Dear naitomeruu,
Nah. He was named by the shelter house. I thought it sounded fine so I kept it that way.

Answer 21, Tag 21
Thanks for the tag @maskedfoxy! I’m actually in need of a bit of self-indulgence so here goes.
Nickname(s): Ophe, for you internet peeps.
Zodiac Sign: Libra.
Height: 5′4.5″.
Hogwarts House: Slytherin apparently.
Last Thing I Googled: Persia Babylon.
Favourite Musicians: I don’t really go by musicians, just songs for the most part; I enjoy quite a few 60s/70s songs. As for classical stuff, Chopin and Bach come to mind.
Song Stuck in My Head: None right now, but 表と裏 from Death Parade was stuck in my head for a few days a couple weeks back. I did not mind.
Following Now: 105.
Followers: 143.
Do I Get Asks?: Not really, except from friends when I post ask me things, but I haven’t been doing that much.
Amount of Sleep: 7 hours average.
Lucky Number: 1, 5.
What I’m Wearing: Home clothes right now - t-shirt, sports pants, and a fleece jacket.
Dream Job: I used to be more ambitious, but now any job that’s secure and stimulating enough to not make me hate it is good enough haha. I do wish I could just teach/do research at uni without being engaged in all the academic politics though.
Dream Trip: Camino de Santiago, Iceland, the Holy Land.
Favourite Food: Noodles and dumplings... of any kind, really.
Instruments: I played the flute and still like it, but I also appreciate the cello.
Languages: English, Cantonese, broken Mandarin.
Favourite Song: Hard to just pick one, and I’ve covered a few in #6, but I also really like certain old Latin hymns.
Random Fact: About me? I have a small but deep scar in the roof of my mouth from when I played with scissors as a child. About anything? Glacial ice is blue because it’s so compacted, its refractive index changes.
Aesthetic: Blazing sunshine. Bare feet. Wilting flowers. Fitted jeans. Hip-length jackets. Novelty socks. Incandescent bulbs. Rustling leaf litter. The smell of ozone before a storm. Warm cobblestone. Jagged mountains. Dark ocean. Wide horizons. Tree bark. Old ruins. Silent caves. Honey tea. Onion soup. The light of joy in one’s eyes.
I tag: @djkalis, @kimlime-pie, @waffuruki, @lazzuderp, @naitomeruu, @comet-seles, @marshmellowhime, @takayachan, @tei-who-knows-noire, @drowsybun, @cathcacen!

Hey Miss Athena Cykes, uhh… I hope this question ain’t too awkward…
You have sensitive hearing right? So uh… what do you think of the sound of a human heartbeat? Does it kill your ears like loud screeching noises do? Or do you actually find it soothing and calming listening to it?
… You do know how the human heartbeat sounds like right…?
Sorry and thank you!
"Awkward? Nah, don’t worry about it.”
“I love the sound of heartbeats! Slow ones are gentle and soothing, while fast ones are strong warriors!”
“I can hear my own when I’m running! Why listen to music when you can listen to your heart?”

Dear naitomeruu,
Well, I would try to convince them not to, for starters. If they do jump, however, I would try to catch them.
I can’t let anyone die when I’m there for them.

Dear naitomeruu,
Thanks. It hit me pretty hard when I first found out about his death, but I’ve been taking in stride. At least he died with honor in the end.
Speaking of which, I have no idea what’s going to happen to Queen Amara’s tomb, but it’d be something if it was converted into one for Dhurke. I ought to suggest that idea next time I see Nahyuta...though it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s already come up with it himself.

(The Links in the Letter) -- Strong Language Warning in the first one
Dear James CyberLink,
Great! Here’s the original letter, everyone:
And since it was your idea...
Dear James CyberLink,
Well said. You don’t have to be famous or save lives to be a hero, do you?
That video didn’t make me cry, but I sure felt some warmth while I was watching it. It takes a special kind of person to save so many lives and keep quiet about it.
-Phoenix Wright
Dear James CyberLink,
Whoa... I sure wasn’t expecting that sort of thing. That’s some high-class embarrassment, all right.
But, hey, at least you learned something from it. It’s weird how even moments like that one can have a positive outcome.
-Maya Fey
Dear James CyberLink,
I agree that those are all important laws. As any student in America could tell you, checks and balances are a fundamental part of any democratic government. The law gets a bit messier when it comes to the internet and personal data, but it's no less crucial to maintain there as well.
I’d imagine the same to be true for drinking laws. Without a breathalyzer, a bartender may have trouble distinguishing a drunk individual from a sober individual who simply acts the same way.
-Miles Edgeworth
Dear James CyberLink,
A Build-A-Bear workshop for computers? That’d sounds like it’d be fun! I live in a rural area too, so I’d love to learn more about how to use them.
But...where would you put the stuffed heart after you’ve finished building one?
-Pearl Fey
Dear James CyberLink,
Yeah, I’m just going to sit this one out, if that’s okay. Good answer, though.
-Apollo Justice
Dear James CyberLink,
It’s okay to be unsure about your personality. People have been known to change from one to another several times before they settle on one. It’s not uncommon for them to fit into more than one either. It’s still not an exact science.
That doesn’t mean it’s bunk, though! If you ever meet Adam, you can tell him he’s a J-E-R-K type!
-Athena Cykes
Dear James CyberLink,
You recognize genius when you see it, don’t you? We can thank the scientific method for helping us save lives, develop as a society, and learn things we never would’ve thought possible. I use it in everything I do, from analyzing fingerprints to buying snacks.
-Ema Skye
Dear James CyberLink,
You’re not supposed to find out how they work! That takes away the whole experience of seeing impossible things happening right before your eyes! That’s the whole point of illusion!
You’re welcome to try and figure out how my tricks work, though. Don’t blame me if you start getting dizzy from all the spinning your head does!
-Trucy Wright
Dear rogertheegg,
To me, the difference made by a gender swap would depend on the character. For some, there’d be hardly any difference (Pearl would be just as adorable, the judge would look and sound just as authoritative, and even some of the main characters would be practically the same), but for others it’d change quite a few things about them (Laura Butz would likely be hitting on guys instead of girls, Mason Fey would have a completely different role in his family, Frederick von Karma would be intimidating in a completely different way, and so on). And let’s not even get into Marlene Grossberg.
No, really. Let’s not.
Dear gunmaxx,
Thanks a bunch! Lately I’ve been afraid I might be losing my edge, so I’m very happy (and relieved) to hear you’re enjoying this blog. Coming up with new letter responses every day and trying to keep them accurate is a challenge, but the sheer personality in Ace Attorney’s diverse cast of characters makes it a lot easier than it would be for, say, a Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog, or Kirby blog. (Would that last one even be possible?) It’s still a challenge, though, so thank you for sharing your appreciation!
Also, no need to worry about spamming. As long as you aren’t sending five or more letters every day, we’ll be happy to answer them.
Dear starry-nightengale,
The only real difference between them is that one is the real “champion of justice,” and the other just acts like him. If someone writes to Bobby Fulbright without stating whether it’s to the real one or the Phantom disguised as him, I usually answer it as the Phantom. The games don’t give us much information about what the real one was like, so it’s probably safe to assume the Phantom’s personality is an almost perfect copy of his.
Dear Fulbright,
First let me just say that I’d be giving you a high-five right now if I could. It’s a breath of fresh air to hear some words of encouragement about the controversies that have crept into this blog more often than we (and I imagine you all) would like to see. I do my best not to let those stress me out too much, but there are times when they do, so thank you for being understanding about it. That’s an attitude we can all use more of.
There aren’t very many characters I like but dislike answering as, or vice versa, but I guess one example of that would be Apollo. He’s a nice guy and a great character, but he doesn’t seem to have the same goofy sense of humor as Phoenix, Trucy, and Athena -- in fact, probably the funniest thing he does is to get fed up with their jokes. I do enjoy answering as him, but I think he takes himself a little too seriously most of the time.
A good example of a character I’m not fond of but enjoy answering is, oddly enough, Dahlia. As much as the cut of her jib sickens me, it’s interesting to think of how she might try to out-clever people who get sassy with her (as I have many times before) or come up with a twisted rationalization of her sadistic actions and thoughts. Not to mention I sort of like the creativity in her haiku.
(Sort of.)
Lastly, while submitters are under no obligation to keep away from any specific topic, they are advised to keep in mind that, as our Submission Guidelines page states, letters that include hot-button topics will be less likely to get an answer. How much less likely depends on the topic, but if the risk of hurting feelings is too high, they’ll be deleted.
(Previous Letter)
Dear Mothmouth,
That happens to the best proofreaders out there. Thanks for clarifying, though (and for expressing your frustration in a family-friendly way).
Dear Mothmouth again,
This is sort of embarrassing, but...I actually didn’t know quite how to do that until the Modthorne gave me some help. Here you go.
Dear Guquis,
No one’s made that joke here as far as I can tell, but it has been done before. (Epilepsy Warning)
Dear idk,
Really? That’s a shame. A moment of silence, everyone.
Thanks for letting us know. I've been neglecting to check on the status of blogs we have links to, so I’ve got some “summer cleaning” to do.
On that note, if you have an active ask blog you’d like us to add a link to, feel free to give us a shout! It’s been a long time since we’ve added any.
Dear naitomeruu,
Sorry to break it to you, but it looks like that’s already been confirmed. If we’re lucky, maybe they’ll release a version for 3DS as well, but if not, I guess I’ll be making a quick dash to the nearest GameStop for a Switch. I still think the Wii U didn’t get a fair chance, but I’ll do it for the blog’s sake!

Dear gunmaxx,
No need to worry about that. That’s happened a lot before, and the same question being asked by different submitters happens a lot, too. If any of your letters don’t get an answer within 5 months (assuming you remember when you sent them), feel free to ask us why, and we’ll see if we can figure out what happened.
Dear naitomeruu,
Me too, pal, me too.
There’s always a possibility that they’ll create a version for the 3DS as well, but if not, it looks I’m getting me a Switch. I sure never thought I’d be forced into buying the latest Nintendo console, but hey, why complain over a new toy?
Frankly, though, I’m just itching to see what it looks like. Give us some previews already, Capcom!
Dear CreatorOfSinyove,
I’m not sure what you mean by the word “unique.” Is it referring to the letters that have a unique sender name, the ones where one of us moderators added our own commentary in a tag, or something different? Please forgive me if it’s something obvious and I’m just overlooking it.
Dear S.G.,
Well, if we can go on a hiatus, I guess you can, too. Have fun!
(Previous Letter)
Dear Inferno,
I wouldn’t tempt fate if I were you, but that’s a good point.
The operative word being “yet.”
-The Co-Mod
P.S. There have been a couple requests for character essays, so I’ll hopefully have them posted before much longer. Just thought you should know.

Dear naitomeruu,
I usually just put in their first and last names, even if they’re someone I don’t call by their full names. I guess I’m just not as creative as others when it comes to giving people nicknames.
That might explain why I hate getting called them so often.

Dear naitomeruu,
Far be it from me to prevent the Holy Mother’s image from being spread beyond our borders. You may feel free to represent Her Holiness in whatever artistic format you desire. A depiction of the Holy Mother’s face was discovered not too long ago, as a matter of fact.
I would advise you to consider one thing, nonetheless, and that is to refrain from changing the Holy Mother’s core aesthetic -- a love of justice, mercy, and humility among all human beings, living or dead. Deviating from these crucial aspects would be an insult to all Khura’inists.

Dear naitomeruu,
Even if I knew the answer to your questions, I could not say them. It shall all remain between me and Her Holiness.
I am prepared to submit to whatever is in store for me in the Twilight Realm. There is no one I can blame for my actions but myself.

Dear naitomeruu,
I wouldn’t jump to that conclusion so quickly. You’re can’t call yourself a murderer until you’ve actually done the deed, for one thing.
It’s true that most dreams can represent your subconscious desires, but it isn’t always clear what those wishes are -- in fact, it almost never is at first glance. A dream about being late for class could mean that you want to feel more prepared in your life, or it could mean that you wish it wasn’t moving so fast. In your dream’s case, it might mean that you see Apollo as a hero who can always recover, no matter what happens to him. You wouldn’t be the only one who sees him that way by now.
Or maybe your brain was replaying a weird sci-fi movie and just happened to replace one of the aliens with Apollo for some reason.

Dear Vettore Lucia,
I regret to inform you that Ms. Mia Fey has recently passed away. Her office is now owned by her sister and myself, Phoenix Wright, and has been renamed the “Wright and Co. Law Offices.” If you’re still interested in hiring us after reading this, please give us a call so we can choose the appropriate time to discuss your case. We wish you the best of luck.
(I hope I’m not giving the impression that Maya’s a lawyer, too. That’d make for one awkward introduction...)

Dear Vettore,
GaaaAAAAAAAaagghh!!!
Sorry... All that sadness you expressed really resonated with me for a moment.
It shouldn’t be hard to imagine how I felt. With all the evidence pointing to me, including my own memories, I was sure I was the one who did it...and I couldn’t even imagine why I would in the first place. Sure, she did some things to me that I hated, but... *sigh*
I’d say it was a mixture of fear, sadness, and disillusionment...mostly sadness. I’d recommend letting your friend know that you’re there for them, and that you still believe in them. I don’t know exactly what they’re going through, but I can almost guarantee you that they’ll need someone to talk to.

Dear naitomeruu,
I’m still only Ms. Wyatt for now, but I know I have Sorin’s love, and it won’t be long now before I have his name too. We haven’t made it official just yet, but he still needs someone to take care of his things for him. He’s practically lost without my help!
There we go! All nicely pressed!

Dear naitomerru,
All right, all right... No need to cry a river for my sake. I’ve decided not to dwell in the past, especially in regards to Clay and Dhurke, so you shouldn’t either.
There's a lot I could be sad about after their deaths, but that wouldn’t change what happened, or do any good at all, really. It’s better to focus on the good times we had together, and all the benefits we each got from knowing one another. I would’ve done anything to prevent what happened to them, but it’s still better than if I’d never known them at all.
Besides, if there’s anything I’ve learned during my time here in Khura’in, it’s that being dead isn’t the same as being gone.
