Writers/artists/creators! This question is for you!

Do you ever get, like, MORE anxious to share something you're proud of?

I wrote a novel for NaNoWriMo, and even though I did it over a compressed time frame, I'm still really proud of it. I've been editing it and relieved that I like it as much now as I did when I was writing it two months ago.

And I'm more nervous to put that out in the world than anything I've written that I've felt more "IDK, maybe this works" about. Like, if I think it's good and other people don't, it'll be way more disappointing, even if writing it for what I wanted it to be was the point.

Normal? Weird but understandable? Nope, I'm alone on an island of self-doubt?

Does anyone have any advice for people who are very good at worldbuilding but not very good at turning that into actual writing? I have a good 4-6 decent book ideas in my head but I can't ever seem to get past writing more than a few chapters

Current status:

Maybe I can indulge in beetlejuicedom on weekends, but it all depends. I need this first draft done by January 1, even if it's a shitty first draft, so that probably means working Saturdays and Sundays. I have the most patient editor in the world, but even she has her limits.

why do i do this

my “part 1 of 5″ of part one of a trilogy-fic series is (drumroll) 110k, with only 20/30 chapters written.

this pace will put it at well over 500k

Taking a Break

TLDR: Taking about a week off from posting to work on NANAWRIMO

I'll be taking a break from posting for about a week as I'm currently working on an original story that I want to make some progress on

If anyone wants posts though, feel free to send an ask (anon or otherwise) about anything Solo Leveling related, and I'll try to respond within 24 hours :3 It can be anything from an edit request or questions about headcanons I have about certain characters or ships (open to any characters and ships)

Asks would help since I'm low on ideas too haha Also haven't been feeling too well emotionally recently, so feeling drained but nothing too bad

Anyway, if I don't get any asks, I won't be uploading anything for the next week. Hopefully, I'll have written enough for my original story to continue posting after that

Today, it’s October 27th, only a few days are left until the craziest 30 days of the year will begin. It’s my fifth time I join NaNaWriMo and I finished every time. This year I‘ll try to finish my first novel I started last NaNo. 2/3 are done. Let’s do it.

this week has been full of medical appointments and work, but at least I'll have next week off to enjoy my wedding anniversary <3

I've really been considering doing nanawrimo this year, I have a loose plot ready for a novel but I don't know if I'm ready to commit to a month of writing on top of my other work... but it would be really cool to have a soft, POC, post apocolytpic (and a little solarpunk) story about the nature of love and healing and honesty, right?

i want that to exist.

because I’m me and lowkey a workaholic I haven’t been making as much content but I do want to do kinktober this year! I want to say that I want to do nanawrimo this year too but it all depends on my mental state and free time. I’m already not in the best place but who is lol

the list I’m using is from @kinktober2023 and I’ll be posting an edited version to fit my blog and the exact prompts I plan on doing soon.

I'm so excited about this! I have SO many unfinished original fics (and one Thundercats fic that I can find) and I keep getting distracted in the middle to do art for them...

I'm glad it's got a long time frame, but I worry it'll be like NaNaWriMo and I'll get distracted part way through.

If you get distracted we definitely understand! There are channels on the Discord where members can help pull you back on track, there are mods you can contact for advice, and if it fails spectacularly you can always drop from the bang with no consequences for future rounds.

Genuinely feel like I burnt myself out on creative pursuits (especially fandom events). After I finish these 3 art pieces for various big bangs + my fic for the M!Handers zine I think I will take a much needed creativity break to reset before Nanawrimo rolls around.

Save NaNaWriMo!!

Hey guys... I met my wife through NaNoWriMo, I am as attached to the concept as a person could be, but if we're going to recreate it... I'm begging you to not put it in November. November is possibly the worst month for it if you live in the US. In school? You're probably studying for finals toward the end of that month. Adult? Some part of your family is going to want you to come visit them, which is a whole thing if you have to travel to see them.

We can break free of this. We can have a whole new novel writing month. I'm begging you. Even as someone whose life partner came to me through NaNoWriMo. Do not put this fucking month in November.

I feel like I should participate in nanawrimo or something. I don’t have a novel in mind, I just feel like doing all this technical writing has broken my brain and idk how to write like a human being anymore

Urgh. Made a resolution to do Ineffable May, but it's day 4 and I'm still hacking away at the first prompt.

...Does anyone want to beta read for me? The good news is I write very slowly so it might not be much work...?

I'm going to set up a (late) NaNaWriMo page to guilt me into working on this properly...
