random question, if i bought a blank jersey from a barca store, can i take it back at another time and have them put a nameset on or change the badges?

yes, you can add a nameset (i just did this myself!). but only at the camp nou store! in terms of removing badges, if it's already on the shirt, i don't know if they will remove anything.

also, keep in mind that it has to be a shirt from this season or last season only. if it is an older season shirt, then you are out of luck on namesets!

this may be an issue with nike distribution in the usa specifically (i assume you are talking about nike.com). because the black away shirt is certainly available via the barça shop and other authorised resellers.

what i would do is check to see if other sporting shops in the usa that carry fc barcelona gear are having the same problem. like in barcelona, in addition to the nike store, there's a store called fútbol emotion that is authorised to sell fc barcelona merchandise. so i would check a similar type set-up in the usa to see if they have the black shirts available. hope this helps! 🙏

no, you can bring one from outside! it's quite affordable too, I think the nameset is like £15 and wsl patch £5

So, looks like Nike decided they would rehash the 2014 Men's World Cup fonts for some of their NT's, with the idea of using them on the 2023 Women's World Cup kits. Carrying over is not uncommon, as a matter of fact, it can play really well into the visual branding of a team. However, it's a surprising move, since neither England nor the Netherlands have been doing this lately (I think NED carried over the 2018 fonts to the 2021 kits.) I reckon the kitmen had some spare namesets lol.

Funny, some of the veterans had played in those kits from 8-9 years ago.

[Edit]: I stand corrected--as you can see, with the England kits it's just the 1's and 0's, the rest of the numbers are seemingly reworked.

DAY 25 - Designing for inclusivity

One feature, which I am quite keen to see implemented, are pronouns and romantic preferences for the player. However, this could get a little complicated, so I'm seeking references from various sources to see how they handle gender and pronouns.

Appearances

Although I have not yet included sprites, the player's appearance will determine which sprite is used for them. This should be a global variable.

I've set this with a global variable of mc_sprite, as its independent from pronouns. It's set to femme, masc, or nb, but it could just as easily be 1, 2, or 3, for the respective appearances.

Display Names

THIS WAS A FAFF. Turns out in the end was my ManagedText resources were under Assets > Resources > Text, and not Assets > Resources > Naninovel.

And then inside the actor record, I have {nameSet?playername:T_PrologueName}.

I ended up with this arrangement. Why? So that all the characters can change name at any time.

Next, is the beast of pronouns. It'll be a long one so I'm saving that for another post.

1) How did you choose your name?

! Okay, well, I went through a process of naming myself several times over, and it has always directly coincided with how I’ve perceived my gender during different stages of discovering it. I’m gonna list how those stages of perception alongside the names. 

AGAB, but not really-- more like not knowing any other way and accepting my assignment

----- [Deadname]. Assigned to me when I came out of the womb, as my parents chose not to learn of my sex and just had both a masculine nameset and a feminine nameset at the ready for when I exited.

Learning of “another way” and questioning (14-15) ----- [Deadname]

Feeling both masc and fem, feeling somewhere perfectly between them with occasional/rare but minute fluctuation one way or the other (15-16) ----- Asher, [deadname]; up to the person referring to me. “Asher” was the name of a male OC of mine who I created as the male version of myself at the time (I was 14 when I made him). I wanted my name(s) to embody the simultaneous masculinity and femininity I felt.

Feeling increasingly dysphoric over femininity (16-17) ----- Asher

Feeling that something was wrong but not knowing for sure what it was, coming to realize that my gender didn’t fluctuate at all (16-18) ----- Asher, Cyrus. Cyrus is the name of a character from the show “Andy Mack” who is Disney’s first canonically gay character in a TV show. He was important to me at the time.

Realizing what was wrong was that -- because masculinity didn’t really suit me, either -- those typically masculine names didn’t sit right (16-18) ----- Elliott. I Googled gender-neutral names, viewed a couple lists, and disliked Elliott the least. ryfguhjbk

Didn’t feel “in between” (felt abinary for sure) but also didn’t feel agender, neutrois, ultragender, xenogender, or androgyne... then discovering maverique ----- Elliott

In the end, Elliott is the primary name I’ll be staying with, and I’ll surely make it my legal name one day. However, since that is inescapably an “either or” name rather than a “neither at all” name (and my gender is the latter), I use names that are not usually people names sometimes-- it depends on where. For instance, on my rat blog, I sorta slide into the persona of Zenith: me but specifically loving rats and also writing in more of a popularly memeish style. Been vaguely considering using a classically nonbinary name -- you know, words that aren’t used as people names by The Binaries -- but not giving it much thought.
