look! all i’m thinking about is chi yeol’s face when he was alone in the car after straight up lying to the woman he’s in love with about his feelings as he felt guilty about burdening her with them, haeng seon’s face as she was worrying about the man she did not let herself admit to like because she does not feel as if she is enough to deserve romance with such a man and hae e’s face when she realised that unknowingly her own fear and her mother’s love was the thing that has kept them apart because in the first place the lie that has created this mess has been created in order to shield her from other people’s cruelty

I feel crash course in romance added too many of plots at the ending like murder + hae mom drama + sun jae's mom drama + sua's illness + sua's mom drama and I think that's why episode 15 feels weird because the entire show we were focused on the main leads and then suddenly we have so many subplots popping in all at once that the main leads romance got a little sidetracked. but then I am not complaining about the amazing amount of serotonin we got from chi yeol crushing on haeng seon and the peaceful rom-com that we enjoyed in the beginning
I feel if the drama had a few more episodes rather than 16 ep being the last if it would go on till at least 20 eps then they could have resolved everything smoothly than it being rushed ( and Iwe would've gotten more of chi yeol x haeng seon + hae e x sunjae x geonhu because I am not ready to let this end so soon )

Just finished Crash Course in Romance and my god that show was something. It was genuinely one of the best pieces of media I have ever seen. One of the best things about it was that all of the characters acted SENSIBLY. Shocking, I know. As the viewers we may know that its not the best choice to make, but with the information and position the characters are operating in, they almost always make completely rational decisions. Obviously there have to be some exceptions to this, but we can't have everything.
The show hit really hard as it explored the stress and pressure academics puts on students, and how different students respond differently to it. Su-a's spiral was an all too familiar reflection of the gifted child burnout, how the top of the class students begin to struggle. Another massive thing the show brought up was how parents push their own wishes onto their kids. In the entire show, Nam Haeng-son was perhaps the only mother that wasn't pushing her own dreams onto her kid. Furthermore, Seon-jae's arc hit so close to home for me. He was the 'good kid', the one that did what his mom told him to without complaint, yet he had to grow independent from her in order to be happy, and have control over his own life.
Chiyeol and Seo Jin's arc did a really good job of showing that even with a successful career and money, you may not be happy. Chiyeol appeared to have everything, but he was tearing himself apart till he found Haeng seon. Seo Jin seemed to have a great career, husband and sons, but she too was miserable on the inside. She was consumed by the drive to get her sons good careers so they could be happy, not realizing that the rat race to a "good university, career, familiy" was plunging her entire family into misery.
One of the best things that the show did, was that no one character was 'evil', nor flawless. Even with the main antagonist, Mr. Ji, the viewer is left feeling sorry for him, rather than angry at him. Hae-e's mother does the right thing in the end too, and leaves Hae-e where she'll be truly happy. Geon-hu had the full potential to become a rival to Seon-jae, but he instead becomes an essential part of the group, and actually supports him in finally confessing to Hae-e.
I have so, so many thoughts about this masterpiece of a show, but thats about all I can scramble out right now

Some of the gold that I loved in ep 10 apart from the kiss and Hae-e’s confession
• chi-yeol having a heart attack when he sees haeng-seon’s message to go to the karaoke place and thinking it’s a motel. My man still went though. Sooo lovesick!
• having drinks with university friend. I really appreciate this part because of how lonely chi-yeol is. The person he probably wants to call and be with the most is the one person he couldnt be with at that moment.
• forever meme-able chi-yeol being a lightweight and passing out like he just died and went to heaven (which he did in this episode when he got to kiss haeng-seon)
• jae-woo being the best dongsaeng to chi-yeol and the unknowing bridge for the kiss to happen. Also, that part on the door and on the bed was sooo funny. Kyung-ho, the god of comedy. I love how thin and frail he is— best psyiognimy for physical comedy.
• hae-e watching her two psuedo-parents falling in love

Ngl the love triangle will maybe end up with hae e refusing both boys but they are such great characters! She has a great relationship with her old friend (who has the best chance imo) and the not-so-himbo is definitely charming and means well, however the first never tried to make a move and the latter doesn’t seem to know how to do things in a way that is comfortable for hae e.

just watched ep 15 of “crash course in romance” and holy shit. holy shit. spoilers!
i like how the murder subplot was resolved though i am a tad miffed that we don’t get to see the police definitively say that dong-hui was the murderer. that bit of justice would’ve been so. nice. but tbh i think dong-hui was meant to be a tragic figure, almost like romeo or juliet, because he clearly was never going to see reason. he sees a chi-yeol who finally is able to open up emotionally, make meaningful connections with other people, and find a life outside of work and immediately tries to kill them. he feels like the only good thing in his life is slipping away because he is unable to fathom what it means to be happy and well adjusted so tbh, his resolution was i think incredibly fitting for his character.
also i’m glad that chi-yeol didn’t do something stupid. i was terrified that dong-hui was gonna catch him at his apartment and then go crazy.
i want to kill su-a’s mom and hae-e’s biological mom. they can both suck it. i was almost giddy at the scene where su-a’s like “hey let’s all eat here, my husband really liked the steak here!” because i just knew a confrontation was coming lol.
also v glad that hae-e didn’t end up with either boy! i liked both and i liked how they both generally kept their jealousy in check (was sun-jae perfect at it? no, but he at least didn’t try to dictate hae-e’s actions or act really passive aggressively towards her. i’m also just generally more inclined to be more forgiving of a 17 year old boy as long as he learns, which i feel like he did). the friendship between sun-jae and geon-hu was really nice, too! and i’m glad that hae-e was just like, nope. don’t wanna date anyone. and the guys both handled it well, too! top tier.
ngl i feel like she wants to live with her bio mom because she thinks this is the best way to get her bio mom to leave and not ruin haeng-seon and chi-yeol’s relationship. which is. on brand. but also SAD. NO HAE-E.
excited for episode 16. hae-e STAY IN KOREA. STAY IN SEOUL.
also i am so intrigued to see what happens next with sun-jae’s family.

Nam Hae-ee is the cusp of it all (except for the part of the murder mystery which I still can't figure out).
I'm only starting to write about this now since ep 9 packed so much. I fast forwarded a lot of the scenes with the awful mums but I can't keep my eyes away from this episode however much painful the whole episode was.
And in the middle of all of this, the one who started it all was Nam Hae-ee
"Why was I born, Dan-ji? My mere existence is a nuisance."
But then without her, Nam Haeng-seon and Choi Chi-yeol's stars wouldn't have collided.
Her mere existence put all of this into play. Her desire to study so she can in her own way give back Haeng-seon's sacrifices gave her 'mum' and the math teacher a chance of finding themselves and falling in love. These are two people who have suspended their feelings for various reasons-- Haeng-seon so she can focus on taking care of both Hae-ee and Jae-woo, and Chi-yeol, to stop from being used by the system, be the system, and having another student die on his watch.
The tenth episode is almost always a special episode for any kdramas. I've been loving this show too much to remember which episode was coming out. Now, we're getting to the good parts. It's almost usually when the main characters get together and I am sooo ready for it.
