterior.

Shyly, Nagisa got up and went over to them on the floor. This time, when the two separated, she tapped Saki on the shoulder. When Saki looked at her, she hesitated. “Uh, could we maybe…”

Saki smiled and tugged her down by her shirt collar. Nagisa melted into the kiss. It was different from kissing Naoya. Softer and somehow kinder. Both made her chest warm and flutter, though. She wondered what it would feel like to kiss them both at the same time.

Naoya whistled. “Does this mean that a fivesome might be possible?”

Saki was up immediately and in front of him. Her foot kicked out straight at his groin. “No way, you pervert!”

Mirika pumped her fist up. “Go Saki! No way in hell am I going to have sex with you girls .”

Nagisa giggled.

Naoya’s voice came out pained. “A foursome, then?”

Nagisa giggled again as she stood up and dusted off her skirt. “I don’t know about me and Shino…”
