In all honesty, Eavan had been thinking of the bathroom all evening, plotting her escape and waiting for the right moment. When it seemed like the Great Hall was particularly crowded, and the dance floor was almost too busy to breathe, let alone dance, She’d delicately excused herself. As she’d hoped, the bathroom was empty when she arrived, and she was able to find a moment of peace. She ran her hands under the water so it would look like she was doing something if someone interrupted her, but when the door opened it didn’t feel like an interruption. 

“Nancy.” Eavan gifted the Ravenclaw with one of her rare, genuine smiles that softened her whole face. “You look beautiful. Dare I hope Ludo is managing to be a respectable date?”
