Seductively holding a flower between my teeth: so Nico huh, any thoughts on dating her?
Grabs flower with one of those metal claws for picking up trash: Uh, yeah, here you go. (I did my best.)
Dating Nico
I hope you’re okay with the smell of both fresh and stale cigarette smoke.
It’s going to be everywhere.
Even if you aren’t, you have to get used to it, or think if she’s really worth it.
(hint: she absolutely is.)
She has a tendency to overwork herself and needs to be pulled away before she hurts herself. She loves her babies, but she also loves you.
Yeah, it is a hard thing to pull her away in the middle of working, but you'll manage.
This especially needs to happen after she hasn’t eaten and the only breaks she's taken are to smoke or sass Nero.
It is very much a “*munches on food* you’re lucky i love you.” situation.
I also hope you’re okay with brutal honesty, and ready for her to call you out on pretty much anything.
Dates are almost non-existent, but if there are a few, prepare for it to be set up entirely by you. She doesn’t exactly care what you plan, as long as it’s spending time with you.
After a while of being together, she doesn’t build anything without running the design through you first.
Even if you have no idea what you’re looking at, and all you can give is a “looks cool!”
She doesn’t need validation, but getting any input from you makes her feel like everything she creates is great. It absolutely is no matter what, but for some reason having your stamp of approval makes it so much better.
Her favorite thing is finally finishing a new design, coming to show you, only to see you curled up asleep on the couch in her van.
I know everyone clowns on her for her driving, but I swear to god, get used to near death experiences.
If you don’t work in devil hunting, or anything similar, she’s not going to be the type to worry 24/7 about you getting in danger through her line of work.
(*cough cough* Nero *cough cough*)
Even if you are to get hurt, she’ll only become a little cautious and more naggy about what you’re digging into.
If you do work in devil hunting, you aren't allowed to use any weapon not from her. Period.
And trust me, you won't want to.
She will be happy to make anything you ask of her, you still have to pay though. With actual currency.

Got it! Read it!
I've gotta say, I am enjoying the bonus pages in Strange Academy. They add a really cute touch and I find that the formats have been well-designed. Thus far, they haven't had any real bearing on the story, and Strange Academy itself exists in that odd canon space of books which are definitely part of the main continuity, but don't try very hard to fit in with other ongoing series. For that reason, I'm hesitant to assume that these emails are an indication of any larger story threads outside of SA.
(by the way, I did try entering the url into my browser, but it didn't turn anything up.)
So, most of Wanda's emails are from students, and the majority of them are automated messages about assignment submissions. The only real message is from Iric, who seems to be having a hard time figuring out the school's online network, which is something I also struggled with in college and is likely the bane of many students' lives in the age of remote education.
Outside of school-related emails, Wanda has five messages, one each from Carol, Steve, Pietro, Erik, and, of all people, Hank McCoy. Carol and Steve's emails are pretty innocuous-- Carol is inviting Wanda to a girls' night out, which is a nice detail as the two of them are canonically pretty good friends, outside of crossover events when one or both of them is being horribly mischaracterized. Wanda was never part of A-Force, but it's still a nice call-back, and it makes me wonder if this girls' night includes Nico, Allison, or even Medusa, who were part of that team.
Steve's e-mail indicates that Wanda is technically a reserve member of the Avengers, which I don't believe has been stated explicitly before, but it makes sense, as she hasn't formally been on a team since Uncanny Avengers ended.
Erik reaching out to Wanda is, in my mind, long-overdue. As complex as their relationship has been, it was out of character for Erik to cut ties with the twins after Axis. Even if he accepted that they weren't his children, I genuinely believe that he would have wanted to follow up with them, Wanda especially, because she wasn't in her right mind during that altercation. The decades of continuity leading up to Axis have generally indicated that Erik, for all his flaws, cared deeply about Wanda, and will go to great lengths to show her that, even when it's not welcomed. The Axis retcon was a fully transparent editorial mandate, and while this isn't the first time that a writer has gently rebuffed it, I believe that it's the first time Erik and Wanda have had direct contact.
Hank's message is really weird. I don't follow Beast very closely, but I've seen a lot of people say that he's become a less trustworthy, more morally dubious character in recent years. I can't imagine why he'd want to invite Wanda to Krakoa, but it does seem like it would be a dangerous invitation for her to accept, considering the Council is running, like, a smear campaign against her on the island. She is, obviously, getting along with Ilyana just fine in the pages of Strange Academy, but Ilyana being at this school is already incongruous with X-Men, and it's part of why I think Strange Academy is slightly detached from continuity.
Pietro's email is dated the day after both Hank and Erik's messages. In it, he urges Wanda to give him a phone call, and tells her not to "dawdle". This could just be typical message from Pietro, who can be naggy and impatient. The fact that it's placed after those other emails, however, makes me wonder if Pietro received similar messages from Hank and/or Erik, and is now trying to convene with his sister about this sudden outreach from Krakoa. He might just want to complain, but he might be trying to deliver a warning. I noticed that Pietro seems to have dictated his email through speech-to-text while speaking at high speed, which is why the words are all smushed together.
I don't believe that the Strange Academy team is at liberty to make decisions about X-Men plots, but I guess they could be asked to foreshadow something if their editors got wind of an upcoming story. This book is Wanda's only recurring cast position, at the moment, so if it was gonna happen anywhere, I suppose it would have to be here. Hickman et al have certainly had plenty to say about Wanda, and, as I've said, they misrepresent the character so flagrantly that I half-suspect it to be red herring for some kind of future revelation. With the X-Men line currently embroiled in a crossover event, however, I think it will be a while before they have time to pick up that thread.
Idk if youre reading strange academy but the recent issue had some emails to Wanda that were really interest on the last page. Particularly Beast and magneto’s emails imo
I am reading Strange Academy but I’m behind on this week’s comics bc I’ve been in quarantine for the last few days! I could just read it online, but for comics that I am actually collecting floppies of, I like to read the print copy before I look at a digital version.
I will get back to you on this when I’ve picked up my pull. The good news about is that my covid test came back negative today, so I’m going to work tomorrow and should be able to stop by the comic store this coming Wednesday. :)

I understand why people have issues with Nico's coming out, I get it I really do
But for me? Someone who was actually outed that way once, I liked it. It allowed me to relate to the character on a deeper level, and it told me even if I didn't hear about others being poorly outed that I wasn't alone.
Plus Jason was a good friend TM about the whole thing, and it was really nice because I didn't have anyone after it happened and it would have been nice to- so I'm glad Nico did.
Solangelo isn't perfect rep, but I'd argue it's pretty damn close.
I know you're going to argue some of the things Will says, but I don't think that's the intention. I think Rick noticed how horrible he made Nico's life and he doesn't write about trauma in his books and didn't want to have to start then. His solution, although wrong, was to try and brush Nico's mental health down the drain.
This isn't right by any means, but I understand why he did it and the issues with it.
I'd also like to talk about Solangelo's naggy "attitude" towards one another- some relationships are just like that. Their pet names are jokes and they like to mock eachother a bit, it's not abuse if both people are genuinely having fun. Will and Nico are both depicted as strong characters and if they had an issue they would speak up.
If you're talking about pda, that's because the pair probably isn't comfy with it. Which I'm sure you can understand.
No hate! Just my opinion as well, I understand what you're saying, but I think there's more than one way to look at the situation, and good rep is a little different for everyone. Hopefully you understand! <3
now that rick riordan is trending, is this a good or bad time to mention that the way nico’s sexuality was a) revealed, and b) treated throughout hoo has never sat well with me and the way that solangelo is heralded as some perfect lgbtq+ representation really makes me uncomfortable
